Great feedback. Now that I am at a computer, Disqus is not showing on posts (both desktop and phone) when enabled. When disabled, wordpress comments take over and are visiable. I know for sure Disqus was just working prior to v1.4 update. 🙁
@ Chris S – Yes, the homepage is a mess while we figure out how to place content and while we create content. Also, great suggestion about starging the homepage fresh.
Never mind on the homepage issue; looks like you are still playing with that, as it’s a real mess at the moment (sorry).

I have tried it in local. You can actually it in your local. Create one item to add existing menu.
Check in recent post at homepage then go to one of categories.
You will see the post of item menu.

Yes, I have tried it every way possible.. I just tried again. I only have visual composer installed at the moment. Just cleared cache and tried it. No go.
When I go to “import predefined styles” and click “Tech” it should change my homepage to the tech layout right? With the three post boxes across the top? If so, the site stays looking like a regular blog with the posts all in order going straight down? Nothing is on the sidebar either.
I’ve messed around with it all day trying to figure it out. I have no clue at this point..

I’m trying to troubleshoot console errors in browser and eliminate them.
When I deactivated all but tagDiv plugins, the entire homepage disappeared, except for the menu. Even the WordPress admin bar disappeared from the top.
Can you help me troubleshoot and eliminate the console errors at breakwater.wpengine.com ?

Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish…
I would like to be able to create a post where the Youtube video appears at the bottom of a post and the featured image does not appear on the post. I would still like an image with play icon to appear on the homepage indicating there is a video included in the post.
I do not want this same behavior for posts with a featured image and no video. In that instance, I’m content with the featured image appearing on the homepage and at the top of the post page.
How can I accomplish both use cases?

Is the only way to have a YouTube embedded player show up on the homepage to add the YouTube widget block? The problem is that I don’t want to have to edit the homepage every time I want to change that video, since it will be frequently and there may be other less experienced people who want to add a video. Is there a way to embed videos using posts instead of the blocks on the homepage?

I have a problem with the post count view on the homepage. When I go to the theme options – post settings en I switched on the post view count then you see it not only by de messages in WordPress (in Admin) but also on the homepage. How can I turn that off ??

I am not sure if this is a bug or not. Try to put an item in the menu.
you check the recent post in homepage is good. However, if you go to one of the category, then you will see something strange in recent post widget. It will display menu item you just added. This behaviour also happen with the footnote – middle section where it displays thumbnail.

1.- Thanks, on my opinion it’s definitely more useful than have the option to show or not by category the Big Grid.
4.- It is weird. I used “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin but it didn’t work on my site. I will try with the two other plugins suggested on the article.
5.- Incredible, thanks! Now, could it be possible to add “$td_mod_single” somewhere to the line of code? Because now is missing my custom font for Post elements – Date.
6.1.- “display: none” did’t work. For the homepage I added the extra class to text sidebar widget using Visual Composer, and then add the custom code to Advance CSS – iPad Portrait, but it seems VC is not adding the class to the widget. For the other pages (posts) I use a text widget adding <div class=”class123″> and it works, but the title of the widget continues to appear.
6.2.- Same result as in 6.1: using VC doesn’t work, and using “div class” it does but the widget title is not considered on the class.
–> Is there a way to use Smart Sidebar when Slider is on the same page? Or use other slider (Rev Slider, RokGallery, etc.) could be better?

I was trying to adjust our Homepage a bit. I compared our layout with the one of your Demo.
And I saw that in mine are bigger spaces between the “layout-elements”. I would like them to have closer to each other.
For example on the homepage:
The gap (or space) between the menu an slider (and sidebar) is bigger, than on your demo. But I did not set a spacer with the visual composer there … There is just a sace and I do not undestand why …

I have tested this and haven’t found any issue with the background when using a vimeo video playlist on page: http://screencast.com/t/LuvBIFVitd
This could be due to a plugin so I suggest you make sure that you disable all plugins then empty cache if you use any and also purge files if you use CDN hosting services then check again.
If if you still have issues with this after that please make sure that you use the latest theme version which is 1.3.1 and please provide your site’s URL as I need to inspect it for this and make sure that you have an background image/color set for your homepage.
