Hi!
WordPress 4.9.6 + Newspaper 8.8.1, and at the moment I can not update to the latest versions.
I encounter the following problem, in 4-5 occasions I found myself with the tagDiv Composer 2.3 plugin disabled automatically with consequent appearance of codes on the pages.
What can you depend on? Did it happen to other users? What solution do you recommend to prevent it from happening again?
Thanks!
Hello,
After you update the theme, you also need to update the plugins as they will not update automatically and the theme will deactivate the theme plugins if detected as older versions.
Please use this guide to update your plugins: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/
There are however cases where the old version of the plugins is still provided from the cache and because of this the theme is unable to update the plugins. In these cases you have to manually go in via ftp and delete the plugin from the wp-content/plugins folder and then place the new version of the plugin manually as well so it will not be grabbed from the cache.
Thank you!
Hi,
So the composer plugin deactivates itself after you activate it? Could be caused by insufficient memory or resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Or maybe by database instability.
Thanks
No, tagDiv Composer 2.3 deactivates itself for no apparent reason, I can not understand what it can depend on because it does not happen every day.
Any idea of this behavior? Always a server problem even when the plugin is active and suddenly turns off by itself?
I vaguely remember a few similar cases in the past, it happened in some isolated cases. I believe the issue was investigated at the time, the latest theme version should solve it however.
Maybe consider to update the theme to the latest version and monitor the situation, should not happen anymore. Updating is not a difficult process, here is a guide

Happy Holidays!
I updated to the latest version of the theme, I updated to WordPress 4.9.9 (no 5), and unfortunately I continue to encounter this problem, almost every day I find myself with tagDiv Composer turned off, which I have to manually reactivate.
I ask you a solution, a way to block this situation, the deactivation of the plugin. tagDiv Composer should not deactivate automatically!
Hi,
I remembered a similar case a while ago, the solution was to comment a few lines of code in the composer plugin and in a theme file
– https://www.screencast.com/t/hhSQSlaa
This would be the second case where this is happening. The respective user did not mention after this solution was suggested, if the problem was solved or not. Please give it a try and monitor the situation further.
I believe it is on our list for investigation, but it is highly rare to happen and may take a while to identify possible causes. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Hello!
Tagdiv Composer plugin deactivating itself from time to time, we can not spot what is the reason.
Currently, we are using Newspaper – Theme version: 9.2.2 and WordPress 5.8.3
composer plugin deactivation happened 3 times so far this year.
We are using the following plugins on our website.
Classic Editor
Conditional Menus
Health Check & Troubleshooting
iThemes Security Pro
Popup Maker
Slider Revolution
tagDiv Composer
WP Rocket
Yoast Duplicate Post
Yoast SEO
Our client is not publishing any content or logging in to their website, Only file changes on the website seem like WP Rocket cache files, changing, adding, or removing cache files.
Ithemes security plugin takes daily database backups, also we have another backup system via WHM – Jetbackups, it takes weekly Cpanel backups.
Can you point us in a direction to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance!
Hello!
Check some other possible factors which can interfere with our theme here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/general-options-may-interfere-with-newspaper-theme/
I would gladly recommend you to make a backup and update plugins and the theme via file transfer to the latest update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Some issues have been fixed, and you do not need to investigate these kinds of issues so far.
First of all, please make sure you have a backup done and then you can update the theme and the TagDiv plugins also.
Please take a look for this advice before updating: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/action-required-please-read-how-to-update-to-the-newspaper-theme-v-10/

Thank you Bettina!
We will apply your recommendations and monitor the website.
