I am using the Newspaper theme from Envato Market (Theme Forest) for my wordpress blog http://www.urbanmaxx.com.
Yesterday I received an email stating that my site had automatically been updated to WordPress 4.41.
My site is setup as a magazine with articles on pages 1-4. When logging onto my site the static homepage displays the 7or 8 most recent articles and then has the option at the bottom of the page to access pages 2-4.
When I click on those pages, the site cycles as if it’s going to access the pages but remains on the static homepage. All the articles are visible in my dashboard under “Posts”. The only difference there is that the titles of the articles are now listed vertically instead of horizontally which makes them almost impossible to read.
Any suggestions or help is GREATLY appreciated.

As for the response – are you sure it wouldn’t be an update to td_video_support.php under the wp_booster folder? I see here the case scenarios for youtube, vimeo, and dailymotion. Could I add in a do_shortcode here and get the ID for the shortcode since that is a required parameter? (i.e. [videoadplayer id= “770”]) and thus all I will have to do is put 770 into the “featured video” box on creating the post.

Could you please let me know which files are modified/changed in your v 6.6.4 update? You changed_files_6.6.2_6.6.4.html file says “Here is a list of all the changes between v 6.6.2 and v 6.6.3”. There is no mention of v6.6.4 in the change log html and txt files.
A quick clarification is highly appreciated.

Normally this is in the changelog you get when downloading the files from Themeforest (admin please add this to docs in the FAQs ?)
Open the Newspaper_tf folder to see the two change files … e.g.,
[ Version 6.6.4 ]
– fix: homepage pagination issue with wordpress 4.4.1
[ Version 6.6.3 ]
– new: visual composer was updated to the latest version 4.9
– new: revolution slider was updated to the latest version 5.1.5
– fix: modified structured data to comply with Google’s new requirements

I updated to Newspaper v6.6.4 but this doesn’t seem to completely solve my pagination issue. I can click on page 3, 4 etc, but not page 2. Page 2 sends me back to the homepage.

All the issues are still occurring. I installed the latest newspaper update too.
Really not sure what to do. The GD library is already installed. Should i update the latest wordpress (4.4.1) or it’s not compatible with it yet? Will that fix it?

The top menu does not show up on mobile and the hader background color will not update.
UPDATE: I’ve managed to make the video player responsively fit the entire screen by injecting the code and CSS into the header of the page, as seen here: http://sparrowvideo.co/homepage-blog/
My issue is now that there is a blank white line appearing across the top of the screen, which I am assuming is the body of the blank page template I am using. If I could somehow get rid of that white bar now, all of my issues would be solved. Thanks so much for your help!

1.How can I find what is the latest Newspaper theme version installed in the server?
2.Can I just install the latest update or I do need to upgrade, for example, to 6.6.2, then 6.6.3 and then 6.6.4?
I stopped installing the latest versions as my site was not having any problems.

Hello,
Every time I install a new version of the theme, I have to re-add code to my header and before the closing body tag.
Is there a space somewhere in the theme to insert this code so that I don’t have to add it every time there is a theme update? I do not see a spot in the theme panel unless I am missing it.

The WordPress 4.4.1 security update introduced an incompatibility issue with a lot of themes that use custom pagination on homepage templates. We are very sorry for this inconvenience and we are working very hard to fix this ASAP with an update from themeforest.
UPDATE: Newspaper 6.6.4 is in the approval queue. You will get an email from themeforest when the update is out.
Until the final package is ready, you can use this fix for the pagination issue (paste it at the end of your functions.php file from the theme)

I’m using latest version of theme and visual composer.
Trying to update fonts and sizes for post title and excerpt, I see that it is not updated.
The CSS is an inherit of P, and it changes only if I change it throughout the theme.
I also used a custom css for excerpt and titles, and called in at custom css, still no luck.
What could be the reason for it?

We never tried that but I suppose that is possible with some custom modifications. This is a very complex task which require many customizations and also very good coding skills.
Unfortunately we cannot offer any type of custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. If you need this and you can’t do it yourself my advice is to hire a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you.

Appreciate the effort. But as soon as I update the post with the new external featured image, the screen goes white. Turned off all my other plugins to see if they interfere, and they don’t. Same result.
I can only come to the conclusion that the 8 month old plugin you suggested doesn’t work well with the latest WordPress and Newspaper version. Shame.

Hello,
You could use a child theme to edit the particular file but if the file will be changed you will still have to edit the code again, but it will save you some time until the file will be edited. You should save your modification in a separate file and if the module file will be changed in a future update you simply copy over the code.
