I am facing the same issue. I have correctly added the site key and secret to the theme’s Google reCAPTCHA module, but I keep getting the following error:

“ERROR for site owner: Invalid domain for site key”

To disable the reCAPTCHA feature, I selected the radio button to turn it off and saved the settings. However, after refreshing the page, the setting reverts to “enabled.” I have tried this multiple times, but I am unable to either make it work or fully disable it.

Also remember unless you disable or redirect the built in WordPress REST API stuff, folks can ping that to look for vulnerabilities like user ID, admin user, etc. Addihg redirect in your htaccess or a plugin is ideal. But be careful as some plugins rely on that to “do something’ – so good to look more deeply into overall security (page on the wordpress.org codex page, for instance). Recaptcha good place to start as thwarts bots.

Get down to the membership section on the general settings page. Uncheck the checkbox that says anyone can register on your website. This will prevent any visitors, man or bot, from being able to register as users on your site.

Since this newspaper theme Google reCAPTCHA didn’t work so I had to install another plugin to stop spam WooCommerce orders (Google reCAPTCHA v2-only on WooCommerce pages).

For all website pages you can see a reCAPTCHA icon on bottom right corner of the website but still I’m receiving warning message on Google reCAPTCHA website.

I am facing the same issue with reCAPTCHA v3 on my website. I have correctly added the site key to the theme panel, and the default score is set to 0.5. I also tried enabling and disabling the “Use Google reCAPTCHA global domain” option, but neither configuration resolved the issue.

However, on the Google reCAPTCHA website, I am receiving the following error message:

“We detected that your site is not verifying reCAPTCHA tokens. Please see our developer site for more information.”

Could you please help me troubleshoot this issue and ensure that the reCAPTCHA tokens are being properly verified on my site?

Anamaria, are there any plans to integrate Turnstile?

Want to start using the Opt-In builder and will need something to help guard against spam sign ups. Although Google Recaptcha is an option, Turnstile would provide a much better user experience.

Would be great to see it added to the list of suggestions.
