What did you change before the images disappeared? do you have updates set to automatic? This is usually an issue. Please try to disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Visual composer works as expected on our end with the new or with the old version. THe WP update has nothing to do with the issue itself. It could be a plugin that is not compatible with the new version of wp so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. What’s the clearest, simplest guide to update Newspaper?
(or better yet, what do I need to do to update?)
I have Newspaper v7.4 (at least according to my Welcome page in WordPress.
Though when I look at my downloads page it says Newspaper 8.
Meanwhile, I got two different emails:
1. [CodeCanyon] Update available for ‘Visual Composer: Page Builder for WordPress’
2. [ThemeForest] Update available for ‘Newspaper’
Normally, I would just click stuff and try to follow, but last time I did, it messed up my site for a while — apparently there was some dependency on the Visual Composer — yet there was some agreement between Newspaper and Visual Composer licenses, and upgrading one outside the other caused problems (and was confusing.)
This first mail looks like it tells me to update Visual Composer to v5.4:
” Hi jdmeier,
We’d like to let you know that an update to your item Visual Composer: Page Builder for WordPress by wpbakery is now available in your Downloads page.”
The second mail looks like it tells me to update Newspaper to v8:
” Hi jdmeier,
We’d like to let you know that an update to your item Newspaper by tagDiv is now available in your Downloads page.
Remember: you need to be logged in to download the update.”
How do I do this hassle free, and how do I avoid breaking stuff between Visual Composer and Newspaper?
I care a lot because I’ve run Newspaper on multiple sites for what surprisingly might be a couple years now already.

Weird issue after the theme update. The main header menu (navigation menu) only displays if you are signed into the site. This is on both desktop and mobile. Can you please assist with this?
I’m considering using the tag Div Speedbooster plugin, but it looks very complicated to install. If I do use it, will it potentially cause problems when WordPress does automatic updates?

Update: Problem solved after the updates and clearing the cache.
After updating WordPress to the latest version this issue appeared. All image captions across my site have lost their ability to wrap to the width of the image. This has caused a knock on text layout issue as the caption text pushes the alignment of the text columns into an unnatural position.
Will this be fixed in the next Newspaper update? I did update the theme and all plugin files to latest versions.

I’ve just added the instagram widget to my sidebar and by default it showed only one image.
I’ve added a bunch of pictures to my instagram and then updated my widget settings to reflect more images, but no matter how many rows/pictures per row that I select, it still continues to only show one image. I’ve also deleted my cache a few times since.
Is this an ongoing issue with anyone else or is there a fix to this?

If you’re up to date with Google’ SEO announcement. You might have read about their new mobile first index. As per them, Mobile version will be indexed rather then the Desktop version for ranking.
My question here is, as Tagdiv’s Newspaper theme has a separate Mobile UI. Will it affect the rankings? Are the Desktop & Mobile Markup same in both theme & Tagdiv Mobile theme plugin?
Should we disable it for SEO benefits?

Many people report errors after the new Newspaper 8.2 update.
The TagDiv team said on the forum that they are aware on the issue(s). They have said they will come with an update real soon. In the meantime, just wait with updating your theme. They probably drop the update on monday.
