If I reduce the number of menu items to 3 it looks like this:

If I reduce the menu item to 1 it reverts back its original size:

I’m pretty certain the menu can accommodate up to 7 items without distorting in size (as per your demo sites) so what do you think is causing the distortion on my site?
Update – this seems to only happen if I install a demo with content. If I choose the without content option then it works.
I do need the sample content though so any help still appreciated.

At first, social plugin dont work.
When I activated the plugin, I got an error : wp booster error:

and another big problem – mobile theme.Categories do not work, and the page… Need help.

Hey Guys, so i recently updated the newspaper theme to the new version 7.2. I updated all the website code to the new update.
I use the w3 total cache plugin to cache the website together with apc and php-fpm. I have been experiencing an error every-time i turn on the mobile theme plugin, the mobile theme displays on desktop devices across all browsers , instead of only moblie.
what could be possibly doing wrong?

I have only one day of support left with your theme on themeforest, but I have never had the need to contact you before now.
My website got hacked and my domains hijacked which caused me to have to update my server, website etc. I’m not sure exactly why this happened.
Anyway, after upgrading to your latest theme version for newspaper 7. I receivde the following social counter error as shown in the attached. It appears all white. Are you able to tell me why it is doing this?

My visual composer is also not working after update.
After the latest update, my social counter looks wacky in my footer. Please see http://slashedbeauty.com/ at the very bottom. I preferred it before when it had the colored stripes with each social platform. Now it looks messy and within the widget there’s no style selector. Is this just the default look now?
Hello! I would like to say that I am very satisfied with Newspaper, but when I updated the theme with the plugin and a token etc., my site showed several errors. I have Newspaper installed on 6 webpages, and lately I have noticed that the visual composer does not work. I hoped that an update would fix the problems, but now I am stryggelig with much more severe problemes. I am not very skilled in wordpress themes, but Newspaper have served me well so far. The page I tried to update is: http://www.psykolog.com. My main page is http://www.webpsykologen.no, and here I do not have access to visual composer. I need this tool, but I am afraid to update the other site in case of similar problemes. Could you take a look at http://www.psykolog.com and help me fix the bugs?

Lovin the theme more and more as improvements are made. the last 7.2 update made some nice improvements!
When you view the big grid on desktop looks great, when you view the big grid on a mobile device the featured images on the smaller boxes do not display full width and the grid incorporates a horizontal scroll bar so you can swipe to the other featured posts in the grid. I understand why it might have been designed this way but personally not liking the way it transforms when in mobile.
Is there a way to get the Big Grid, when viewed in mobile, to display those featured articles individually/sequentially one after the other with full width image/text/date/etc?
example: the 4 image grid has 1 large, 1 med and 2 small featured images/articles. Is there any way to get all 4 featured images/articles to display the way the first/largest featured image appears when viewing in mobile?

How do we update visual composer separately
i downloaded the newapaper.zip and uploaded throught ftp
just downloaded the js_composer from the plugins folder and the js_composer.php says version 4.12

It shows the shortcodes but no visual layout – when you toggle between classic mode/backend editor
Also noticed the the social plugin – we only use twitter – has no background colour – .td_social_twitter seems to be missing

Unfortunately if you customize the theme it will be harder and harder to keep your customization if you require updates and this will always be the case. There is no way of changing the theme code and make it update proof. We have to keep up with current technologies and have to update our theme as much as we can to keep up in an ever changing environment. Our advice is to try using as little customization as possible and try to use the options provided by the theme so you can update your product without having to pay a programmer to adjust the code every time you update. Unfortunately there is no answer for all the ‘WHY’ questions. They were decisions made by the development team that had to be taken. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these decisions.
As for the new page builder, it is still in development and we cannot say for sure when and if it will replace visual composer. They will both work in parallel for some time as they are compatible with one another.
Our future plans are to update the theme as much as possible and keep up with current tech. We plan on implementing our own page builder but at the moment there is no plan to ‘ditch’ visual composer.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.2, Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1) if you want to achieve best results in theme. Please notice that all of these updates has to be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Unfortunately there is no update proof way of altering the theme files. Sorry, Customization is as the name describes. Custom. An update replaces certain files to add the new code. The file needs to be replaced for the old theme to get the new code so your code will have to be re-added to the new file if it gets replaced. Unfortunately we cannot add the code in our theme. Our development team decides what gets implemented and what doesn’t and they have strict rules about everything that gets added in. Sorry.

Well, yes you cannot have access to extras premium content without a payed license. The free version has it’s limitations. There is a big difference between ‘the full features of the plugin’ which means you can use the plugin and have access to all it;s settings and capabilities, and the extra content and updates provided by the plugin author. You cannot install add-on, templates, updates basically everything that requires a registration code. If you want to have access to those features you will have to buy the plugin.

after nearly one year, the time has come, where I have to decide if I update from Newspaper 5 to Newspaper 7 or just get out of this whole thing.
Just a few points about the past:
– I just had my site three months running with a lot of work from my programmer, when the big update came to version 7. As it would have been again lots of programming work, we decided not to update.
– You, the programmers of this theme, promised me and others, that there will be security updates and we could use version 5 further on. There was no security update, no help when Visual Composer had to be updated because of security problems and now the final point is reached with the need to update to WordPress 4.5.
When we looked into the version 7 on a test server, we found out that many things have changed. Also some small things, that will cost a lot of time to fix. So why did you change the numbering of existing blocks and modules? Now everything is shown in a wrong way, even if the blocks and modules still exist to select (but with another number). Why did you change the font and deleted the old font? Lots of things we don’t understand. And on top of it all, we still don’t understand, why such a big update was needed, as WordPress didn’t change much. Could you please tell us?
So as you are building up your own pagebuilder, the next big problem seems to be around the corner. When will it be implemented instead of Visual Composer? Maybe you can understand that I can’t afford to pay for the work of my programmer every year to get right what you changed. And I also can’t spend time every year to implement the changes on existing pages and archives.
So you would help me a lot, if you could say something definite on your further plans!
