Update the Sprite files i Newspaper Theme folder via FTP. That worked for me… I had to take them over separately since they dont had been transferred when I did the whole update
I had this happen once. Check the wp admin > user – and then check the “username” to make sure there are not any bad characters, or a space in the name. Also, resave your permalinks.
I had one user account where a blank space after the username messed things up, as I think it was trying to put a %20 in there and that so did not work.
e.g., /site/author/bunny%20/ …
Might not help but check those two things first
1) username/nickname, which is used for the author URL (e.g., “bunny” would be /site/author/bunny )
2) resave permalinks — for some reason this sometimes fixes things after WP update or any major change.
Update via FTP is best way to go, as with ALL wordpress themes. Or from a filemanager in your hosting panel.

I’ll be doing this also. I “think” that the main changes may end up being to the advertising elements, and some additional module options for home page. I haven’t yet updated my site as I’m waiting for 3.2 to do the upgrade.
I suppose Radu may have a doc someplace on “upgrading from v2 to v3 – changes” … ? I will go look. OH … well, here’s why I love these guys:

That does appear to be less painful than I was “imagining” for the upgrade/update. So, once 3.2 is live, I’ll be updating mine. Looks pretty straightforward.
I think for most of the usability (UX) design elements happening right now, this theme is properly designed. “on site” search is used only a tiny fraction for most folks who surf in from social media or other link. Visitors to home page would explore on page elements before search. In our case we happen to prefer the search only be visible when tapped as this has become very much the norm (e.g., YouTube, Google, et al), as it puts a box where no box is needed unless asked for. And, a LOT of people forget if they are desperate to have a big visible search box, simply put it in the sidebar using the built-in wordpress widget. For the navbar, I prefer how it’s done now, as “search” isn’t technically part of “navigation” but a separate function, so from a UX standpoint, Radu got it right the first time.
That takes nothing away from those who need it, however, I — and many others here — would prefer the CORE features get updated and solified further before additional “alt” functions are added, as this takes time away from the evolution of the product as originally created — meaning, the demo shows how search works, so asking to change it now isn’t necessarily a bad thing for your purposes, but not how the theme was developed based around “current think” on UX dev.

Still not working in incognito or with a cleared cache. Basically its showing half of a home looking icon and something else but both hard to make out. Please take a look at (android-advice(dot)com) to see what I mean.

I have not yet updated to the recent version as I am waiting for all major issues to be resolved first. I do not have the wp-boost folder that you refereed to in your screenshot.
As it stands, I have a block 4 titled Legalization displaying the recent articles in the category legalization. When I hover over the block title and click, it links to the category page legalization.. I am trying to disable that link to category page. I don’t want the block 4 title to link to anything, I just want the title show without a link.

When you click on the block title, it takes you to a different page. How do you disable that?

I bought the tagDIv ‘newspaper’ theme at themeforest a few weeks ago.
A few days after i saw that there was a update of the theme (V3?). it’s faster, has new features, etc. I thought it would be updateable in wordpress just like any other add-on/plug-in.
How can i implement this update? because if i would’ve known i would have waited with the purchase.
I don’t really have any FTP knowledge, so if there’s an option to update it at wordpress it would be prefered.
Also al the support video’s are shown on the new lay-out or anyway not in the version of the theme i have. It’s simular, but not the same.

I was playing around with infinite scroll and wondering is it possible to use infinite scroll with a show more button? Like instead of automatically loading articles when reach the bottom, user clicks the show more button and then the article list loads more.

In my last version (2.*) i modified the inludes/app/modules/td_module_3(4-5).php in order to show the name of the author. In the new version i can’t localize the position of theese files. Could you please me tell me where they are now?

thanks for the honest reply. I that case I will convert my taxonomies back to categories. I prefer using the inbuild functions as they will be compatible with any future update and improvement.

Think I solved it at last. Removed Autoslide in Big Slider and everything works perfect and updates instantly on all devices
NOT solved. Anyone have a clue? It seems that it takes hours before the posting update reaches the mobile phones 🙁

1. you can translate that via the theme panel -> translation
2. I tried several times to integrate custom taxonomies with our blocks but as it turns out it’a very hard to make such a system work with all the combinations. Unfortunately we don’t have current plans to update the blocks to support custom taxonomies 😐
I think that the theme can be easily modified by a good wordpress developer to take full advantage of wordpress taxonomies.

Just check the “send me updates” option in your list of purchased items on Theme Forest. Every time the new version is uploaded and approved by the system, you get an email saying “Newspaper has been updated” and with link to your account, download, and the theme page. Works 🙂
