I have the same two errors in my console and tried similar things. Also i deactivated mod_pagespeed.
So i was very happy not too use the slow visual composer anymore. I hope you could fix it!?

That is pretty strange indeed. It could be the Pagespeed module that is enabled on the server that is causing the errors, since you ruled out any conflicting plugins and no other modifications were made to the freshly installed theme.
I don’t know how that system works, you could try if possible to test without it and see if there still are errors present.

@Catalin: So i’ve to remove almost all the style.css that my site uses to obtain an unique and more optimized css loading or remove style.css from the moved css files by speed booster. Anyway, i’ll try it on my test website which is the best way.
@Pierreto: I tried AMP and it doesn’t work correctly. Also, it is not officially supported by the template creators. My website have a very good optimization (https://gtmetrix.com/reports/gamesquare.it/8wMcYwjS – More than 90/100 in Mobile and Desktop score of Google Pagespeed and A-A-A-A-B on WebPageTest), so i don’t want ruin that by using an unsupported plugin.

after updating Newspaper to version 8, I see the following two errors in my console:

There are multiple causes for slow page speed. Some plugins are in most cases a negative factor in this matter. There are many optimization guides, tips and advice here on the forum that you can try as well.

First of all: Congrats for the new tagDiv-Composer! Excellent work! But I have a different question: My website’s mobile theme shows fullsize images instead of 741×486 in the Big grid M3 and mostly 533×261 instead of 265×198 on the rest of the frontpage. The images with the correct sizes do exist. I have no idea, why this happens. You can see the disaster on Googles PageSpeed, if you look after http://www.travel4news.at or http://www.cruise4news.at.

Ive done everything Gmetrix and other pagespeed websites ask me to do
I added CDN Cloudfare to the list
The website is still pulling 4 seconds to 5 seconds with 59 request for a grand total of 1MB

I just upgraded and got a nice bump in my google pagespeed rating on both mobile and desktop.
Tagdiv composer slowed the site speed (I cleaned all caches)

The AMP for WP – Accelerated Mobile Pages plug-in from this issue with AMP validator.
Extensions ‘amp-harmonics extension .js script’ and ‘amp-iframe extension .js script’ were found on this page, but are unused (no ‘amp-accordion’ tag seen). This may be an error in the future. deprecation.
Then on the site say sche how Google’s speed on Google’s pagepeed is 89/100, but it’s actually 68/100.

Yes, some things aren’t possible to optimize only via the theme alone, but when I test Newspaper vs. other themes (six other ones) out-of-the-box using the same test post content, Newspaper is always the slowest and has the worst scores (both on Google PageSpeed and GTMetrix).
Again, I love the theme, but wish it was better optimized for speed.

there is no way to use your td-mobile plugin for Thema Newsmag. Because I can not optimize for the mobile version this thema.
Using the speedBooster plugin, the mobile pages do not open fast.

Note – my California website found in the showcase has not been “re-optimized” — we had server crash, went to backup, then stopped tweaking with mod_pagespeed off, in favor of testing the move to http/2 … but still 89/91 when loading ads on page, with https, and with mod_pagespeed OFF and no caching plugin …. so…. it’s doable even when half-assed like mine are right now đ
