I have a question regarding the image sizes. I would like my featured images to take all the space allocated for featured images on the homepage. With the update to theme 6.0, all my images seem to be now too small (the width) and it just doesn’t look very nice / not slick.
I’m using Big Grid Slide and Block 2 and Block 4 on the homepage.

The images used in the tagdiv gallery are not stretched or cropped like the featured images on modules. It uses the full image, just resized (but not enlarged) to fit into container.
The gallery was not built to modify the aspect ratio of the images nor to create thumbnails for it. In order to do so you will require custom work. Unfortunately we cannot provide it as we work hard on updates, fixes and support, but you can hire a freelancer to do it for you from sites like studio.envato.com.

Theme’s responsiveness was tested on various devices and works fine on mobiles and tablets. Also I’ve checked your site and noticed that the html structure is a bit different than the original one from the theme. If you made any customizations in theme’s files please make sure that they don’t affect its responsiveness. Also you can try to update at the latest version V 2.3, which also was tested and works fine on mobile devices.

I just updated Newsmag to the latest version 2.3 and also updated Visual Composer to 4.8.1.
I expected that Tabs, Toggle, Accordion etcetera would still be available as a (usable) element.
It says Elements within this list are deprecated and are no longer supported in newer versions of Visual Composer. however I am on the latest version right?
If I look at the Visual Composer plugin page (the stand alone one) on their preview they do list them as an example:

So what I would like to know is: how can I create these elements and can I keep the ones that I created? Or should I change anything? Because when I use the latest version nothing should be deprecated there right? Strange…

This could be a plugin issue. Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and check the editor again. If this does not work, make sure you update your theme to the latest version and also update visual composer.
If all else fails, you can change the color using css. The editor text color can be found here: http://screencast.com/t/hrMsN2DU There is an editor-style.css also. You can manually change the color in the file.

All my text in the post editor is now white, when selected is still there for old postm, but is white text over white background. HEadlines working fine.
When disable visual editor for user, all works.
Tried all the recommenden solutoons from wordpres reinstallin wp-includes, updateing WP, cleaning cache in all browsers( by the way

Thanks for your response – but I have made no changes whatsoever to the code or any of the site. It was working on Friday, couldn’t get in on Monday.
Also I am unable to access wordpress admin – so not sure how I update wordpress? I also can;t afford to lose the content – there’s 1k+ unique articles on the site and SERP rankings to protect. Would a re-installation lose the articles and start again?

I went to install this plugin because I did not have it installed and after v2.3 update to get the weather to show on top bar, it need the api plugin installed as I think that is what is needed but as soon as I installed the plugin and right after clicking the activate link it gives a 500 server error and I had to go to FTP and remove the plugin manually. How do I install the plugin now? I have enabled weather. Do I need to disable it and then install the plugin? What gives. It never done this before the update to latest version 2.3 of the theme.
Update: Just tried disabling the weather on top bar and still got 500 server error after activating the plugin and still had to manually delete plugin in FTP. Guess I won’t be using that Weather on top bar.

At the moment you can sort your posts by tag as you said. You will have to wait a bit so the update can be published and the sorting option to be available. We do not have an exact date of release but it will be as soon as possible.

I am unfortunately very far behind on updates. I’ve been procrastinating upgrading because of customization’s that I have and also things have been busy (which is a weak excuse I know). I plan on upgrading tomorrow to the latest and greatest. I am currently on version 4.6.1 and will be going to 6.5.1.
I’m hoping this will be an easy upgrade, but wanted to post here first to see if there is anything that I need to be aware of first? I’m making a complete site backup before upgrading, so I’ll have access to my older files so hopefully I can get back any customization’s easily.
Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
I know custom post types aren’t supported, however I’m wondering if there is a quick code fix or if I’m missing something. The category tags appear fine, however they won’t change color when I set it in the theme panel. Even though it’s a CPT, it’s using the same category as posts, and they display but the box just remains black. They change correctly on regular posts.

After update of theme and VC to the latest versions the top and bottom padding of my footer ad have changed – the top padding has increased and the bottom padding has decreased. Site: http://www.sverigetips.se. Compare with the footer of http://www.swedentips.se – this site is not updated yet and shows correct padding of footer ad. Both sites use exactly the same plugins.
Why have the padding values changed, and how can I get back the former values (as on swedentips.se)?

I’ve changed the most commented sort as you’ve described but it didn’t make any change in sorting. There are still All-time Most commented post on top… I’m using Disqus comment system if that has any affect on sorting?
For Most viewed posts, I’ve put this code from 7 day random and change it to sort only post published 3 days ago… and put one custom code to td_page_views.php on line 72, after update_post_meta($postID, self::$post_view_7days_last_day, $current_day);} :

Otherwise it would be good if the theme would have it’s own post view counter working with cache, since it’s the only flaw, I see this, theme has.

You can achieve the effect you want by setting the modal image manual on specific images. It will be a bit hard to implement an option for it in the theme panel as it will require a lot of work from our side for an option that already exists when creating your posts. We will consider an option like this but i cannot promise that it will be a priority. I will add your suggestion to our update list.

We plan to release an update for Newsmag theme this days. Currently we test the latest version of Visual Composer V 4.8.1 and if it works fine will be included in theme’s package, otherwise will be included V 4.8 which is already tested and works fine.

The current version of revolution slider available with the theme is V 5.0.4.1 and the current version of the theme is V 2.2.1. You can update the plugin from Newsmag-tf\plugins\revolution_slider_5 folder.

Unfortunately we have not tested this plugin and cannot say for sure if it will work with our blocks. We have no idea of the plugin functionality so we cannot make a suggestion on how to use it best with our theme. Unfortunately we are a small team and time does not allow us to test plugins on a daily basis. However, we are currently working on this exact feature and in the next update (which will come out in the near future) we will implement sorting posts by ID.
