- TutorialsDefault Block Settings Guide
Hi,
The cloud library plugin is available for the Newspaper theme only. Newsmag is a simpler theme, with basic predefined templates and theme panel settings.
One of the the main differences between the themes is the cloud library, which is included with Newspaper. It contains a vast library of ready made templates, pages, blocks, etc. -> https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All and also provides the option to build and design any type of template, meaning for posts, categories, etc. with our composer.
It depends on your requirements. If you need a basic simple theme, then Newsmag is perfect. If you want to be able to customize almost everything in detail, then Newspaper is much better suited for that.
In case you want to switch to Newspaper, you could request a refund for Newsmag -> https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new and then you can purchase Newspaper.
Thank you!
Hi,
If needed, I suggest increasing these parameters and the wp memory -> https://prnt.sc/8vk0VGhiM9e6 We recommend the values mentioned in this guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Please try it.
Thank you!
Hi,
That should work fine. When you add the attributes to your variable product please make sure that you activate these options -> https://prnt.sc/LcSEkrlRgPKE Then they will appear inside the add to cart element in the composer -> https://prnt.sc/dj1oOsIstMzw I don’t think there are other requirements. Please double check.
Thank you!
Hi,
You could check out some templates that use the background featured image in the way that you mentioned, to see how they are made. Like these ones:
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/2262
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/1438
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/1449
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/855
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/802
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/415
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/414
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/410
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/single/Single/97
Basically in a row you add the single background featured image element and set a height for it -> https://prnt.sc/gtEttq_j0Nf4
Then inside that same row you add an inner row with the elements you want, and activate the absolute position for the inner row -> https://prnt.sc/z6-mr7WuOmJr and position it top or center or bottom. This way the inner row is positioned over the background image.
If you want to achieve a specific design and you can’t use any of the ready made post templates, I can help with it. You can send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login, also details or examples about the design you want.
Or, you could import a ready made template that looks the closest to your requirements, and customize that one instead of building it from scratch.
Thank you!
Hi,
Unfortunately there isn’t much we can do about that. Maybe its’ something temporary on their side. Did you test with the Facebook debugger?
As long as the required OG meta tags are loaded on the website, and I see you are loading them with Yoast -> https://prnt.sc/Wl-VvjlYnklE the sharing should work.
And normally if it works in the Facebook debugger -> https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug it works with most other socials. I tested a few posts and it seems to work -> https://prnt.sc/u9l4JNqqPQQt
Besides the OG meta tags there are some recommendations for the featured image size, but these aren’t exactly requirements -> https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/images/ It does say something important here -> https://prnt.sc/aFNQHT-1psvp
I suggest testing the post with the debugger, and then sharing it.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’ve seen such an issue before. The solution was to copy the code from the bottom of this guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ this one -> https://prnt.sc/VrfXD1L7AeIi and paste it the htaccess file, normally after the existing code. It can be done using the file manager from cPanel, or FTP.
Then the problem should be solved. I suggest trying it.
Or, if you want, I can do it. You can send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access to the website and also to cPanel or FTP. I will add the code and test to see if the issue is solved.
Thank you!
Hello tagDiv Support,
I am experiencing a serious issue with tagDiv Composer on my website using the Newspaper theme. The Composer has gradually become slower over time, and it has now reached a point where it consistently freezes whenever I attempt to add even a single element to a page. The browser eventually displays a “Page Unresponsive” message.
The issue was not present when I initially started building the website. Composer worked normally in the beginning, but performance degraded over time until it became unusable.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I have already completed:
• Switched PHP versions from 8.3 to 8.2 with no improvement.
• Confirmed PHP settings meet recommended requirements:
PHP Version: 8.2.30
PHP Memory Limit: 512M
PHP Max Input Variables: 10000
PHP Time Limit: 180 seconds
PHP Post Max Size: 1024M
PHP Upload Max Filesize: 1024M
• Created a staging site, and the exact same issue occurs there.
• Deactivated all non-tagDiv plugins, but the issue persisted.
• Checked the browser console and only found Content Security Policy report-only warnings and slow network messages. No obvious JavaScript errors were present.
• Tested Composer on multiple pages, and the freezing behavior continues.
• Cleared caches and tested after changing PHP versions.
My hosting provider is GoDaddy, and I am trying to determine whether this is related to a known issue with tagDiv Composer, a compatibility issue, or a server-related problem such as admin-ajax.php requests or ModSecurity interference.
Could you please advise if there are any known issues related to this behavior or recommend additional troubleshooting steps? If necessary, I can also provide administrator access, browser console logs, network request information, or any other details needed to diagnose the problem.
