i’m preparing my site to change a template for excellent newspaper theme but i want to use qoute post format on my own homepage in block (example in block 7, without featured image) but to see the special style of this qoute post format i must go into them. I want to see this special style on my homepage (not only in post) and no need to click and go into the post. so i need that ex. block 7 must display the_content (not the_excerpt) only for qoute post format. I need to use it as post format in block because i have a category qoutes on my site.
and also i’ll need to display the articles in this category quotes, for example, in Module 2 with the_content but not with excerpt, for only qoute post formats.
Qoute post format will be only in qoutes category and in this category will be only qoute post format.
I’m using a child theme.

I have just purchased this theme and I am trying to get the Homepage _Blank template to display my page correctly!
I am using Visual Composer to set the page content and have created a 2/3 + 1/3 row, with content in Column 1 and a widgitized Sidebar in the next column and I have selected the correct template within the page settings.
But the sidebar does not show correctly at the side it shows below the content!!!

I really do appreciate the time and support you have given me and have added this to my categories. Strange thing is the the duplicate title tags seem to be coming from categories I don’t have! lol I love WordPress

these are the default theme ads spots.
you can create some custom ones but those custom can be used only on sidebars.

Hello,
I hope you’re having a great day. I would like to know if there is a way to use the visual editor to customize the layout of all the different pages provided in the Theme Panel.
As of now, we can customize the sidebar only, but I’d like to know if there is a way to ad a Tagdiv Ad box at the bottom of the pages, or do any other type of customization using the visual editor.

It works.
When I assign it to different pages sidebar is where the problem appears.
I have 5 different sidebars, each one with a custom menu.
When I assign each sidebar to a different page I have no problem.
When you return to make any changes to any of the pages, the relation between the sidebar and the page disappears, and if I do not look for, when you upgrade, the sidebar disappears.
Likewise, when I come back to check the widgets assigned to each sidebar, the menus have disappeared.
It is like if it not be saved in the database.
I have previously worked with a several wordpress templates and never have this issue.

Well i’ve tested a clean php code (without image) that they provide for php in a single script with and without api key and it returns the correct count immediately. Then i’ve tested that clean code within functions.php (and added the created shortcode in the post template) and it delays. Then i’ve tested the clean php code by adding it directly to loop-single.php (without shortcode) and it also delays. So i think it doesnt have anything to do with the sharedcount api or response time, but with the page rendering. For example, category pages that dont contain this code are loaded instantly. Somehow the post pages rendering slows down.
All tests were done without caching to measure respone time.

I’ve changed the setting according to your solution.
But I get this problem:
1. The slider is not a full width slider
2. The slider image is above the frame with empty space below the image
How can I make the slider above the sidebar & content?
3. The width is no longer 3/4 + 1/4 , making the sidebar too wide and the content place too small.
Is that possible to have 3/4 + 1/4?
I can see that you have 1/4 + 3/4 in the layout setting, can you add one more in the future template update?

For block works only if you use the full layout in visual composer and use the Default template with sidebar that force the layout on 2 columns.
On my sites, the ad in top bar, below article, and sidebar already “auto center” using the “responsive” AdSense code from Google.
I think Marius needs to know an example (a case) where you are having the ads NOT centered, such as a custom block of text, or what exactly. A link to page, post, or where you’re using the AdSense code on your site and if you’re manually putting into your template or using the Newspaper theme admin panel “AD” boxes to insert the code.

you can have only one section of the page with background image.
create a page , use the template Homepage- bg + .. or Homepage - bg - .. then set the Slide background with your custom image (URL to the image) save the page and open it.

in Theme Panel -> Template settings ( http://screencast.com/t/NZRoEvz2Pj ) you have the option to add custom sidebars for the post pages. but I think that you have to create a custom sidebar for each post.

Hi, I finally migrated the old site to the new template. Everything so far seems to be going okay – except for some issues with comments migrating. Here is the problem:

Yes. Sort of. Technically there is a hack for the WordPress core code for the thumbnail generator — not part of the theme.
However great news for all! The hack widely used (done back in 2011!!!!!), is being rolled into WordPress 3.9 ( $crop parameter in the add_image_size function ).
So, wait just a little bit for WP 3.9 which will solve a wide variety of the “duh” things folks have been asking for since WP 3 launched.
I’m sure once 3.9 is live, Radu/co will put the option in there someplace, since crop from top vs middle-out is more useful for most.
There is a plugin I recommended to somebody else this past week here on the forum, which allows you to specify crop position on upload of image, in a 9 box grid (should be built in to WP, but isn’t).
E.g., in WP 3.9
the functions can be set as so with a crop direction
add_image_size( 'screenshot', 300, 300, array( 'left', 'top' ) );
WP 3.9 also adds HTML5 image galleries (won’t need to use JetPack!); and also audio/video PLAYLISTS!!
Page template filters will really help those who need more “different blah on page blah” stuff.
A site in use, installed the new theme, fantastic, I already have and use the theme Magazinly, congratulations.
I installed the plugin v.4.1.4 Slide Revolution.
Create New Template Slider , new slide created, configured to show only the last 5 post, all categories, sorted by date. Do not show anything, only the background.
Even in the configuration creating the slide Preview (is empty) button in the slide list (also empty), only “NO SLIDES FOUND, PLEASE ADD SOME SLIDES”.
I’ve tried creating new slide only for specific posts and nothing (is empty).
Stating: After creating the slide-revolution, a page (start) with visual composer, insert the slider revolution and use the same name created slide, but also on that page is all empty, only “NO SLIDES FOUND, PLEASE ADD SOME SLIDES “.
