I purchased Newspaper a few months ago but we have never updated it (neither WordPress). I am working with Newspaper 6.7 and WordPress 4.4.4. Now some plugins are having problems and I think is the time for updating…
I have read in this forum some issues regarding the update. I am very useless and it is going to be difficult for me to manage with all this updates and issues. Can anyone help me in this process?

You need to update also all the plugins that come with the theme(Visual Composer, Social Counter..) from the plugins folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/

Also it is recommended to make a full backup so you can revert in case that something goes wrong – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Yes, it is recommended to update the WordPress. Please keep in mind that our theme is tested with this version and also, each of required plugin is tested with it.
