What’s the ETA on a new version of the theme?

We cannot say for sure when the new update will come out. We will implement the new version of visual composer in the near future but unfortunately we have no release date yet. It is hard to say what the future will bring and it is still to early to make assumptions.

Please try to disable all other plugins and try to install just the visual composer that comes with your theme files. You can find the plugin in this window: http://screencast.com/t/mIMpFdmVDj not the WP plugins section.

I tried not to be a pest and work thru this thread to install Visual Composer, to no avail… 🙁

I Just purchased news paper theme. I have the existing site running in Videotheme “True mag” and when i tried changing the theme the video posts are not getting migrated to newspapers format. could you pls. help ?

@jermyn7, please access your files via FTP and delete the visual composer files manually as sometimes deleting them from the dashboard will not be enough and a folder will remain behind.

@amrinder, which problem are you referring to? the Visual composer one or the migration from another theme?
For both issues, there are answers posted above.
I assume you are referring to the visual composer plugin. Please try to remove your VC files/folder via ftp after deleting it from wp-admim as sometimes files remain behind and prevent the installation of the new version.

First of all we apologize it took so long for us to test this and you’ve waited to give you a solution for your situation, unfortunately due to the latest investigation we have made concerning the 4.7.4 secure version of VC and theme’s version 4 we have decided not to provide a fix for this, our decision is based on technical reasons which will make this a difficult task and because our purpose is to focus and continue our latest themes versions research, improvement and development and because we are a small team with limited resources we can’t attend this.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope you can and you will understand our decision!
To fix this an also avoid any similar issues and so that you can also benefit of the newspaper theme’s new features, its new design and off course fix this issue I would advise you to reconsider updating your theme to the most recent version of the theme and adjust your customization to the version 6 of the theme or redesign it. We will continue to improve the theme and its functionality as well its appearance so this would come in your benefit.

Ok, i got it. Of course i can do nothing about it, but anyway it think it’s not right that you just focus on new theme and there is no support for the previous one (even though it’s the same theme). It would be ok for me to update for Newspaper 6 if this update didn’t affect all of my customizacion that i’ve made during a year. I have advertisement on this site so i can’t just switch it off and spend 1-2 weeks to customize it.
I’ve bought an exact product, i’m very happy with it and with your support, thank you very much for it. And i really don’t want to change in it anything in the future, i don’t need a theme to customize it, i need a theme to develope my site on it. And how can i be sure that in one year you will not decide to make Newspaper 7 with new design again and i will have to customize it one more time?

I agree with @paulberrow I’m also on Newspaper 4. For the moment, it works for me with the security Update of VC and I only had to fix one or two small things. But the problem is, that this will not work forever and after this winter (where we have the most traffic) we will have to update to version 6 with lots of work for my programmer and costs for me.
So my question is: How can I be sure, that you don’t change to a completely new version 7 next summer and all the work we probably will have done in spring is for nothing?

If we release a new version of newspaper in the future there will not be as many problems on the update process as updating from 4 to 6. We will probably not change the whole code again. Updates are a certain thing. We always try to improve our theme, but it does not mean we will start from scratch every time we release a new version.

@dabiathlet, so you’re using a new safe version of VC with Newspaper 4?
@paulberrow, I talked to my programmer, he tested the update on a test version of our system and it worked. We had only minor problems (in some cases, the “limit” of posts in a template got lost, but could be added manually again).
It’s the version 4.7.4 of Visual Composer. This update was sent out by WPBakery, the programmers of Visual Composer, for free. Now it’s running without problems on our main system.
But you should definitly test it on a test version.

You will need to download the latest version of our theme from themeforest as wordpress 4.4 created a few issues.
Facebook changed a few things also and now you need to update your social counter to the latest version by removing the one you have installed and install the new one that comes with the theme. I recently installed the latest build from you all and a did a fresh new install of Welcome to Newspaper V 6.6.3.
In the Visual Composer, I do not see this area specified in the red rectangular box:
How can I get this to show up as shown in the YouTube video you suggested above?

Please ensure you that this problem is not caused by a conflicting plugin. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and in this case, you should rule out the conflicts between plugins. After this advice, if your problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your log-in information so we can take a look at your page setup.
