Hello,
We only recommend using the 3 highlighted row layouts with our theme as the blocks were designed to only work with those columns: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
As for the images, you will have to regenerate your thumbnails for them to fit properly inside the blocks. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Thank you!

Hello MESOTU,

Yes, I suspect to be a problem regarding on your thumbnails. Please try to regenerate your thumbnails using the Force Regenerate and Thumbnails Regenerate, clear all your caches and test it again. For more information about this, please consult this topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/auto-resize-image-on-big-grid-slide/
For your problem 2, please ensure that this type of issue does not come from your untested plugins. Try to disable all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out this conflict. Also, if your problem is still there, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer.

Thanks.

HI

Yes you can purchase Newsmag theme and use it instead of Newspaper. After you switch from Newspaper to Newsmag you have to regenerate your thumbnails and also make sure that you remove from pages all blocks that are not present in Newsmag theme.
Before makeing any changes make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and to the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Let me know if you need further assistance on this.
Thanks!

Hi,
Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer (including any image optimization tools), clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Then use the force regenerate plugin to regenerate your thumbnails.
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thank you!

If i edit the articles instead of the future image i have one x.

Thanks Alin, I have tried before with thumbnail upscale and force regenerate thumbnails but it didn’t work, maybe I was doing something in the wrong way..

Just to be sure, I installed GD Library, because I’m not sure that it was installed when I tried before, and I’m running a complete thumbnail regeneration..

I will report back in a while because there are 12k images to regenerate 😛

Hi,

From what I see your thumbs are not generated, please try to regenerate them using Regenerate Thumbnail or Force Regenerate and see how it goes. Also please make sure you have GD Library installed as wordpress requires it for cropping. You can see it in your Cpanel, if not, contact your hosting provider.
Let us know how it goes and if the issue persist please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a closer look.

Thanks!

Hi

We didn’t tested RSS aggregator plugin with the theme and we’re not aware of its functionality in order to provide an answer. By default the theme does not create any custom post type, it uses the default ones from WordPress, also the theme does not affect feed system. That system is generate by WordPress and can be customized using some specific plugins but the theme does not have any features which can change it.

If you don’t want the urls created by RSS aggregator plugin try to deactivate it then regenerate your sitemap so search engines won’t index these links anymore.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. In my case it only for a few fixed posts which will not be updated. Is it possible to circumvent to auto-regeneration of the theme itself? I know how to shut-down auto-regeneration of WordPress itself but not of the theme. I think that if it does not auto-regenerated a few specific uploads, i might do the trick without custom css.

Hi

The theme uses thumbs with a specific size on mega menu and after you regenerated the thumbs in your wp-install were created these images. To have a bigger thumb for one specific item you’ll need either a contrition in mega menu or a custom css which makes the image bigger. Also you’ll need some adjustments for all mega menu because if you change the style for one element it’s a chance to be affected and other elements.

Thanks!

Hello,

1) The thumb does not get created for the big grid. Please make sure you have the proper thumbnail selected here: http://screencast.com/t/0NdSS7ezS9q and then use the force regenerate plugin to regenerate your thumbs.
2) and 3) There is a limit for the size of images you can upload into wordpres. This is seen here: http://screencast.com/t/iFO8BDV3GAqT
You can use this guide to increase this limit: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Thank you!

Hi,
The module in the mega-menu will not receive the new thumbnail if you do not change the code here: http://screencast.com/t/6y2P5wG9KPR5
As for the regenerate, try to use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/
Thank you!

Hi,

I think I might need further assistance in solving #4.

Here’s what you said:

“4. I’ve checked your site and you’re using the default thumb for block 6: http://screencast.com/t/jPzMgHEOkcn if you want to use a higher value for the thumb make sure that after the code is modified you regenerate the thumbnails.”

I got your point, tried to tweak it but sadly being confused on how to solve it.
(to make sure I got right: I need to change higher value for the thumb more than 300×194 to fit into a 300×194 spaces)

Is there any simple way to do it?
*let’s say to change the value to 340×220

thanks

Hi there

We’ve several licences of your theme but only on one site problems with the behaviour of the big grid images. If we post a video-article with a featured video, the system takes a snapshot of that video, but unfortunately in the wrong size. It’s 640x360px and to small for the first box of our big grid on home.

