My website currently has a post sidebar with multiple elements (an ad, related posts, etc). To my knowledge, the only way to make the sidebar sticky using the Newspaper theme is to transform it into a smart sidebar, and this make all of the elements in the sidebar sticky. I am looking for only the last element in the sidebar to be sticky (and for all elements above it to be static).
I have had success using a sticky sidebar plugin such as Q2W3 Fixed Widgets for WordPress using other themes. However, this plugin did not work using the Newspaper theme.
Any thoughts on how I can achieve this? Thank you for your time.
I have recently updated from version 4 to version 10. The sidebar (which I believe is now the “smart sidebar” ) is not working properly. When I scroll down through my site’s page, the sidebar jumps up and into the main header section, overlapping other content. I have turned off the sidebar sticky function in the theme panel/template setting/smart sidebar; nothing changes. Please advise.

1. Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv Composer, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
If the problem persist, please set this code in functions.php -> wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/functions.php

I still enjoy your theme, as I think they are fantastic. I have recently upgraded from version 8.5 to X and I am using the Cloud templates, but I found a bug in the editor and would like to change some things:

Bug 2: With the infinite scroll (Auto loading) the sidebar does not move along the post, it stays fixed and is loaded again at the next post. Can’t it be moved at least along the post?

Change 2: I had 25 different custom ads created in the publisher. When I updated to Newspaper X they were deleted from the selection menu. I put them back following your tutorial in the Td-Composer plugin, but when you updated it this week they were deleted again. Is there no way to put more ads without deleting the code each time the plugin is updated?

For your reference – I have temporarily disabled 728*90 and used Auto ad size on Desktop now. AT present you can see the auto ad size only on my website. The screenshot here i have shared https://prnt.sc/updhql is the proof of the tested ad size 728*90 on my website on theme panel settings. [ SO please don’t confuse with current ad display under the pagination of smart list 6 on my website now]
SO please suggest a solution that how can I fit this ad perfectly within the content-box on my website.

In order to fix the problem with the smart list next/prev buttons, please add the code from here https://pastebin.com/LK1PLxQA in wp-content/themes/Newsmag/functions.php at the end of file, like this -> https://i.imgur.com/ZEiPoRF.png after that clear all cache and the smart list pagination will work.
As for google ads, please provide me a link to some posts/pages where the advertisements are not displaying.
1. So if I understand correctly, you’ll like to set some ads in category page, unfortunately using Newsmag this you have the option to set the ads only in sidebar another solution is to use a custom code

Also there is no option to can display ads inside the “More Article Box”, sorry, this can be done only with custom work.

In case there is no setting for what you would like to change, let me know what that is exactly.
1. All the theme modules can display the category tag. Please check in the theme panel and enable them https://prnt.sc/ucs7zk
2. Bring it where exactly? That is the block pagination, each block can display a few pagination styles https://prnt.sc/ucs8s4 The pagination is available for block widgets in sidebars as well https://prnt.sc/ucs9my -> https://prnt.sc/ucs9jm
3. That is not possible unfortunately. The theme doesn’t have an ad spot for the post loop that is displayed in the category page. Besides the header/footer/sidebar ads there would be no other ad spot created specially for the category pages.
4. The email address in the footer https://prnt.sc/ucsbjt will use the theme accent color set in the theme panel https://prnt.sc/ucsbtp -> https://prnt.sc/ucsbzh
I see that is not happening in your case. Note that this other setting will override the accent color https://prnt.sc/ucsd1f Set it to default of you want the theme accent color to be used.
5. You could try this plugin for example https://wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ There are many others as well.
6. What warnings have you received exactly? From what I know the super cache should work fine with the theme, it is the plugin we recommend. You could however use other caching plugins, make tests with them.
7. The theme has the more articles box https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-more-articles-box/ There are a few settings for it in the theme panel.
The more articles box does not slide posts, and does not have a read more button. There is a choice of modules but that functionality is not available.
I can’t say from the screenshot if that is indeed the more articles box, with modifications made to it, or a section implemented through a plugin.

Hi kibiribi, sorry there is no option to set an add as fix in the same position, indeed you can make a smart sidebar or a sticky column and set there the ads, but this is just a part for what you need.
Maybe you can find a plugin that can achieve what you need!

Dear Vlad, the sticky header has to be deactivated in the Javascript File for the mobile ans Desktop Version. So wäre I can find the smart sidebar in the code?

I have deactivated the smart sidebar in the themepanel and the measuring tool shows no CLS issue anymore, but although the score doesn’t get any better. Is there a way to deactivate the smart sidebar in the code like the deactivation of the sticky header?

Thanks for the information with the smart sidebar. This one was activated in the themepanel. Now I have deactivated it and it seems that there is no CLS in the measuring tool anymore. I will monitor the score in the next few days and hope that this was the last issue with the new Web Core Vitals from Google 🙂

How can I edit the default smart lists? I can see the Default Post Page file listed in Cloud Library, but I can’t find where to edit the Smart Lists that show as an option when creating a Smart List Post.
Bellow is a image describing what I mean. All I need is to load that smart list in Composer so that I can add my sidebars.

Our website: WDWThemeParks.com is using the Newspaper theme with a bit of customization. We have developed a tagging system where a post that’s tagged to a particular page will show up in that page’s news feed.
For example, our page for the Disney attraction: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is located here:

On the sidebar it shows the most recent posts tagged to this page and you can click through to “Read More” where it will bring up the full feed of posts tagged to this page:

The problem occurs when I want to view the second page of posts. If you hit the right arrow at the bottom of the feed it will bring up new posts, but those new posts are for the entire website and are not unique to the tagged page’s URL.
Any insight you can provide would be appreciated.

2. Usually this is an option from some plugins, usually optimization plugins that comperes the featured image to a low resolution to can be load faster. You can make a test, disable all non theme plugins, clear all cache and check the results.
