Hey everyone,

Photos have stopped rendering on our site- http://www.risenews.net

This problem just started a few hours ago and now we are unable to upload anything to the system as well.

We are also unable to access the visual composer.

How do we fix this?

Thanks

Hi,
It seems you updated wordpress to the latest version. This caused some issues with the Visual composer plugin so please update your theme and also make sure you update visual composer with the latest version that comes bundled with the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!

Hey Bogdan,

Thanks for the help.

We did what you said but we’ve seen no change.

Still can’t make any changes to the visual composer.

Any ideas?

Hi,
I have checked your site and the images seem to display fine. Maybe the cache was not reset yet.
Please let us know if you require any further assistance.
Thank you!

Hey Brogdan,

Thanks again for your help on this.

The issue now is not the Visual Composer, as we are able to make changes to the front page, etc.

That part is fixed.

But we are having a really hard time uploading photos to the site now when your theme is activated.

When we change to a different theme, the uploads work fine. But not when using the newspaper theme. I talked to GoDaddy on the phone for 45 minutes (they manage our wordpress) and they went through a bunch of different troubleshooting things but they said that it was the theme making the HTTP error when we do the photo uploads.

How do we fix this problem?

Thanks

Hi,
For the first problem (visual composer), please follow this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/visual-composer-dont-load-backend/
As for the http error, please make sure you meet the requirements for our theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please make sure you increase the system status parameters according to this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

1) Visual composer works fine.

2) We meet all of the requirements for the theme (we’ve been using it since August with no issues.)

3) What do you do to fix HTTP error specifically? We have no other issues than that.

Hi,
Please try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear the cache memory then test again. You can also switch to a default wp-theme then, try to upload an image and check if the error is still there.
Please double-check your parameters and make sure they are all that you have these set correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks

Hi,

I am having the same issue (hhtp error on image upload) with my site. I have read all the documentation and done all the tasks, nothing seems to work. I have checked with godaddy also, they are saying that this problem is because of the theme only.

I am totally frustrated as I wanted a simple theme without any coding. And now most of my time is going to figure out the problems in this theme.:(

Not theme related. Partially due to WordPress changes.

Try this:
a) if using Smush.it — stop; lots of issues since last month. This is a top issue for all WP 4.5 users.

b) in your php settings on server hosting control panel, change “max input time” AND “max execution time” to 120 seconds.
Many folks have it set to only 60 seconds by default. On our server after PLESK update the input time dropped to 60 seconds and we had WP 4.5.1 crashing left and right. If you already had max exec to 120, and max input to 60, changing max input to 120 solved all our crashes.

Might not be your issue — but try it and report back.
