Hi,
So practically you want to show only the category from the selected language, usually this option comes from the translating plugin, this is not an theme option.
From what I know the WPML plugin can achieve what you need, maybe there are other plugins too that can achieve this.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
Is look that one is set on post and one on cloud template, if you want you can use a custom css like this one -> http://prntscr.com/pncxy8 to remove the translation set on templates.
.page p:first-of-type.wpml-ls-statics-post_translations,
.single .wpml-ls-statics-post_translations
{
display: none;
}
.single .tdb-block-inner .wpml-ls-statics-post_translations
{
display: block;
}
Thank you!
Hello, guys, please help me.
So, i got the WPML plugin. When i put on “Link to translate on posts”, the translator link appears twice. How to remove the first one: http://prntscr.com/pmsfu2
Hi,
So you would like to place a link in the top bar directing to a chosen URL, you could add a custom link menu in the top bar menu – https://prnt.sc/pfyzf7
This would be easier than modifying the theme login files.
To translate the default sign in/join this has to be done in WPML, the theme translation will not work when WPML is active. In the string translation panel it can be done
– https://prnt.sc/pfz3fn -> https://prnt.sc/pfz416
Regarding the cloud template import issue, please check if the cloud templates are set as translatable in the WPML settings, they should be set as not translatable
– https://prnt.sc/pfz0u9
Currently there is an issue, when the setting is not as shown.
If you have more questions let us know.
Thanks
Hi
After testing it is the approved WPML plugin ( https://tagdiv.com/wpml-newspaper-theme-compatibility/ )
Methodology:
I tested with all plugin deactivated (a part from TagDiv ones) and then activated
WPML Media Translation 2.5.3 release notes
WPML 4.2.9 release notes
WPML String Translation 2.10.7 release notes
WPML Translation Management 2.8.8 release notes
It is definitively the WPML plusgins
So while I disabled WPML I did import the templates I was looking for, then reactive them as my site is 3 lingual
so how do we process from here ?
thanks
Hello,
Usually we recommend WPML plugin because this is a tested plugin, but there are many other plugins that can be compatible with our theme.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please notice that the WPML plugins is just a tested/supported plugin, this is not include in our theme package, you can check here what’s include in the Newspaper theme package -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
Also you can check our documentation for WPML translate from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/
Thank you!
Hello,
I bought the theme and Im testing it locally not online so i didn’t activate the newspaper will activate it when i choose a host.
I’m trying to practice and add wpml but i can’t manage to know how to get the plugins,the https://wpml.org/ website i have to buy them, i thought they are already included in the theme because that what i wanted and not a yearly subscription.
Can you help me with this it’s my first time.
Hi,
Should work fine using one header template, WPML adds the language parameter to the permalink when the language is changed.
But it may be easier to create 2 header templates, so you can use for example different logos if needed, and different menus etc directly in the template. You can for example duplicate the template and customize it for each language – https://prnt.sc/p86qss
Thanks
So I’m creating a new header in cloud template from scratch(blank header). We are using WPML for multilanguage.
My question is, do I have to create 2 headers for each main page to display? Because, we are placing URL for the header logo but have 2 main pages obviously which ends with .com and the other is .com/en/
Oi,
Eu entendo.
O problema é que o WPML é um plugin pago, e para que a empresa me libere a verba necessária, eu teria que dar certeza que o plugin resolveria todas os meus problemas.
Mas vou tentar resolver usando a documentação que você me mandou.
Caso eu nĂŁo consiga resolver, tem alguma maneira de desativar o click do Logo.
Entrei em parts/header/logo.php
Substitui: “>
Mas ele continua redirecionando.
Pode me ajudar?
Obrigado.
Hello,
Unfortunately we didn’t tested this plugin with our theme, by I think that you can translate with it the logo using this documentation -> https://polylang.pro/doc/strings-translations/ -> https://polylang.pro/doc/strings-translation/ you’ll need to add a string translation for log, you’ll need to use this documentation -> http://prntscr.com/p5kpyp unfortunately this is all I can do to help you with this untested plugin.
Usually we recommend ti use WPML plugin, this one is tested with our theme and is working just fine.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi, me again!
So we have set through composer to show the latest posts on our index blocks, outlined on the picture below:

