Unfortunately, the category page don’t use a template as homepage, but you can change the layout http://screencast.com/t/bfULSqPnl2 and you can select the module 1, module 2, etc.

I have another trouble with the template of category page which I cannot access to. Could you show me how I can set the templates (which can be modified in the Customization)? The only thing I could see is the template for Homepage.

There are a couple of questions I want to ask (which i couldn’t find the answer on this forum) about the sample page on themeforest:

I need urgent help… can’t edit or create Posts or Pages.
Very frustrating.. so many errors.. got be honest, this is my last attempt to make this work properly or I’m giving up on this template. Errors in each version, things that break when you have a new version.
I did a full clean new installation after all the problems since updating 1.3.

Hello I can’t seem to get my homepage setup. I follow the documentation instructions and pick an template. The big slider doesn’t show up and the background image shows up just a little bit. I left some links to pics to show you what I’m talking about.

when I go to theme customizer > Newspaper Template options
Blog – Layout
[module]
there is no list of what the function of each module does in the documentation.
What is module1, vs module2 ~ 8 ?
While I can cycle through all of them for the quick default home page layout, in some cases things like the date archive just reloads home page when trying to test the different modules.
I may be missing something, but I can’t seem to locate the list of “MODULES” for default layouts in any of the docs ? This would also be useful for t he “customize the categories” option.

I am using the homepage-blank template and used the page builder to build the frontage and am wondering if I can insert a background to the slide block as it is on the demo page on the hompepage with background option? I am currently using a site background also from the customize section for the entire website. can the two be combined?
I don’t know why, but the count of comments on the authorspage is always less and inaccurate.
Is this because i had before another templaten?

I’ve been running my site (www.wowdiets.com) with the Newspaper theme for a couple of weeks. I’ve had the sidebar on the right but want to switch it to the left. I’ve changed the options for all pages templates to left sidebar. On some pages the sidebar is on the left, on some the right. I’ve tried with W3TC disabled and have cleared my browser cache. Any ideas?

Edit: I’m on version 1.4 of the template with a child template. The only change in the child template is to add Google Analytics in the header.php
Figured out pagination.

I setup a custom post type and wanted to loop through it on a page while preserving the theme, sidebars, etc. Ideally I’d want to create something like a custom block using something like the visual page editor to control how my custom posts display on a page. However, that’s probably not realistic.
So, my questions would be:
1. Is there a “blank” page template with just the settings in the theme available? Something that I can use as a base for setting up my page?
2. Is there a template for creating blocks so users could take your existing blocks and tweak them to maybe fit a custom post type or something else?

The templates from your message are the default wordpress templates. When you click on a tag for example wordpress will load the tag.php template (tag template).
From theme customizer you can customize the default wordpress templates… so for example on the search page to have a specific sidebar + a specific post layout etc…

I have a page template set up for my site’s homescreen and I’m having problems with pagination. If I click on next or the page number I get sent an blank image attachment page. You can see the behavior at http://www.fueld.com. Please advise me on what I need to do to get pagination working. Thanks.

– Search
– Blog index
– Tag
and others…
Could you tell me where this templates are accessed and I can create new pages using them?
When I create a new page the only templates I can access under “Page Attributes” are:
– Default Template
– Homepage – bg + with article list
– Homepage – bg + no article list
– Homepage – blank
– Homepage – with article list
– Page builder – with title

I can’t seem to find a “blog” template and am not sure how to go about creating a page that lists posts from a certain category as a blog style page like the link above.
Would appreciate a gentle shove in the right direction.
