There will be overall improvements made in the theme in coming updates. It is true that the CSS has become somewhat large in size, there will be steps taken in this matter to reduce it. This should have a positive influence in the above issue as well. I can’t say much about it at the moment or exactly when it will be implemented.
Usually and from what I know from previous cases, most 500 errors are caused by low WP-memory, increasing it to a value of 256M or higher if possible solved the problem. This value would be enough for most websites. Of course these errors could be caused by other factors.
Any update on this item? All my tag pages are pulling the incorrect thumbnail when shared to facebook

Please, could you tell me whether or not you plan to implement a ‘real lazy load’ rather than the fake animation version? As it stands I am unable to use wp-rocket lazy load because I think the theme images are for some reason classed as BG images or not using the standard WordPress functions. Its the same story for lazy load in the SG-Optimizer plugin from Siteground.
So My questions are:
1. Is this going to be fixed in a future update?
2. Is there a workaround for me to get wp-rocket lazy load working with this theme for now?

I’ve just updated my site from version 7 to version 9. I did the updates and rebuilt the home page with TD Composer on a staging site while my earlier version was live.
Once I completed, I replaced the 7.0 site with the new one. The site works, but the theme still says it is not activated. I placed the envato purchase code in the right place, but the next step it requires from me is to create a new TagDiv support account. I already have this one, and do not want to duplicate this.
However, I can’t complete the activation until I do. Any advice?

Well the problem is that YOUR theme is using the wrong Scema types for my sites, and I can’t turn them off and I can’t update them? I have another plugin installed already with the correct types, but I need to either configure NewsPaper or at the very least turn of the structured data you provide which is wrong.
I host a lot of sites on our Plesk server and use Plesk’s WordPress utility to update plugins and themes on all sites automatically. However, regardles of what plugins Plesk is updating, I notice that any currently enabled Newspaper plugins become deactivated requiring me to login to all the sites that use the theme and manually reenable the plugins. This isinconvenient to say the least as I’m not an admin on all the sites in question so technically I should not be logging into a customer site without express permission.
Please investigate.

We know about this mini bug which will be fixed in near future updates. Also, please notice that issue appears only a plugin has been installed for your WordPress to exclude the Gutenberg layout, like Classic Editor. If you will remove it, this option will appear. Do you are using the Classic Editor plugin?

You can try to delete it manually from your server or you can try to use a wordpress function – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/delete_option
The theme settings are not removed from database when you delete the theme for few reasons and the main reason is:
– if you update the theme via wordpress you will switch to a different theme and then delete Newspaper theme in order to install the new version –

This is possible only if you make changes in theme files, but be notice that the notice is not made in child theme, or you can not made theme in child theme, you need to made that changes after each theme update.

Likewise Image Caption in Theme Fonts / Post Elements / Image Caption – altering font here has no effect on the image caption in block editor. Also, unfortunately, the image caption in block editor is centred, cannot be moved left.
I am guessing Newspaper 9 is not quite up to date with block editor in various ways and some of these problems lie with block editor, not Newspaper.
But are there plans for update here? Do you recommend using Classic Editor for all posts? I could do this but fear my posts might be broken later if WordPress only supports block editor (which I don’t much like as a system). Thanks.

I just purchased a second license and updated to Newspaper 9. As soon as I did this the Tag Composer shows a white bar with some text blocking have the screen. When I minimize the sidebar I see this text:

The only thing I did was built the site with the Newspaper 8.7 and upgraded to Newspaper 9 and now showing these errors.

That modification will replace the publish date with the last updated date. If you wish to have both don’t replace the code, add the publish date code below the default code. Just as Bogdan mentioned in another topic.

You can try couple of things, first activate the mobile theme of Newspaper, that will bring the speed upto/over 45 (mobile).
Next you need to check the render blocking scripts.
I used this tutorial to bring those down. (you need to understand coding for a little while)

Also I am using lot of plugins to get the work done, You can also check some for yourself.
JCH Optimize is a good one to bring the speed index up. But remember if with plugins, the website might not work properly. So, keep experimenting.
I use WP Super chache, since any other cache plugin does not make the new stories appear, and you would end up cleaning the cache every time you post a new story/article. It is not the best Cache plugin, but seems to be the only one working with Newspaper.
We also use WP Smush Pro to keep the images size low.
Some of the plugins might reduce the desktop site index, as it puts more load on server, so make sure you have good RAM and CPU on the server.
Newspaper requires good amount of resources to be quick, no matter what anyone says you need good amount of RAM and CPU for your site to be fast if you are using this theme :).
However, Newspaper is much better than other themes we have seen, as they keep it updated and their support is excellent. Only thing missing here is infinite article load and infinite smart list load. Probably we will see it in the next update. That will make bounce rate lower and also time spend on site higher.

I’ve already read these documents countless times. There is no option under media for me to add a gallery. Those settings that you say exist…do not exist in my panel. I’ve updated themes, disabled plugins, etc. where is this gallery at if it comes bundled?