Our question is, how can we reflect these changes to our other languages, since it doesn’t work on other localizations(WPML) and how can we offset the latest posts on our second module, since, as you can see, they are duplicated.
Edit no1.: Now we find the offset post, but the changes are not reflected to other languages. Any clue about that?
Regards
Hi Vlad,
I don’t think you read my request fully. I have about 5 countries to translate these widgets for (MUST READ, MOST POPULAR, RECENT COMMENTS). See here: https://blog.tryandreview.com/vi/2019/08/16/len-ke-hoach-di-choi-he-voi-5-bi-quyet-nay/
How can I translate “MUST READ”, “MOST POPULAR” and “RECENT COMMENTS” for each country separately in WPML?
No caching plugins are enabled, we use WPML which is compatible with your tagDiv Composser.
Listen closely. Any header elements alignment change does not reflect in your editor. Sometimes we also get a message saying that this content was not created by tagDiv Composser, even though it was imported from the cloud library.

Now please, tell me how to move this search icon to be floating right like it’s on this picture:

You can inspect the code with dev-tools and share the CSS i need to, please. With editor it doesnt work!!
hi Calin,
hopefully u can response faster next time,
ok i am already understand the concept, i will try your instruction, but meanwhile … i’ve done it with different approach to put text-with-title on top bar area row and put the WPML shortcode inside the text-with-title element (1st screenshot), and the result is (2nd screenshot)
but there is one problem, the row dissapeared in phone portview (3rd screenshot)
already set the css elemen, column, and row as display ‘show’ on the phone portview in the tagdiv composer, but i have no luck

Hi,
Please notice that our theme do not have any options for switcher widget on different languages, those options can came with the plugin that you are using for switcher widget, for example in WPML you can set a content/widgets for each language that you are using.
Also please notice that we tested only the WPML plugin for multi-lang with our website, therefor we can provide support for others plugins because we do not know if those are working properly on not with our theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
If you have a shortcode for language selector WPML then you can use a header template from tagDiv Cloud Library edit it using tagDiv Composer with header manager and set the shortcode in ca column text -> http://prntscr.com/oxioja -> http://prntscr.com/oxiquh -> http://prntscr.com/oxirvh
Thank you!
Hi,
Thank you very much for the answer, but the question are about location on the tagdiv theme, and how to achieve language selector next to search’s function header using WPML shortcode, thats why i write to this forum instead of WPML’s
best regard
Hi,
In order to set the Switcher Language you’ll need to make some changes in WPML settings, you can find more in this documentation -> https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/
Translating Menus -> https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/
Hope this will help!
Thank you!
Hi
I Wonder if i can add WPML Language Selector on header area :
- do u have some reference, location on header area and how to do it?
- my goal is replacing social icon on main menu on style 1 header with WPML shortcode, is that possible?
Hello Simion,
Thanks a lot, it works with pages and Cloud templates perfectly!
We plan to create Cloud templates for all default pages. Good that there is no need to translate them all with String WPML 🙂
Hi,
That is possible with cloud templates. While editing a cloud template for example a single template, you can use the header manager to select a different header.
So for example I have 2 languages for a post. I have 2 cloud post templates that I apply. One for the (in my case) English post and one for the French translated post
– https://prnt.sc/oujqga
– https://prnt.sc/oujqzk
Since these templates are made with the composer, they can have different headers.
So my English post can have one header, and the French can have a different one selected in the header manager while editing the cloud post templates
– https://prnt.sc/oujryj
If you don’t use cloud templates, maybe it could be done through the string translations of WPML, let me know.
Thanks
Hello!
I’ve managed to translate and apply footer and single post templates according to this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/problems-on-sidebar-and-footer-translation-with-wpml/. It works. Thank you very much for such detailed instructions!
But I didn’t find how the translated header had to be applied. I’ve created the header in Cloud Templates and translated it. But now I need to apply different headers to different languages. Could you please help me?
Thank you!
Hi,
Now this is quite an unusual issue. Looks like when I click on the drop-down arrow it refreshes the page, like a misclick on the current language menu item.
For me it works fine on mobile – https://prnt.sc/osimjj -> https://prnt.sc/osimgk
I found a similar topic about this issue here – https://wpml.org/forums/topic/opening-language-switcher-drop-down-causes-refresh-page/
You could try the javascript code mentioned there, in the theme or child theme functions file. Then check if the issue is solved.
Thanks
