This is a known issue. Facebook recently updated their website and changed the code the social counter picked up. The problem is on our list and we will adjust our counter to the new facebook version as soon as possible.

After you change a thumb size, please make sure you regenerate your thumbnails otherwise the modification will not apply.
3) You can make your modification “update proof” by using a child theme https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/, but this is not entirely update proof because if the file you use in your child theme gets changed in a future version of the theme, you will have to adjust it to the new file. There is no modification that will be entirely update proof.
4) Unfortunately we cannot offer custom work, not even paid one at the moment. You can hire a freelancer to make the customization you need from sites like studio.envato.com.

1) Seo Yoast Plugin has been updated to version 3 and it change a lot the score. It doesnt recognise anymore images and H2 Subtitles when they are included inside shortcodes!!! My pages with good SEO score went 4-5 pages back on google search.

2) I want to change color on the plugin navigation buttons to be more visible when the mouse is NOT on them

Unfortunately I can’t provide a temporary fix for this issue as require some serious investigations because this is a built in Visual Composer element and we need to double-check where the problem is.

I would first say big thanks for your hard work making beatiful adaptive hybrid themes. I bought both your themes and planing buy more. Good work, keep going, do not stop improving and updating!
I have couple questions for your team:
1. It is possible to make (future updates proof) custom visual composer element similar to “Block 21”, but with other sizes of featured images? For example I need to make 62×62 featured images ( with corresponding image margins and paddings) for special windows software news category with windows software icons.
2. It is possible to make this modifications to other visual composer elementas like “Block 7” ?
3. How to make my modifications updates proof ?
4. Do you accept paid modification services for Newspaper theme ?
For example we want to integrate post ratings (like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/rating-widget/) to specific news category.

Just read you last post awtown about child theme being updated but it does not need to be. It is the theme that needs the update, not the child theme. Child theme is the same every theme update. Consists of functions.php and the css file.
If you are using the child theme then do the ftp overwriting the old theme with newer version way. You don’t have to delete the theme at all just unzip the new folder package and unzip theme folder and make sure you just upload the unzipped folder of the name with all the files of theme right over the older one on your server. It will just overwrite what is on your server.
Really, it is that easy. You don’t even have to deactivate the child theme this way either.
I can also agree that updates were easy enough for me to do too. No complications at all. Not saying you are wrong the one that says used WordPress for like 15 years but updating the theme is not that hard. I even used both methods with dashboard and ftp and they work just fine either way. I did not even update the plugins from v2.2 to v2.3 and v2.3.1. Nothing gave me issues. Last two times updating. I just uploaded the folder of new version, overwriting the older via ftp and it works just fine as before, and I am not even using the child theme.
All my modifications are in the custom code section of themepanel. That does just as good as using a child theme to me. This is one of the best and simplest updates with this theme as possible and I had no hiccups yet with it.
I should not say no plugins were updated. Visual Composer was updated every time they gave a new update to the plugin with theme update. I don’t use Revolution Slider because that is one hard to use plugin for just a slider. Way too many options on it. So the only plugin I updated was Visual Composer and I kept the Social Counter the same and still was fine with no errors.

1) Unfortunately the theme does not have an option for that and plugins usualy do not work with our blocks/modules as they are custom made. You will need custom modification of the core files to achieve your goal. Unfortunately i cannot provide a quick solution for it as the functionality of the big grid will have to be changed. You can hire a freelancer to do it for you if you really need this modification from sites like studio.envato.com
2)The big grid element was not meant to show excerpts. It can be done with custom modification.
3)You can update the theme with the envato toolkit: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If a major update will take place, some settings could not work anymore. But colors posts,pages and other panel settings are stored in the database and will not be affected by an update.
4)The text box from the theme panel (copyright) does not support html code by default. It gets removed by the theme so a link inserted here will not work without customization.

Then you can add your link in the text box as before and it should work.
5)Please make sure you only use normal text characters in the widget title. Other characters such as – or _ or other symbols or language specific characters will make your widgets disappear.

Debuger of FB doesnt help
one post is working fine but the next one is not
Older posts lost all the photos
i would like to add that all phots are always 200 by 200 pixels
recommended plugin

My comment was not directed at you. It’s a frustration with the update process.
The folks at tagdiv could code the best theme in world, but if it’s not easy to work with they’re sales will decline. I’d prefer they be successful.
In this guide, https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/, there’s no mention of updating the child theme.
In this thread, first you folks say the child theme needs to be updated. Then, only the code for the theme’s functions needs updated. Then, if we follow your guide for the Update Via WordPress section, the child theme is not mentioned, so it reads like no update is needed of the child theme.
The update process for my site failed. I asked a basic question and got different three answers. Can you clearly and easily answer this?
I’m pretty novice when it comes to anything remotely complicated on WordPress, but I managed to update to both Newsmag v2.3 and v2.3.1 easily enough.
Yoast SEO was giving me some grief, but that seemed to sort itself out once I updated the theme to v2.3.1.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, however the 2.3 update process is not different and it can be done easily using any method from the ones we have provided in theme’s update guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ and doing this as instructed shouldn’t cause any issues. We have tested the theme rigorously before releasing it and found no issues. Of course using the child theme may involve other actions that needed to be attended besides those mentioned in theme’s update guide as I’ve details in my previous reply.

The links older than an year old do not work anymore because screencast gets filled up in this period and removes the old links. On the other hand modification made an year back will not apply to the current version of the theme as code was changed on the many updates the theme had since then.

5. When I’ve created my own sidebar and add an widget, it appears on the site correctly, but when I want to edit the content, there is no such possibility, the content disappear in the cockpit, it’s empty (but visible on the site). When I want to edit it, I have to add new item.

I’ve also replied you via email on this and checked your site there and didn’t see the problem you initially reported and I wasn’t aware of your posts here so it my reply was a bit off of this topic.
At this point I’m not aware why this occurred however concerning theme altering the .htaccess file I can tell you that it doesn’t so this may happened due to a plugin you use. I see you lots of plugins and among them you have the Easy Updates Manager one which I believe it’s responsible for auto updates. We haven’t tested this plugin with the theme so I’m not aware if its functionality and it may be possible not to work well with the theme and generate issues. In this scope we have tested and provided the solution to use the Envato Toolkit plugin to manage theme’s auto updates, you can find a guide on this here: http://screencast.com/t/EZ0YVDIo – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ ( this is made for the newspaper theme but the update process works in the same manner for newsmag theme also).
The latest theme available is version 2.3.1 – http://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331
If you decide to update it, considering all customization you now have we advise you to do a full backup of your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and also consider the steps I’ve provide below:
– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

Thanks for reporting this. I’ve also test it on my side and indeed there is a problem with the tabs. I’ve added this on our list and we will try to fix it in the next theme updates. On our demo for Newsmag theme we use an older version VC so it may be a problem related with the latest plugin’s versions.
