Updating Theme

Hi There,

I want to update from Newspaper 7.8 to the latest version, and I have a few questions:

1. If I follow the updating instructions at the link below, will all my settings be lost (i.e. will I have to go in and reselect my header style, font settings, block settings, etc?)

2. Will the custom CSS I’ve inputted also be lost? And if so, is it just a matter of copying it and pasting it back in after the update?

Hi,

First please make a full backup to your website and database, and after that you can make the update.
The settings and code/css that is set in theme panel will not be lost, also the changes make in child theme will not be lost, but the changes make directly in theme files will be lost.

What should I do when there is no update button?

I have WordPress 5.0 and also the theme is bought and registered.

Hi,

Please make sure that you follow the update of theme like in our documentation -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Install via FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Install via WordPress – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/.

If you have child theme please deactivate it until you update/install the theme.
We recommend to be made via FTP.
