- TutorialsSystem status parameters guide
Hello DaveS,
Those are a lot of warnings. Something is not functioning properly, or there are plugins conflicting between them. What you can try, is to deactivate all your plugins except the ones provided with the theme, and clear any installed cache. Also, check any custom code you might have entered in the theme panel, or directly to the theme files. If you use a child theme, switch to the main theme.
Then check if the problem is solved. If it is, activate the plugins one at a time, and possibly identify the cause of the issue.
Also check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide , if necessary
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You can ask you hosting provider to make them for you if needed, as they might have a recommended method in this regard. These modifications are requires for the good functionality of the theme and plugins. Having many plugins can exhaust the allocated memory.
Thanks
Hello taknev420,
Please make sure that you are using the latest theme version and then, check the system status parameters to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Most likely, you PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything. Try to increase it according to our useful manual, clear all the caches and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins and clear all caching.
Now test the theme panel again. If this does not fix the issue, then please follow this guide to properly increase your memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thank you!
Hello Olive,
Yes, the screenshot is wrong. Here is the right one -> https://www.screencast.com/t/j8FOakZvVYO and there you can see that you have some issues with it. Please try to disable all of the untested plugins and use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, check the system status parameters to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Most likely, your PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hi there at TagDiv,
The backend of our WP-theme Newspaper 8 has slowed down to a 40 seconds-plus loading speed when editting or creating post, pages or opening the Media Library. Also starting up TagDiv Composer on a (new) page is extremely slow. We have tried everything we could find, like disabeling all the plugins and enabeling them one for one again. Allocating more memory through wp_config.php according to TagDiv specifications, etc. Nothing seems to work. Frontend of our site is flying (well, fast loading). Restored backups of website and database a few times also. We don’t know what we can do to fix this problem. Checked PHP memory: fine, Server specs: great, so we realy need some help here.
Our newswebsite http://www.regioonline.nl is online since January, 14th 2017 using the WP Newspaper theme. We have about 1.100 post to date and approx. 4.500 images. With the theme we use the following plugins: Akismet Anti-Spam, Autoptimize, Better Delete Revision (deactivated), Contact Form 7 & Contact Form 7 add confirm, Cookie Bar, HTML Import 2, Image Watermark, Oypo (deactivated), Physical Custom Upload Dir for Real Media Library, Really Simple SSL, Yoast SEO.
We have used WP Supercache several times, but that did nothing for us. Yesterday installed and used Better Delete Revision and cleaned out redundend revisions (and set max revisions to 2 in wp_config). WP_Memory is set to 64M (even tried 512M with was possible acoording to our webhost One.com). We have a large amount of space (500GB) for our site and 8xCPU from the server. Only thing we can think of is maybe a corrupted database, but we don’t know how to check that of fix it. Enabeling repair in WP_Config did not work.
Any help is much appreciated in advance!
Hello,
Please first of all test without any plugins active. Disable all of theme and clear all caching.
Then make sure you increase the memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If the problem is still there, please check your file permissions and ask your host about any blocked content. Check the htaccess for blocked content as well.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hi,
If settings in the theme panel cannot change, please check your firewall and disable it temporarily.
Also make sure you use this guide to increase the memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also please contact your host and ask for any blocked files on your install and check file permissions
Thanks.
DUPLICATOR plugin is best way. I have used this twice now for couple of gigantic projects on changing and moving 10 year old sites to new domain name and fresh WP install.
Or, import content using PHPmyAdmin for your MySQL backup. But then you’d need to manually do any search/replace in your database for changes, such as different domain name, etc. (same process used when moving from http > https).
Note the ‘import’ function in the WordPress panel sometimes is hit/miss and not 100% reliable — you may need to temporarily increase your php settings (memory, time processes run, file size limit, etc.) to the maximum allowed by your hosting provider (but let them know what you are up to).
BUT, DUPLICATOR is a little tricky first time out — but it is the only ‘foolproof’ way I found to move sites and actually have everything work right.
Hello,
If the sections in your theme panel are not working properly, you should increase your memory allocation like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
hello, please help…im stuck..i already read same problem but cannot solve
my site cannot make full width, i alredy make site with newspaper several times but this time i’m stuck
i already switch in VC to row strecth but the content would not full width
here is my site : https://goo.gl/6Brms2
and also the slider cannot full width
here is my detils
Registration key i xxxxx
Theme name i Newspaper
Theme version i 8.1
Theme database version i 8.1
php.ini configuration
Server software i Apache
PHP Version i 5.6.30
post_max_size i 50M – You cannot upload images, themes and plugins that have a size bigger than this value. To see how you can change this please check our guide here.
max_execution_time 300
max_input_vars 1000 – the max_input_vars should be bigger than 2000, otherwise it can cause incomplete saves in the menu panel in WordPress. To see how you can change this please check our guide here.
