Hi,

You have to move the social sharing buttons into the loop-single.php file like this:
http://screencast.com/t/UXhvFxkZpRvP
Should look like this: http://screencast.com/t/cqjCcmmrj

If you want to move the buttons for other post types as well then you have to make this change in each post template that you want to add/duplicate the social sharing buttons http://screencast.com/t/ksPN117v

Thanks

I know where I need to place any custom CSS code (in the ThemePanel reserved area)
But where are we to put any Custom JAVA code; i.e http://www.AddThis.com type?

<!– Go to http://www.addthis.com/dashboard to customize your tools –>
<div class=”addthis_responsive_sharing”></div>

<!– Go to http://www.addthis.com/dashboard to customize your tools –>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”//s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js#pubid=************************”></script>

Hi,

Yes, you can add the ARTICLE LIKE/TWEET/G+ buttons/counters from theme panel http://screencast.com/t/xoae1qYIJEji and style them as you like, you can inspect and follow the style from the sharing buttons: http://screencast.com/t/jrAQvEP5o
You can also try to find and use a plugin to achieve this.

Hope this helps!
Thanks

hi,
when you add tags to a post : http://screencast.com/t/1SAlvFyG

they appear above the sharing buttons: http://screencast.com/t/NvvlXSAu

this tags you can hide with ‘SHOW TAGS ON POST’ option : http://screencast.com/t/NvvlXSAu

this works fine, i’ve tried it.

Thanks for you message.

hi,
you get this because other sites on that server you are hosted on, also make connections to facebook.

the problem is that you can share on facebook only using facebook API. If they don’t change the API’s then your stuck.

one solution can be to move your account to another server, or provider (don’t choose the cheapest ones, as they are also used by spammers ).

Thanks for you message.

Hi,

We are getting a 429 Too Many Requests error when we try to share any of our news stories on Facebook.

http://www.wgel.com

After researching this, it sounds like it’s a server configuration problem with too many connections on the server and that returns the error. We are hosted at Godaddy, they confirmed this as well however they will not make any changes to get this to work.

So my question is, how can we get in and possibly change the Facebook share code to work in another way that doesn’t cause more sessions with the server?

If anyone has any help with a solution, we would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Dan

The code is no longer structured like this on td_module_blog http://screencast.com/t/NKc2JXoDKB to insert the custom code you provided for me above. Where do I go to insert the one you provided?

the custom css worked, thanks a lot!
since you’re here, could I also ask one other question?

I have a custom php code for social sharing buttons that I want to replace with what the theme has?

Where do I paste them so that it appears exactly where the current share buttons are (right below the tags, inside the box)?

@Lucian, the sharing code was adjusted in the -blog file. Any updated code for this?

Hi,

Please add the following css inside the Theme Panel -> Custom CSS:

.td-g-rec-id-content_bottom {
clear: both;
}

Thank you, Emil G.

Hi,

Maybe the best way to do this is to try and find a plugin that dose just that.

Other solution would be to duplicate the function that creates the social sharing buttons http://screencast.com/t/7Z32UhNHD5tj and modify it to do just what you want.

So you can go to the td_module_blog.php file, duplicate the function and change it’s name, change the buttons functionality like you wanted from here: http://screencast.com/t/VfNug3sq

Then, in order to show the buttons on each post template add them to the post page by calling your new function after the featured image like this: http://screencast.com/t/k45JQ1tJBX

This is an example I made for the post style 2: http://screencast.com/t/8d2CeidHx3

Thanks

Hello Lucian,

Thank you for your help, as always it is highly appreciated. Unfortunately I think I did not explain exactly what we want to achieve. The sharing buttons on the bottom of the article we would like to keep them exactly as they are. What we need is to add on the top of the article 4 normal link/buttons to our social media accounts. (ex.facebook.com/wearabletechnologies).
Also, is there anyway that this changes will work for all the posts styles? (We used the default one until v4.0, and now we are using style 3? Please see below 2 screenshots to help you help us 🙂

Kind regards,

I’m trying to make one of the menu items on the main menu stand out from the rest. I want to make it have a red background, but not sure of the CSS to make it work.

This is what it looks like now…

This is what I want it to look like…
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwLFxEIDQNO7T2d3czRQWUh5Z28/edit?usp=sharing

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks
