I am reaching out with a question on image loading in the newspaper theme.
Currently I have issues with LCP – it seems that the images are loaded as background image, therefore the loading takes so long.
My page is Mundgefuehl
This is the message I am getting from page speed insights for the LCP issue:

I checked the options to set the preloading – this worked for the single post featured image (unfortunately, without improvement in speed).
However, I cannot find the same option for the images in big grid flex – the images are still showing the “background” information in the html code.
Do you have a suggestion how I could change that?

You can enable that option; it will help.
Also, big grid flex can not be changed. You can try using module builder -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/ to create a module as you want, which can help.