SUHOSIN installed false
mbstring available
WordPress and plugins
WP Home URL i http://xxxx
WP Site URL i http://xxxx
WP version i 4.8.1
WP multisite enabled i No
WP Language i en_US
WP Memory Limit 256 MB/request
WP_DEBUG False
Caching plugin No caching plugin detected – for best performance we recommend using WP Super Cache
Often the 502 happens due to too many processes running (kill script). You can try limiting queries, turn off stuff like XMLRPC, images in search box, related stories with images (more from author), ajax show more, infinite pages scripts, mega menus with posts; increase execution time for php, memory allocated to site, memory allocated to WP (e.g,. 256M vs default 40M in wp-config.php – ) etc.
Okay thanks!
Just a few more questions …
1. I’m using style 7 for the Header and I would like to reduce the white space above my logo and menu. Can I do that?
2. I would also like to get rid of ‘More from Author’ next to ‘Related Articles’ at the bottom of my post pages. Can I do that?
3. I would like to change the max_execution_time and WP Memory Limit to reflect the recommendations of the Newspaper theme under System Status but I don’t understand where to go to change those things.
Thanks!
I got my hosting company to do what you mentioned (please see below). I have no plugins activated, cache it using WP Cache and I still have problems with editing….
Can you please sort this out ASAP.
Thank you for contacting us.
This is an update for your request in which the following configurations required to be set in the server.
wp-config.php file
define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’ );
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
Php.ini
max_input_vars = 5000
max_execution_time = 300
post_max_size = 50M
upload_max_filesize = 50M
suhosin.request.max_vars = 5000
suhosin.post.max_vars = 5000
Now you tell me it’s this problem https://www.screencast.com/t/oKKjne7Z5T
How do I resolve this? an you tell me exactly what I need to do to fix the problem? I’ve the stopped anti virus. I have tried on 2 browsers Firefox and Chrome and still dont work. It’s been a week, I am no nearer doing anything with the site.
Please please find out what the problem is.
Thanks
Colleagues:Is the hit counter purely incremental with no cache of historic memory on the site? I ask because I turned off this feature while experimenting with settings.When I turned it back on, not surprisingly?I suspect, no hits.
Hello guys,
I have a super annoying issue : when adding widgets inside the admin dashboard and saving them, if I go to the frontend I will see the new widgets… but if I go back to the widget admin dashboard, all widgets are gone !!!
I have checked my PHP memory limits, etc, but it’s all perfectly fine:
https://screencast.com/t/sq7AFq2H4r
https://screencast.com/t/7PCCzEhaA
Any idea why the theme not working properly ?
Thanks
Hello, I just installed and activated with a demo content import done. Site is all working fine but when I try to edit any pages the visual composer code is seen in the text editor but VC does not load at all. If I click on edit with TD composer, the page load icon keeps looping without any page loading.
I tried to change the memory limit with my cloud host on site ground to 512M. is there anything else I have to set right for this to work?
All theme required plugins are active. Please advice how to fix this. Thank you.
Hello dkpolaco,
Please check your system status parameters to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ Most likely, your PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything. Clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
@tageldart We’ve got the same story! I just started working on my site a few days ago.
Anyway, I was able to fix the issue.
What happened have I recently installed a plugin which affected the theme. So I just disabled my most recent plugin and I was able to same on them settings.
Another thing I noticed was the allowed memory limit on my host was just too low! 34mb. So I had to contact my host to increase it to 128mb.
Increasing the memory limit on your hosting a limit may just be the solution you need.
Hi – I am having the exact same problem today… I only have started working with the theme over the past days, and hardly have anything added or changed.
I have confirmed in the “status” panel that all settings are ‘green’, including being sure that max_input_vars is set to 5000, and memory at 64MB
Any suggestions on how to fix this? I simply wanted to change the color of the login box, but it won’t save… just rolling icon without any save.
Ideas? Suggestions? Solutions?
Thank you.
This is stats from webalizer http://prntscr.com/gddo7s
My question will be could it be that php settings (like max_input_vars (current 7000) or memory_limit current 2048M)) can effects view count stats?
Hello, having problems with post views counter. Website is living based on post views number and this functionality is most important part. Average post views for each post is between 2000 – 10000 views in 48 hours, but theme post counter showing like 200 – 1200 (something like 10 times less). Try with AJAX counter enabled and disable still same issue. Could it be related to php settings (current php version 7.0).
Website is hosted on dedicated server:
CPU: 1x Intel Xeon E3-1230v5 @ 3.4GHz Quad-Co
Memory: 2x 8GB DDR4 UDIMM
Hard Drive: 2x 120GB SSD RAID1
with Web Accelerator
Attached is these status. In speed bost it tells me it conflicts with another plugin even though I jhjave deleted that plugin..
Also in wp-config I added define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’ );but it still shows “WP Memory Limit, 40 MB/request” in these status.
I also added thiss “define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);” to wp-config.
What am I doing wrong?

Just to try and pre-empt some of your responses when you hopefulyl get to this in the morning:
PHP memory is set at 256 mb;
No other plugins are running;
Issue remains in all three web browsers;
Website is running https;
WordPress install is almost as clean as they come.
