My site – https://jazzjournal.co.uk/ – is barely loading. Loading and responsiveness of WP dashboard is also incredibly slow. The site has never been very fast, but this is now unusable.
I have a fairly standard installation, using standard post templates and for front page Flex Block 3 and one Big Grid Flex 2.
My host says the site is responding quickly, so no problem. Other sites are loading fast and normally, so my internet speed is good enough.
What is the problem with Newspaper?
The very slow loading of this morning seems to have been resolved. I got a message on trying to update a plugin that said no connection could be made to the database. Is/was this a Newspaper problem?
This aside, I am surprised, given the simplicity of my installation and the claims of Newspaper’s publicity to find appalling performance scores when I use PageSpeed Insights – https://pagespeed.web.dev/report?url=https%3A%2F%2Fjazzjournal.co.uk%2F
Are the problems they describe a result of Newspaper coding?

The pagespeed depends on a lot of elements, like page elements, external resources…
