Hi anonwebsitebuilder,

Using the mobile theme plugin, you’ll gain a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to create a new content for pages because in the most of cases those were made with builders or shortcodes ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) and you need to use only the mobile editor ( you need to set the content for pages in mobile editor and this content will be display on mobile theme)
-> https://i.imgur.com/9d0UWLT.png
Unfortunately if you are using same plugin for shortcodes, this will not work on mobile theme, it will be interpreted as a html text, this will work only on responsive version. Also because amp plugin is use with mobile theme plugin the shortcode will not work on amp too, only if you do not use the mobile theme for amp.

Also you can show the responsive version on mobile theme -> https://i.imgur.com/m0bVB5T.png you can check more details about mobile theme in our documentation -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ or if you want to have the responsive version only, you can use the amp option from mobile theme -> https://i.imgur.com/oofST3D.png (to use the mobile theme template on amp) or you can disable the plugin.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

When the mobile version or amp is displaying on desktop is a cache problem, we recommend to use WP Super Cache plugin, this is a free plugin and tested with our theme, also we have a guide for the settings you should do -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ also if you are using other cache plugins please deactivate them and make a test.

Also using the mobile theme plugin, you’ll gain a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to create a new content for pages because in the most of cases those were made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) and you need to use only the mobile editor ( you need to set the content for pages in mobile editor and this content will be display on mobile theme)

AMP Ads - topic

Hi, I downloaded the plugin for the mobile theme and the one for AMP, I activated and set everything. I entered the ads codes in the ‘Mobile Ads’ boxes (I don’t have Adsense and I can’t enter the codes because there is only this slot available for AMP ads) because someone on this forum had said that the ads were shown both on the version mobile and AMP, but it doesn’t seem to be like that.

In the AMP version, ads are not shown. How can I solve this problem?

Dear Calin,

the overall score is not the problem, the problem for the mobile as the desktop theme is the cumulative layout shift which is part of the web core vitals. As you can see the CLS is for

Desktop: https://i.imgur.com/7ckfgfG.png 61% (green) 11% (orange) 28% (red) the time is 0,28s but Google only allows a maximum of 0,25s. Otherwise the page is categorized as poor. In my case all 175 sites are categorized as poor because of a to high layout shift. I don’t use any Google Fonts and I have deactivated the Font Awesome for the menu, but there is a problem that persists. When I prove the desktop-site with the Google Plugin for Chrome to count the Webcore Vitals I get a bad score as soon as I scroll up and down. As you can see it here: https://www.topfgartenwelt.com/cumulative-layout-shift

And if the CLS is not fixed the site never matches the Speed Test. But that will be a big problem in future because that will be a ranking factor.

Is there nothing in the desktop-version like this (as you mentioned for the mobile version) that could cause the problem with the layout shift: wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js and search for tdAffix.init(“td-header-wrap”)??

Hi,

I have been trying to insert my custom shortcode into mobile theme but it is not working. Desktop version looks good, but amp version shows the shortcode, not the text it is supposed to return. Can you advise this basic functionality is available for this theme or not? Or any workarounds please?

Thanks,

Nagarig

Exactly… and this should not happen. So you have to disable this function of the mobile theme.

Ok. But is there also a way to do it in the style.css for the mobile theme? If yes, where I can find it in the style.css?

Greetings Kathrin

I am using Google auto ads option. Now if I install your Official AMP for wordpress & mobile theme plugins, do I have to use your ad manager (or another ads plugin) to set ads locations or will the ads be placed automatically by the google?

Thanks & Regards…… Renu Bakshi

It’s attempting to load a td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/assets/images/thumb-disabled/td_265x198.png. I feel like there isn’t a thumb profile being made for the mobile version. I have tried the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin and it did not have the ones that seemed to be required.

The mobile theme requires the “265×198” and the “741×486” thumbnail sizes in order to show the featured images properly.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

See above your website says they need those two thumbnail sizes.

Hello,

I would like to add a custom js code in mobile theme.

The js tag is:

<script type="text/javascript" class="teads" async="true" src="//a.teads.tv/page/xxxxxx/tag"></script>

Your guidance says: ”
Add custom JavaScript easly, using this editor. Please do not include the <script> </script> tags.”

How will I transform this script accordingly?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I think that you can test this, you can make a sub-domain for tests and set there the theme with mobile theme without extra plugins and code and check the mobile speed, after that add the plugins for speed up the theme.

Thank you!

Hello,

I have the same problem, the search box is on working. It does on the mobile version but it´s not showing anything when you click the icon on the desktop version.

I think the problem comes from the last theme update, because it was working before. I didn´t do any changes in the code and I´ve checked the icon in different pages and deactivated plugins but the icon doesn´t show anything.

Please, let me know what else I can do.

Thanks

The theme is sending so many requests to the server causing using so much resource usage.
Server log shows these files and IPs (Those IP are of TagDiv?):

Where can I increase the space around the H1 (Post Title) in the mobile theme? I want to have more blank space between the post title and the start of the content.

Thank you very much!

Hi,

Please note that mobile theme plugin is different from responsive version, on responsive version the ads can get any size you select -> https://i.imgur.com/dtzQ1jh.png on mobile theme it will be display one the set one 300×250 also if the ads are deliver by a specify dimension -> https://i.imgur.com/JpKuEZC.png like this it can not be change, as you can see -> https://i.imgur.com/OPOgAJ9.png the space for ads is bigger but the ads is smaller.
About common sizes for display ads -> https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7031480?hl=en

everything working fine in mobile theme, you can check the same category page (https://www.thebharatexpressnews.com/category/india-news/) in mobile view, all featured image or thumbnail showing for all posts.

But what elements? Instead, we have already removed extra elements by theme. Like post views, comments, tag, source, etc. There is nothing extra that should cause a slow mobile theme speed.

Hi,

If that code is set a functions, then you need to set it in mobile functions too -> wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/functions.php

The wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/ can not be set in a child theme only the files specific in our documentation can be set in child theme.

Thank you!

Hello !

It looks like you are using Mobile theme.

The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme.

You will have to recreate your pages into the Mobile editor or completely disable the mobile theme. The mobile editor will not render shortcodes !

Also you can disable mobile theme on certain pages or posts by following this setting:

Please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Mobile theme plugin can be disabled from Newspaper Plugins as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/LnkZCEVC

Thank you !

Hi Nagarig, that means that there are still some elements that are not compatible on mobile theme or there are other elements that are slowing the mobile theme version.
As I can see now you have 53 for mobile theme -> https://i.imgur.com/rz93D1S.png but this is move more faster then 53.

Thank you!

Hi web@apmarketing.de,

The mobile theme plugin is use to gain a better page speed for mobile devices, but, you need to set a new content for pages in mobile editor without using any builders. Also is not necessary to use it, you can use the responsive version.

Also the top bar with top menu will not be display on mobile devices, this will be display on larger screens only. The mobile device is using anther type of header, is not the one from desktop, therefore this top menu will not be display. In some cases you can use code to display it but this is not working anytime.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hello,

For our AMP pages on your newspaper theme, we are trying to edit the_content using
add_filter( ‘the_content’, ‘prefix_insert_post_ads’ );

Normal pages work, but AMP doesn’t. Are you removing that filter, what can we do to edit content?

We want to be able to add certain tags after a number of paragraphs.

Also please tell us how to properly edit the wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/ theme in the child.

Thank you

I still have an issue. I can set the (SVG width), but the image doesn’t get centered.

If I use the mobile theme, then the image gets displayed properly on a real mobile device. But, I don’t want to use the mobile theme.
