Hi – We are using Newsmag for our website: http://www.inspirelle.com. I just noticed an issue with the Menu bar — hen I look at our menu bar on my iphone 6 plus, the second level subcategories are appearing but not some first level subcategories!

For example under INSPIRE, Health/Wellness and Portraits (first level subcategories) don’t appear, but the second level subcategories of Culture (Books, Exhibitions, Music) do appear.

We need the first level subcategories to appear and NOT the second level ones. Also, the second level subcategories are appearing at the same level as the parent category. We would like for there to be differentiation.

For Example:

under INSPIRE, we should see the following in the drop down menu:

Culture
– Books
– Exhibitions
– Music
Fashion & Style
Health & Wellness
Portraits
Sexuality

But what I currently see under INSPIRE is:

CULTURE
BOOKS
EXHIBITIONS
MUSIC
FASHION & STYLE

If the second level are pushing out the following first level subcategories I’d rather not see the second level subcategories on our mobile menu and just see first level subcategories

Is there a way to fix how the child or subcategories appear on the mobile menu ?

Hi Andrei,

Thank for the reply.

Yes, I want to display content for mobile and tablet only, however, a bit more complex, I will try to be more details:

( In my test: Tablet Landscape treated as Desktop, Tablet Portrait treated as Mobile, so I don’t care about Tablet Landscape )

Data structure:

Desktop: contents A
Mobile: contents B
Tablet ( Portrait only ): contents B

So I want Mobile and Tablet Portrait show the same contents but If I use only td-visible-phone, users on Tablet won’t see it, so I have to use both td-visible-phone and td-visible-tablet-portrait every time, the code is too long and not good for optimization.

Your code above seem to work, will it work for my case ( and could you explain more in css and html? ) ?

Thanks

HI

Not sure what you mean, but if you want to display some content only for mobile and tablets, you can use media queries like here: http://screencast.com/t/RS1cykl3QU

@media (min-width: 1021px) {
.td_block_1 {
display: none;
}
}

If this is not what you mean please provide more details, also a some images will help a lot.

Thanks!

Hello,

I have tested this myself and there really seems to be a bug with the slider on the mobile version. Unfortunately, we cannot make a quick CSS fix for it at the moment because we need to inspect what causes this problem. I have passed this information to the developers and they will come up with a solution as soon as possible.

Thank you for pointing this out!

Hello,

Please help with the following.

1. When in “normal” vertical mode, the slide displays correctly when site first loads. No problem:
Mobile display - vertical mode - no issue

2. When viewed in horizontal mode, title and image get distorted.
Horizontal view. Issues with post title and image.

3. When returned back to homepage, issues with thumbnail and title text. Also, additional white spaces show up below the slide.
Vertical issue - ging back to home page form horizontal view

I need your help with resolving this issue if possible with custom CSS.

Thanks!

Hi,

Please disable the mobile version from Jetpack, as the theme has already a version for mobile device.
Regarding the pagespeed please check this guide to optimize it – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thanks!

Hi,

Here you can change it for mobile menu – http://screencast.com/t/IoqxNmyLeOG

Hello vasik,

The mobile version of the theme was not designed to display the top menu. Further customization of the menu is very specific to your case. It depends on your setup. You have to provide more details to how you want it to display and also provide a link to your website.

Thank you!

Also, you can see that the page is broken on mobile here too.

I just purchased. Installed the tech demo. Opened my Android phone with 5.0.1 Android. Opened my site and I get junk. If I click the button to show the full site it works. Check it out. VRUX.co If it looks OK, go to the bottom and choose show mobile site and you’ll see it’s broken. Very disappointed that you didn’t bother to test this. Please fix it.

Ok, so now I’ve fixed the first issue, but it’s not yet fixed on mobile. Where’s the code I need located to do the same fix I applied for mobile?

Thanks!

Hello,

We put a new ad on the header:

<script src="http://bs.serving-sys.com/BurstingPipe/adServer.bs?cn=rsb&c=28&pli=14974408&PluID=0&w=728&h=90&ord=[timestamp]"></script>
<noscript>

</noscript>

There is no problem on desktop but a large gap appears below the banner on mobile site:

Banner

Is it because the code or the theme? How can we fix this?
There is no such problem with AdSense, by the way.

Thanks!

Hi

By default the theme doesn’t display the top bar on mobile devices but you can use this custom css in theme panel > custom css to display it: http://screencast.com/t/edqs9T92

@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-top-menu {
display: block!important;
padding: 7px;
}

Note that you may need some additional css customization to the layout, as the top bar wasn’t designed to be displayed on mobile devices.

Thanks!

Hello,

I have a problem with images failing to render on posts. The problem persists on both mobile devices and computers. The areas with images remain blank, only the image caption shows. On clicking the space where the image is supposed to be, the image loads and only then when you go back will the image load in the article.

When I fetch and render with the “Fetch as Google” tool, the bot can see the images, but the human visitor version does not render the images.

Here’s an example post with image rendering problems.

I have tried to diagnose by disabling almost all plugins and activating one by one to no fix. Kindly help.

Thanks,
Alex.

Ha, I figured it out. Did not need to change the code you provided with. I just went into the theme panel and just disabled the social icons from the top bar and they were gone on both desktop and mobile. I have the social icons showing in footer. That is solved.

I was wondering how to remove the social icons from the top in this code. What needs to change in code to remove the social icons on mobile?

Hi

By default the avatar image is centered on mobile devices, you can check that on our demo: http://screencast.com/t/X07ZAq8nUHI Try to clear all caches, deactivate the plugins, except Visual Composer and test this again, also make sure that you’re using the current theme’s version available on themeforest which is V2.2.
Let me now how it goes and if the problem persist please provide your site url so I can inspect it closer.

Thanks!

Hello Thierry,

Please disable all of your plugins except visual composer and see if the problems are still there. Sometimes these errors come from plugins. Normally the sidebar should move under your content on mobile devices, not in it’s original position, so the fact that it is sticky or not does not matter.
Try it without plugins and let me know how it goes.

Thank you!

Hi,

If you use the default header style(1) the header ad appears above the menu on mobile device. If you add more custom ads bellow the menu, they will show up bellow the menu also on mobile.
Regarding 10 ads in the sidebar, the sidebar was designed to be displayed after the post content on mobile device so the ads will appear after the content(more accurate bellow the comment area). On page depends how you create it, for example if you use 1 row and add blocks there like this – http://screencast.com/t/jQtOPTV2xW The Sidebar will appear on mobile after the last block element from 2/3 column(in my case block10).
You can create your page and check it, just resize the browser window to see how it looks on mobile.

Thanks!

Hi,

The theme ad system was designed to work with adsense code, but you cannot add 2 codes in the same spot if this is what you mean.
A solution to have another ad(code) on mobile device will be to paste your code in a custom ad and use do_shortcode function to place it bellow the menu. I don’t know what header style you use, but for example if you use the default template(style 1) you will have to edit header-style-1.php file something like this – http://screencast.com/t/lNgxrndDO If both codes are adsense you can control the them from Theme Panel(disable/enable on specific devices) – http://screencast.com/t/qpivlfocehttp://screencast.com/t/Zm5sI295oJ If one of them is not adsesne you can use those div containers – https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ad/

<?php echo do_shortcode('[td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_1"]');?>
