I have Newspaper the latest version V 6.3.2.
My website is http://www.faceofmalawi.com
1) My problem is that the News ticker, homepage pagination, mobile menu are not working. Here are the details of each:
News ticker: shows the first post and when i click on next icon,, nothing comes up a # is just added to the end of my url.
Homepage Navigation: I tried all 3 options of navigation (prev&next, infinity load, load more button) nothing happen when i click them on the homepage, just a # is added to the end of my url. But on category pages and others pagination works fine. Its only the homepage thats unable to work these functions.
Mobile Menu : When I click/touch on the menu icon while on mobile device the menu does not come up just a # added to the end of my url.
Being a developer I got to thinking this might be some js or jquery problem – all related, but i couldnt find what is causing it. Even tried to deactivate all plugins except Visual composer incase of a conflict but the problem still persists. What could be the issue here? please check my site as the problem is still like this url: http://www.faceofmalawi.com
2) Not sure if this is related to problem number 1 above, but when I mouse over menu items on desktop site there sub items do not display until I am directly mouse overing the specific item, Also note that when I installed theme images were not showing so I searched this forum and used the ‘opacity‘ work-around to show the images, could this also be what I need to do for these menu items. Please advise.
I like v6 of the theme, you guys did a really great job if you can help me with these minor issues I would be very grateful.

I have copied all of my content over from my old website (http://onyxmagazine.com) to the new wordpress website (http://onyxmagazine.starroyaltyent.com/) I installed the newspaper 6 theme and when I did all the content has disappeared. (It’s still on the wordpress site as I can see it in the post page) We want to replicate the exact homepage style as: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-newsmag/ But when we try to do this we receive this error:

I’ve followed all your tutorial and run the script two times. I think it’s a different problem.
When I open the homepage as an administrator, I get this code in the source:

So the theme is updated. But when I open the same page as a normal user, so a page that is cached, it uses the old code. I’ve deactivated again W3 plugin and installed WP Super Cache, but nothing changed.
Maybe I have to delete all the W3 folder?
Hi, I’ve updated to Newspaper 6 last night.
I have a big problem with my home page, maybe related with Cache Plugin (I use W3 Total Cache).
When I look at the homepage as an administrator, it works fine. But when I look at it as a normal user (so without excluding the W3 plugin) the page loses its style, and it becomes a mess. It seems that it tries to use the mobile menu instead of the desktop one.
I’ve tried to deactivate W3, but nothing changed.
I’ve tried to delete the homepage and create a new one, but nothing changed.
I’ve tried to create another page with the same blocks of the homepage, but with a different name, and this one works fine even with the cache plugin, but when I change its name and I try to make it the home page, everything comes back to the same problem.
Any ideas?

Currently the Block 5 display only 2 lines of the Post Title, sometimes 1.5 lines and its cut off.

I wanna report problem with custom font:
I’ve charged the configuration with 2 custom font in the “Add custom fonts / Change google fonts settings” panel as described in the documentation but after reload a page different from the homepage the fonts are not charged correctly.
Inspecting the page load with firebug I see that the url of the font is wrong (in the confiration I’ve wrote the full URL http://beta.ilnostrobimbo.it/wp-content/font/xxx.woff)
Homepage URL (correct)

Other page URL (not correct)

I think that this needs code review for the function.
I also report problem with the mobile custom view of the font menu. If try to explore the site from mobile phone, the menu font are standard, else if I changed them in font custom panel.
Need your support to solve this issue.

Hm.
you can try loading a post page in Chrome, then hit F12 and it should tell you if there is some bizarre unclosed div tag or something.
And of course, make sure you don’t have your zoom set to 150% or something as that always wrecks some stuff with VC 😉
I have not yet updated to the latest-latest version so my comments are probably more anecdotal from 10 years of WordPress gremlins …
look like you will need to redo your homepage … which can often be quickly tweaked by redragging a couple of rows into place to see if they work or not.
Most people just redo the home page layout to get on with their life.
On your posts, having two sets of social media codes at bottom likely not a good idea … if using a plugin, try turning OFF the ones built into the theme as a starting point.
For example on this page, in the console there is a ton of object fails from twitter:

Did you do the dbase update tool after update? That should convert most of the shortcodes.
Some things are CHANGED, and you will need to redo them no matter what. It’s like a new theme, not an update. It’s totally different code, with some overlap for consistency, but not the same them as v4.
You will need to tweak your sidebars, widgets, menus, homepage — sometimes just “resaving” them will fix it; in some cases you will need to adjust things like the search template from v4 no longer there for search results page, etc.

If i enable 7 days popular post setting i can’t see that also, and i know i can enable from theme panel settings.

To have h1 and h2 to your homepage, just add a text block anywhere on the page(you can add it in the sidebar for example and use it on more pages) and add a title and a small description. We also will try to find a better implementation in a future update.

Loving the Newspaper theme! However I have a quick question.
So through visual composer I chose a layout for the homepage and I made it quite similar to the following link:

I noticed in the demo link, the grid images zoom in when hovered over.
On my website the grid layout is Big Grid 8 and running Grid style 2 and I cannot seem to get the same hover effect. I am sure I may have chose a wrong grid layout since maybe it could be a different style or a different grid. Is there any way to bring back the hover/zoom effect?

My setup is very similar to yours.. I’m also using siteground hosting, and W3 Total Cache i’ve found it to be be really good. I’m scoring 99/100 (without ads on pingdom).
– First thing to do is use some of Chris’s mods in particular remove the Emoji Support, and any other plugins that may be loading assets on your homepage (Share plugins, Contact Forms).. you need to conditionally load these assets
– Also i minified the main javascript file using http://javascript-compressor.com/
– Remove all CSS your not using (BBpress, Buddypress, Woocommerce) and minify your CSS here csscompressor.com

My sidebar adverts are now showing on the homepage? Other adverts are showing like the header, I’m using the responsive code.

I would like to add more spots for ads in my site. My problem is this… All the spots that come built into the theme, I need to be able to 4 more sets of those. We have four distinct areas of our news site in addition to a main homepage. The site has a page for every town, and right now we are covering four towns. We want to have ads to be exclusive to each of the four towns. The site is mycommunity.news. And then we have mycommunity.news/Mahopac, mycommunity.news/somers, mycommunity.news/Yorktown and mycommunity.news/northsalem.
Please let me know how would go about making something like this happen.

Homepages are made with visual composer so yes. You can use the theme’s ad widget or use own code.
