Hello Simon,

Please see brookline.com for how I have integrated 970×250 ad below the main menu only for the home page. My question to you is what is the code, which was added to the page using the TD Composer, which I can use to add to the Custom CSS code in order for the add box and background image (the bar code to the right – used as a filler of the remaining empty space) to appear in the HEADER for ALL pages.

Thanks.

Thanks 4 ur help. I just wonder why tagdiv is silent providing a userfriendly and easy to implement solution. Regars.

Thank you Chris, this was my idea before they started talking about using other methods. I had asked them what Custom CSS code can I sue (custom CSS in order not to get overwritten when the next update comes along). They did not provide this info and the problem is I am not a programmer and do not know their code.

If you could please give me the code you added, I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks.

Thanks, but we are spinning in a circle and not accomplishing absolutely anything helping to resolve my issue with adding a 970×250 ad to the HEADER of ALL pages on my site.

Hello, this works if I wanted to make the change on a single page. Instead, as initially stated, I would like to make the change to the HEADER. How do I edit the header with TD Composer?

Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for your response. I do not know the location shown on the 2nd link you sent: https://www.screencast.com/t/rhtQAFBSEuN Where are you doing this?

Thanks.

Thanks for your esponse, but it does not have the most important piece of info I need. What is the code I need to put in my Custom CSS to have the desired by me 970×250 ad box appear below the MAIN MENU & the TRENDING NOW ticker line in the header.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Peter

Hello Catalin,

Thanks for your response.

I am not sure I understand the point of your “Note that is the maximum size for ads in our theme” comment. This is exactly what I want in terms of size, so again, I do not understand why you say this. It is not like I want or seek a larger size. Regardless, we are clear on this one.

That 2nd link you have sent shows you calling an IMAGE of the ad size, not the ad itself. What code / short code do I have to put in place of you calling the image of the ad size, in order to show an actual ad?

Nobody is saying I will use 2 ads in the header. Why do you assume that? I would much rather display a 970×250 or 970×90 ad than a smaller one right of the logo – it pays better! You should be concerned with providing EVERY meaningful ability for your theme’s users to EARN MONEY, especially given the fact we pay you money for your theme. Right? Your theme is not just a browsing tool, but for many of us, it is a monetizing tool, which helps us earn our living!

Another point I have been trying to make with tagDiv for a very long time – why do you restrict the size of the logo your users can have. This is obvious by you allowing only 728×90 ads right of the logo. What if the logo is wider and only a 468×60 ad would work, or a smaller one?

You are doing a good job, but a few things, like this header ad problem I have been bringing up, are left not well thought through.

Please specify where do I have to add short code (and what that short code is), which will display a 970×250 or 970×90 ad below the MAIN MENU in the header.

Thank you very much, and please try to find the rational thought I have attempted to defend and bring to your attention above – you should NOT restrict logo size in the world of infinite options when it comes to creativity and individuality.

I look forward to receiving a response on where do I have to add short code (and what that code is), which will display a 970×250 or 970×90 ad below the MAIN MENU in the header.

Thanks,
Peter

Hello,

Thanks for your responses. I do have other sites running the same template, which I have bought separately. However Step. 4 appears. The link you sent says Step. 4 should not appear in my case. This is for my brookline.com site.

Hi,

I am trying to do the same as you – place a 970×250 ad under the main menu and above the articles. I read the chain above, but all screenshots do not exist anymore and cannot see anything. Did you manage to solve and could you please let me know what code and where to sue?

Thank you very much.

I just used my code to activate. It takes it and then tells me to register the theme with tagDiv! WHY! I don’t want to! Regardless, when I try to register (after I have activated), it tells me my username (my e-mail) is already in USE! So mad! Then I do not register it WHICH SHOULD BE AN OPTION, GIVEN I HAVE JUST ENTERED MY ACTIVATION KEY (AGAIN). Then it keeps telling me I have to activate the theme. This is absolute insanity, people! Stop smoking weed!

I want someone to immediately tell me why you are putting your users through this with your half-ass forced (what I consider to be a REACTIVATION as I have already used the activation key upon installation) and solve the problem! I cannot work like this with your theme popping a damn message that I have to activate every 30 seconds!

Shame on you!

No, that does not solve my issue. I did try, the next site wants a different e-mail and password. This is crazy. In addition, the instructions here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-activate-the-theme/ have nothing to do with what I see in my 4.0 versions. In my case, as reported above, it requires me to create an account along with inputting the activation code, which by the way I have input during the installation. How insane is all that!

Reactivate how? It is asking me for codes, it is asking me to set usernames, passwords… I am running 6 different websites on this theme. I have purchased separate copies! I cannot make 6 different logins… And what are they for, this is not done nicely! Did nobody think things through first for cases like this one!!!!

I fixed the spacing manually myself. Have to do it for 5 more sites. Absolutely not happy.

Thanks. The problem is that my custom css does not line up my logo and ad in the header the way it was before. They have changed something in the new css for version 4.0.

I do not understand why something so good as this theme has this idiotic miss – not being able to easily fit your own size of logo and ad. Why do they force you to their logo and ad size. They don’t seem to care. This is not the first time I have brought this up. This is insane.

This is where the logo and ad should be (snapshot before the upgrade to 4.0)

http://brookline.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/aaa.png

Afterglow

I just updated to 4.0 and the header containing the logo and the ad moved too much above the main menu line! I am tired of this. I have 6 site running this theme and cannot go insane every time I have to load to a newer version.

Why has that happened for Brookline.com?! The current site’s logo and ad in the header are too high compared to what it was – you can see Pavlikeni.com, which has not been updated for the correct position of the logo and the ad in the header…

I am so pissed! Can someone please help and solve this problem once and for all.

Afterglow
tagDiv Member

My problem remains!

I do not have Editor under Appearance.

Every time an upgrade to the theme is released, I have to alter the .css code, where the size of the header logo and ad are specified, BECAUSE, there is a resizing “blink” if I do not do that to match the sizes that I desire for my logo and ads in my Custom css.

A huge flaw of this theme is that id does NOT allow you the freedom to set your own header logo and ad sizes, without having to go through the insanity I go through every time there is an update… and now I cannot even access the main css via the admin panel….

Hello,

Thanks for your response, BUT, what good is any of that going to do when I reactivate the plugins, which by the way, have not been changed since the days the “Editor” under “Appearance” was there. In fact, there have been NO changes other than updates to the number of plugins I run, the automatic WP updates and the updates of the Newsmag theme.

So, again, what good will your suggestion do when I reactivate the plugins I have?

Thanks,
Peter

Thanks.

This is the only plugin that does NOT want to update via the admin panel. The folks at tagDiv should address the issue ASAP.

tagDiv, any response?

I uploaded the relevant folder to the affected sites manually from backup copies and fixed it.

Thanks for the response.

This is disturbing – one day it works, the next day it does not.

Thanks,
Peter
