Hi,
I am using your theme in our website. Because of some custom changes we were not updated theme for a long time but few days back noticed there are so much new things that we wanted to are already added in your theme. Our theme has versioned 4.6.1.
Very much interested to update my theme but I am having issues updating theme, when updated it was crashed. I noticed old header template in child theme creating issue then replaced with new. Again found theme panel setting is empty then exported from old and imported.
But now I put my old content to to new setup and later found td_blockX shortcode has been changed to td_block_X. How it gonna work with file updates only I have to update complete database?
Please suggest me the best way I can do it.

When updating from newspaper 4, you have to follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ (bottom section) and also: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
The social counter plugin also needs updating.
The child theme needs to be removed altogether as all of the code was changed since newspaper 4. The customization needs to be re-created on the new code.

I followed step by step, can see theme has been updated but can’t get it exact same. CSS missing, icons not showing and Footer is completely different.

You need to regenerate your thumbnails becasue Newspaper 7 use different sizes for images then V4. Please follow this guide and regenerate the thumbs: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Theme’s layout has been changed and the style for footer is different now. You ca set the background color from theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/JTxIQsXM7SH Also the widgets from footer can be set under Appearance: http://screencast.com/t/685PYiqf

If you are using an older version of WordPress, please check your panel and you will see a warning to update the WP to the latest version. Footers and many settings are not implemented after the upgrade and not even the theme colors. PS:

The best thing to do when updating your theme from version 4 is to delete your old theme and simply install the new one. Please make sure you do a back-up before. Then you need to run the update script as suggested here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Make sure you update the plugins as well. Some parts of your website will need to be recreated as elements became deprecated in visual composer so it will require a bit of work on your side.
Sorry for the inconvenience but this is the case when updating from newspaper 4. The new version of our theme was built from scratch so it will be like switching to a new theme (sort of, as we tried to keep compatibility between the 2 as much as possible)
