Heh. I thought I did ! Didn’t they add to the ‘best of forums’ tutorials page or something, at least.
Dunno. Have not been around here for awhile, only popped back in due to the subject of the impending ‘guterberg virus’ hitting WP with 5.0 (kidding; I mean the ‘feature’). 😉
Ideally they would pin link to that in the formal documents section – as a “securing your website” for folks reading the docs, as obviously this is kind of a “when setting up your site .. good idea to …” kind of thing.
I actually sent note to the WordPress core folk that they are long past due in adding an actual ‘security’ panel in the main WP admin with quick scan of system (e.g., if WooCommerce can check system why not WP core?), pointers for security best practices, etc. Seriously, how long did it take them to change the default admin account from ‘admin’ when setting up the WP core? Sheesh. And why not an option for a recaptcha at least on the password reset page? (esp in WooCommerce??). Why not an option to disable XMLRPC if not actually using it? Why not option to disable password reset screen entirely for corporate sites? Why not option to enforce superuser for non-multi sites which doesn’t get printed in the JSON and revealed as owner when building pages? The fact WP ‘exposes’ the main admin user building pages in WP, is incredibly stupid. Why not build-in something like the Limit Login Attempts plugin? Argh.
WordPress Security —
“good luck out there” — Automattic.
(sorry… venting … so irritated by WP more interested in Gutenberg than security priority … that should be focus #1, not #5).

Hello
As my title, could you please show me how to add Google Captcha into the register form. (I installed Google Captcha (reCAPTCHA) by BestWebSoft)

I have itheme plugin security and i enable reCAPTCHA and 2factors for security method:
2factors:
if i login in frontend show like this:
and nothing happend, but send me new code again
How solve this?
Hello,
Sorry but our theme does not have such a feature for the moment. You can try to use plugins that can provide a recaptcha feature but you will need custom modifications to ad it to the theme modal login, but unfortunately there is no solution we can provide in this regard. Sorry.
Thank you!
Newspaper isn’t most themes. I bet facebook and disqus have their own spam preventing actions.
So what do you recommend. Akismet is not free for commercial sites.
“you can also use third party captcha plugins, for simple captcha, or hook in Google’s system (‘I am not a robot’)”
I wanted to use a captcha like recaptcha from google via a plugin. It is displayed but you dont have to click it before submitting the comment.
Can you recommend any captcha plugin, that is working with your premium newspaper theme? The most plugins i’ve tried don’t show up anything at the comment form.
“and of course many sites choose not to have comments anymore at all due to 90% being spam and not adding anything to posts except troll comments — ahem, much like yours”
This is not many sites, i want to have comments. I want to have these 10% human comments.
For me it sounds just like pretext.
“I want a captcha” – “Most themes don’t have captcha. Many sites choose not to have comments anymore.”
I mean, this is no special wish, it’s standard.

Thanks Guess Ill do that 🙂
Still waiting on Recaptcha for the Join/Login Modal I just cant believe this them does not have recaptcha functions
Hello ArgBursatil,
Unfortunately, as you can see, the theme does not have any such an option for reCaptcha, sorry! You should use such a plugin and then if you know and if you have some solid skills you should implement it in our modal login. If you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring somebody which has coding skills because we cannot help you in this case, because we cannot provide custom work, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Carel,
You can search the forum for more insight provided by our users and try the solutions that work for them. Like this topic for example – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/recaptcha-on-user-registration-pop-up/
Please note that no such plugins were tested with the theme at this moment, and there could appear compatibility issues.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi! I recently installed Google Invisible reCAPTCHA plugin so I have the WordPress login/register page (https://argentinabursatil.com/wp-login.php) protected as you can see the recaptcha logo at the bottom right of that page.
But I like using the theme login modal for my site and I don’t know if it is working with Google Invisible reCAPTCHA.
Thanks for your support and congratulations for your work!
Yes. I totally agree.
This is a nonsense. What would it cost you to work on integrating something like google recaptcha plugin.
I am having an issue with returning customers that cannot login when trying to purchase from wooCommerce.
There is no reCAPTCHA box for the users to click in which means that get an error saying that an incorrect value has been entered.
It was showing for the wp-admin login, but I have disabled it for the moment so that users can login
Does anybody know what this might be?
This guy, biznizat, is just totally RIGHT.
This is a huge problem of Newspaper`and it has been the same for 3 years..
PLEASE DO SOMETHIG. WE ARE GETTING THOUSANDS OF SPAMS and we cannot add recaptcha our way in this AJAX registration form.
+ not choosing password at registration is a total non sense. That makes people go out of the website and never come back if they dont get the email
Hello,
I have the same problem using 2 plugins for reCAPTCHA:
https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/invisible-recaptcha/
https://ro.wordpress.org/plugins/google-captcha/
Any suggestion?
Hello bformhals,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option for Recaptcha in our modal sign in functionality, sorry! If you want to have it on your theme, notice that you should try using such a plugin with this functionality and check it how will work for you.
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Thank you for you to take a time for me.
I did what you said. After deactivating plugins and clearing cache, resetting password worked normally. And I reactivate all of them and reset password said “email not found” and I decided to try one by one. First I deactivated only “Google Captcha Pro (reCAPTCHA) by BestWebSoft” and clear cache again, and reset password is worked smoothly. I’m using ‘invisible reCAPTCHA’ option in this plugin. I deselect the option of “Reset password form” in plugin settings and now theme menu works normally. I don’t know if the problem related to plugin or theme but I wrote both of you about this problem.
Have a good day.

Please consider adding integration with the popular Recaptcha plugins or added to core files for future Newspaper updates. This would be huge for your customers and future customers! Due to brute force attacks, Recaptcha is a must-have. The login/register popup is beautifully done, I would love to use it, but the only hang up is the must-have Recaptcha.
One of most annoying things about WordPress is that even popular plugins like Theme My Login or AJAX Login don’t have Recaptcha for both login and register. Have spent hours searching the internet for plugins that do this and haven’t found many, sans installing a bunch of stuff I don’t need – just need the Recaptcha + register/login. It would be a huge selling point for Newspaper theme to add Recaptcha integration.
Hello junaiddar,
Please notice that the Contact Form 7 is fully tested with our theme but the Recaptcha V2 do not, sorry! Notice that is an untested plugin which can interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown issues with the theme and also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
I am using contact form 7 and using recaptcha v2 as a spam filter. Unfortunately, I have tried different plugins but the recaptcha still gives the following error: ERROR for site owner: Invalid site key
Can you please confirm if its compatible with the website or any recommendation on the plugin I can use would be great. I am using it in my contact form. I have entered the recaptcha keys many times to make sure its correct.
I am now doing testing on our staging site:
http://clnnew.staging.wpengine.com/
What can I use for anti-brute force on the login page? Any approved captcha or recaptcha options?
What about a workable Ads Manager for WordPress that will work with your theme? I just want to put in rotating ads. Nothing fancy.
Anything from CodeCanyon like WP AdPress or Ads Pro Plugin?

Hi,
I can understand that you can not test the individual plugins. But actually it is very sad that the login in your theme has no protection. You could at least install a security, the spam is nowadays a real problem and through your login form you can spam alien people or simply log in automatically.
Unfortunately, the installation did not work despite your screencast and this help from WordPress ReCaptcha Integration https://github.com/mcguffin/wp-recaptcha-integration/wiki/Custom-Themes-and-Forms not worked. Do you have a tip? Or can you redirect the login link to the standard login instead of your login pop-up?
Hi,
If you would like to implement this functionality in the login, you should follow the instructions provided with the plugin you are trying to use. There must be some information regarding code placement or other modifications that have to be made.