Tried to regenerate images, but the problem occurs again and again each time we post new video-articles.

Any ideas?

Hi

1. What exactly do you want to change in mobile menu? The settings for colors can be found in theme panel > theme colors: http://screencast.com/t/LIPUyEomQQ
Please provide some exact detail about the desired result so I can inspect it closer and get back to you with a more accurate answer.

2. The functionality of search buttons is the same, the only difference is in layout. However the response time may be influenced by how well your site is optimized and how fast queries are made.
make sure that your server meets the requirements specified in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/ also check if the parameters from system status have the values indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

3. We always include in theme’s path last version of Visual Composer available when the update is released. You can’t directly download Visual Composer from themeforest unless you bought it. Currently we test V 4.12 and after everything is ready a new update will be released.

4. I’ve checked your site and you’re using the default thumb for block 6: http://screencast.com/t/jPzMgHEOkcn if you want tu use a higher value for the thumb make sure that after the code is modified you regenerate the thumbnails.

Thanks!

Hello zingolo,

First of all, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
This theme behaviour regarding on hover on mobile it seems to come from your untested plugins which interact with the theme and which might cause a lot of unknown issues. Also, the problem which you have mentioned regarding on zoom in might come by some ads which are not correctly set (if you are not using the AdSense code and if you are using other ads and these are not added with div method might appear some behaviour like this) -> for more information about this method you should consult this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/
Regarding on your Big Grid, please try to regenerate the thumbnails. -> http://screencast.com/t/d3jOHMWvHA For more information about this process, please refer to this topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/block-images/
Also, for more information about low resolution for images in mobile mode, please check this topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/feature-image-on-mobile-is-low-resolution/

Hope this helps!

Hi,
the image quality is also affected by the compression. Please reduce it and regenerate thumbnail again .There is no compression method that does not reduce quality. Here is an example of how compression works: https://homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~ece533/project/f06/aguilera_rpt.pdf
Thank you!

Hello admindoxa,

I have noticed that not all of images are displaying good because are too small to thumbs dimensions.
If you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate. For more information about these kinds of plugins, please consult their documentation here -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ Also, please ensure that the functionalities of these plugins are not affected by the other untested plugins that could create interference through the theme. Please notice that these types of plugins are not tested with our theme and we cannot provide support for the theme. We recommend them because a lot of our customer uses and they were satisfied to their functionality.

Hope this helps!

Hello sniperetn,

Upon further investigation, as you can see on your demo preview for Block 13, this is the default theme behaviour for this type of block/module. As I could see on your website, you are using the Block 13 without sidebar, using the full-width of the theme, right? So, this block uses the module 14 to display the feature image. In this case, the thumb is created as properly, with this sizes -> 696*385 px -> http://screencast.com/t/Q4aitWfJpL8o If you do not use the sidebar, the feature image was cropped to the thumb dimension and then with a bit of CSS it will be stretched to fit full width of the theme which is 1068px and that’s why your image is not clear because it loses quality. If you check our demo, you will see the same behaviour for this Block, like this -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-13/ -> http://screencast.com/t/QDr9R8kqkt and the same case appears on your website, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/r7hIXbIsbmjs
As a hint, as you can do in this regard, would be to change the thumb dimension from the module 14, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/7vYhy9B5qpf9 -> http://screencast.com/t/XciGoQrE and then you will have to regenerate your Thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnails or Fore Regenerate. Please notice that additional customization may be required and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

Hello anurugwo,

Unfortunately, our product does not have such an option that offers you a way for the theme to automatically pick the first image on a post as featured image, sorry! Please notice that the only way in this regard is to set the featured image manually from the panel. As a suggestion, you can try to find some plugins with this functionality and test how it will work with our theme. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend something like that because we have no tested any plugins in this regard, sorry!
