When I go to share an article via the Facebook button, it’s not pulling in any of the info specific to that article. How do I fix this?

Actually I’ve found more information about the issue.
Here we go:
When I keep the default sidebar the sharing buttons disapear from my event page.
When I set “NO SIDEBAR” and i use a “Events template” then the sharing buttons just shows up

I’m using newspaper + The events calendar (modern tribe) + jetpack.
Everything seem really to be working fine, except that I can’t make the “sharing buttons” show up in the event page.
When I go to my calendar and hit a single event to see more information about it, the sharing buttons are just not there, so I can’t share the event on Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp.
Could anyone help me with this issue?
I would like to be able to add a share row on pages like I have on posts.
There must be an option for pages just like posts, but I can’t see it.

I have updated to the latest October version, don’t know if the issue was in the older one too or if it is new.
The fact is it should not be there, it is a bug and should be fixed. Of course, if they don’t, I will probably order customization or if this kind of bugs/bad coding happen often will just look for another theme.
Chris, would you mind sharing a screenshot of menu for a category with no sub when inside that category? And which version do you have?

In order to add new social sharing buttons in the top or bottom sharing on posts, you will have to edit the theme code a bit. The theme has no settings to add any extra button so it will have to be added through the code. Here are a few examples:

Hi,
Here is a simplified way of adding a ‘share by email’ icon. It works for us, but you must update one theme file after each theme update. (won’t work by adding in child theme)
This method simply calls on the default mail client to open on a desktop, and does not use WP to actually send the email, which we did not want anyway, to avoid any spamming.
File: ../themes/Newspaper/includes/modules/td_module_single.php
I added this line after ‘Pinterest’ link and before ‘Whatsapp’:

As you can see in the screenshot, the post title and the meta info can’t be seen. I want the post to completely fill the screen on all devices.
When I share a post on Facebook from my Magazine website, it automatically includes includes the name of the category, then the name of the article (for the SECOND time), and then the date every time I share on Facebook. Is there anyway to eliminate one or any of those things so it just shows the name of the article and the beginning of the text? Having all those other things looks very unprofessional.

Ive been using the newspaper theme for almost a year and just found out about your smartlist option. Prior to this Ive been using Theia Post Slider to Navigate through my sub pages in post example https://www.fashionghana.com/site/day-3-windhoek-fashion-week-2016-namibia-part-2/2/ . However, after discovering your smart list I am now about to begin replacing all posts with theia post slider to your smart list, which is over 100 hence why I need the following questions answered.
1. TITLE: Theia Post Slider has a cool feature, where as with a title short code, you can actually change the name of the smart list page. This helps whilst sharing on social media, especially for the purposes I will be using the smart list for. Is there any way you smart list can give individual smart list slides their own title?
2. NUMBERING: Can you consider in your next upgrades a possible smart list option for smart lists that do not need numbering?
3. NEXT/PREVIOUS POSITION: There are some great smart list template options, I am much interestd in using smartlist 5 for the above, however the buttons only appear at the top. Is it possible to maintain the sliding properties of smartlist 5 whilst having buttons at the bottom.

I try to change several times the default “social sharing” of the theme panel under the post settings but nothing happens.
I want to use shareholic plugin to do the sharing of the post of my site, and I don’t want the default social buttons appearing, but when I try to deactivate them in the panel, it stays stuck and does not make the changes, after several minutes i refresh de page and all are in the same situation, the default sharing settings active.
I would like to know what happens and how to solve it, since in the documentation I have not found anything about it. They documentation only tell me to follow the procedure to “disable” the default buttons (i follow already several times), but in fact, I follow that procedure AND I CAN NOT DEACTIVATE THEM because they do not work.

Our theme does not add the OG image tag needed for the fb share. You will have to use seo yoast.

Our only site with Newspaper template http://www.elocuent.com is suffering from this issue starting octobre. whenever we/or users try to share to Facebook (and some other mor obscure systems like Flipboard) we either get errors (from share buttons or apps) or only see the link published as text (no extre metadata such as image or text)
All other sites with other themes and same plugins in the same server are working properly (just made sure it was theme related)
We disabled all plugins an still same
Until early octobre everything was working well.

4. Tab elements are provided by visual composer. There is no setting for a vertical tab though. As an alternative you could use an accordion element.
5. Sorry but the image you shown has nothing to do with the request. The image shows list types and the request is about author posts. You will have to provide more details
6. Again, the image has nothing to do with the question. You can set your own social sharing in the header and footer icons from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/IzPKtad0B8 but the post social sharing widget and the social counter do not have options to add any extra social sharing networks to them.

Our theme does not have any such option unfortunately. It was only added for the social counter. You can try to use css to alter them if you want. Here is an example:

Thank you for your appreciation.
1. Unfortunately a stretched row means to stretch it to the full width of the screen. That cannot happen with a sidebar so there is no way of having a full width row and sidebar as they will conflict with one another and break the layout.
2. We do not recommend using visual composer on posts at all especially on smart lists. Visual composer was only meant to be used on pages as this guide suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
3.Well the post sub-title was n ever meant to be a description. It was meant to be a small part of text not a full on excerpt. Please avoid any long titles or sub-titles. These are meant to be titles, not descriptions.

5. We always look to improve our theme. We are not up to 14 post templates and we plan on adding more but it takes time as they are not easy to make.
6. We did not add such a button as the comment section is just below the related articles. We did not see the point in creating a jump link fro the bottom sharing that goes 1 element down to the comment section. You can maybe add it in with customization if you need this feature. 7. We do not have any such plan for the moment, but I will add it to our list for suggestions and pass it on to the development team.