Additionally, could you let me know if there are any known compatibility issues with the current versions of Newspaper, tagDiv Composer, or GoDaddy hosting environments?
Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your guidance on resolving this issue.
Best regards,
Jesse

Hi,
Normally to make a block or grid or any element that displays posts, automatically display posts based on the type of template it’s in, these special filters are used -> https://prnt.sc/vOsiJhj9yVIB So in your category template, the blocks should be set to the special current category filter. It’s a dynamic filter that displays posts based on the category you are on.
But if besides that current category filter you also use IDs in the multiple categories filter to include/exclude, it will override the current category filter.
The posts that the block displays using the current category filter will belong there, it means they are in that category. Additional filtering can be done by tag, if that’s helpful perhaps.
To be honest I rarely see pages used instead of category pages. It’s not needed in most cases and it’s just more work. Maybe it was a viable method at the time when the theme did not have cloud templates. Or maybe it’s a viable method if you want personalized category pages, although you can have a category template for each category if you want, and also custom fields can be used sometimes. But in your case since you need more control and if it works for you with our current setup and requirements, then there’s no problem using pages.
Thank you!
Hello,
I am experiencing the “Layout sync error” (The editor expects 6 zones but the page is rendering 0) when trying to use tagDiv Composer on my homepage.
My hosting provider has already increased the server limits to meet your requirements, but the issue persists. Here is my current System Status:
PHP Version: 8.2
WP Memory Limit: 512M
PHP Max Input Vars: 5000 (Set in Plesk)
Max Execution Time: 300
Upload Max Filesize: 64M
Troubleshooting already done:
ModSecurity has been disabled.
AMP plugin is deactivated.
I tried creating a new page with “Page Builder Root” template, but the error remains.
Permalinks have been resaved.
Browser cache and theme CSS cache have been cleared.
Could you please help me identify what is blocking the editor from synchronizing the zones?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
I need to clarify something important regarding Google Discover requirements.
Google Discover has a strict rule: the featured image in the HTML must be ≥1200 px.
If I select 696 or 1068 in the Single Post Mobile Template, the HTML will not contain an image ≥1200 px.
As a result, the article may not be eligible for Discover.
This means that the recommendation to use smaller thumbnails (696 or 1068) might be good for PageSpeed, but it is bad for Discover eligibility.
For publishers who rely on Discover traffic, the only safe option is to keep Full – 1920 px in both desktop and mobile templates, and then optimize loading via srcset, WebP, or lazyload plugins.
Can you please confirm officially:
Does the Mobile Template still include the 1920 px version in the HTML srcset when a smaller size is selected?
If not, how can we guarantee Discover compliance without sacrificing performance?
Thank you!
Could you provide some screenshots or explain what is happeing when you try to edit with tagDiv Composer? Are you redirected to the 404 page? If so please ensure all theme requirements are set as outlined in our guide at https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/, including the mod_substitute code in .htaccess. https://prnt.sc/n7RWr-ghiM8M
Do you receive any error message?
Hi,
For the 404 issue, ensure all theme requirements are set as outlined in our guide at https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/, including the mod_substitute code in .htaccess – https://prnt.sc/MOTQ_U-ONsQG
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
Hi,
Usually, the solution is to add the code from the bottom of this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ meaning this one – https://i.imgur.com/q6RyLGA.png in the htaccess file. Then the issue should be solved.

Hi,
There are more situations when this can happen. I will recommend using a ssl – https://i.imgur.com/97yburK.png
After that, make a test using only the tagDiv Plugins to be sure taht none extra plugin is interfering. Check in a new page.
Make sure you have checked the theme requirements – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ and the mod_subtitue is added in your .htaccess file – https://i.imgur.com/6MZXkV0.png
Hi,
Is the error displayed on the website when you are logged out?
Make sure that the debug is set on false in wp-config.php – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ https://prnt.sc/3pAQEfQWPbfS
Hi,
Set the code mentioned in our guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ the last one at the bottom of the guide (mod_substitute).
After that, just save the permalinks from Settings > permalinks.
After that, check to see if the situation is resolved.
Hi,
If resaving the permalinks is not resolving the situation, please make sure that you have set all theme requirements as mentioned in this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/. Make sure this code is set – https://i.imgur.com/Ru7kszn.png
After that, please re-save to permalinks – https://i.imgur.com/S1uBqed.png
Thank you!
Hi robinspaul ,
Did you set the code mentioned in our guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ the last one at the bottom of the guide (mod_substitute). If the situation persists after you set that code in .htaccess, then please do a test using only the theme plugins to make sure that there is not a plugin conflict.
New site using NewsPaper Theme. All my images are displaying poor quality. All System requirements are meet. We are just starting to build out the site and noticed this issue.
