- NewsmagSharing buttons
Hi,
You can try to use a plugin to do it, the theme dose not have a feature like that. You could try https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-share-buttons-adder/ or other similar.
Thanks
Searched. Nothing found. At least not that answered me. I want to have the sharing buttons on pages aswell – how can I do that?
Hi,
Glad you have managed to fix it and thanks for sharing!
Also tested this to make sure and you are right. Just added this on our todo list and we will try to fix this as soon as possible.
Thanks for reporting this!
Have a nice day!
These are actually very close to the same buttons used with the theme for the social sharing buttons without the number/shares info. 🙂
Most folk are just hacking that file in the theme to add more buttons.
Well, I’m not doing it on a WordPress site …
here is the basis for what I’m doing on our business site:
(tutorial, one of several out there with this specific code)
http://www.himpfen.com/social-sharing-buttons-bootstrap-font-awesome/
You can see how I’m using that code, slightly tweaked for our site here; scroll to very bottom of page (this is **NOT** using WordPress! — this is hand-built static code, based on Bootstrap 2 for compatibility with old folk running WinXP/IE6-7-8 in addition to all modern browsers):

Also, remember Ridiculously Responsive Social Sharing Buttons? There is a plugin for WordPress now, it looks great on Newspaper theme but it looks a bit messy..?
Hi
I am using this plugin to show sharing buttons on the site. But it is conflicting with the theme and it isn’t full width..I want it to be full width and responsive.
The plugin demo is responsive but as a result of theme conflict, it isn’t resposnive on the theme?
Please help
I’m not forcing any one to install no plugins,i’m just sharing what works for me with out any issues..it’s up to the user to install it at they own risk..bless
Note with twitter that once they cache a certain page, they don’t recache it once updated typically. I have this issue on couple of sites where we did some major updates and wanted to re share some pages, but both FB and twitter keep the OLD info, old photo, etc. and won’t update the NEW info, since they already have been “shared” the “old/bad” version. This may not apply to you, but keep in mind FB and Twitter have so much traffic and frequent technical issues, that sometimes there is simply nothing you can do about it as it has nothing to do with your site whatsoever.
Basically if you look at your page source and see all the properly formatted og:tags and twitter tags, description and title tags, then the issue is NOT with your site.
For example, I was sharing some stories from CNN to my G+ account, and all that was showing in the share was the photo and the page URL, no headline, and no description. Issue not with CNN, but with Google.
Likely doesn’t help, but it’s an on/off/on problem with sharing stuff to FB in particular, and sometimes G+. Twitter has been mostly stable, but they do have problems but they do at least have a developer page to SHOW what systems in their network are/are not working in realtinme.
Twitter status alert: http://status.twitter.com/
Twitter network/API status: https://dev.twitter.com/status
Facebook: Platform Live Status: https://developers.facebook.com/status/
example on Facebook Aug 1:
August 1 at 8:59am
Increased errors/latency on all Platform surfaces
Facebook is currently experiencing an issue that is affecting all API and web surfaces. Our engineers detected the issue quickly and are working to resolve it ASAP. We’ll update shortly.

Yep, it’s working on Facebook but still displaying incorrectly on Twitter. See here: http://take.ms/7xetB
You could likely comment that button out of the theme template (search forum as there are numerous threads on adding or removing buttons; as many people were wanting to add Pinterest for example).
For SEO you might want to keep it, simply for Google “good will….” …. and as far as low numbers, I’ve actually noticed a lack of shares for G+ on almost every major news portal I go to … 376 shares on twitter, 0 for G+ and I feel like a nutbag for sharing to my G+ page. So, I hear ya, man! We’re keeping G+ on all our sites until Google kills it.
Hello,
Try now, should work http://screencast.com/t/zJ0y2A1fGK7f
Seems like Facebook have a cache or something.
Thanks!

I have installed the SEO plugin by Yoast and added title and description which is showing when I right click > view page source. I have also done the same for social option in the SEO plugin by Yoast but when sharing the link to my homepage I still get this: http://take.ms/HMhfW (also happens on other social platforms)
For the sake of clarity here are screenshots of social and homepage meta information I have added in the SEO plugin by Yoast: http://take.ms/M0QpX and http://take.ms/k533C
I’d also like to add that I don’t understand the information when I add my URL here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ Please help!!

Hi,
Will take until you save the changes. You can check if the changes have been made like I said above.
Thanks
After changing it how long should it take for the changes to take effect?
Hi,
on all pages & posts, just above the sharing buttons it always says “aug 13, 2014 admin”. A date and author let say. In the theme template it is all switched off. I searched a lot in the code, but cannot find how to remove it. website: http://www.welketonic.be – screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/re8kgfxvu98xh74/Schermafdruk%202014-08-14%2011.41.50.png
Thnx for helping me out!

Hi,
Those meta tags are generated and inserted into the page, you can view them by viewing the page source of your site like this: http://screencast.com/t/KwwRSTqjX6O or you can use this debugger tool from Facebook https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ to check your sharing link http://screencast.com/t/eToDOoEqCM
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately not all of them can be achieved within the theme and i’m referring to the forth suggestion here, those separator between columns can’t be added because the grid was not designed to support that.
Regarding other suggestions they can be done trough the use of a plugin for that buttons for sharing you can use this plugin which I think it’s the same with the one used in your example https://wordpress.org/plugins/mashsharer/
The avatar can be added with some custom work or try to find a plugin that dose just that.
About the font size/zoom buttons you can also use a plugin if you want that, like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/zoom-widget/ or similar.
I will also add this suggestions on our feature requests list but because we have over 150 feature requests we have to pick very carefully what we implement. If more people request this feature we will try to do it within future theme updates.
Thanks for the message!
Thanks for that! I have installed the Yoast plugin.
For future reference could you tell me the path for the meta tags?
Hi,
Glad you figured it out!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi,
As you can see this is the description for your site http://screencast.com/t/FTNLA63urAW
You can change this using your seo plugin or you can use WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin, edit you homepage and the add your description here http://screencast.com/t/OG2ssGLXqu
Thanks
The title and description is not showing as expected when shared on social media. This is what it looks like: http://goo.gl/l3z7T0 – is this a problem with the theme?
Thank You Lucian
I disabled my CDN and the same issue persists.
The theme to be really forcing a ?resize=326%2C159
I am sharing my site with you through this
.
I would’ve preferred PMing it to you but it seems like we cannot
