Hi Lucian, it’s been two weeks. Is there any progress on fixing this? This is a real issue. Google also uses link, which don’t work on newsmag. For example this for their dev. groups: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/instagram-for-android-beta-testers
Oh nevermind, it took me few more minutes to figure out it was my child theme causing the problem, more specifically, the header.php + footer.php files.
Did all the modifications I needed to do to new files and it worked right away.
We use W3 Total Cache and everything works just fine. What are your settings and what isn’t working as it should? I am sure we cane get to the bottom of it π
Never ever edit style.css. Always use custom CSS in admin panel. You will get a lot of headaches if you decide to update your theme π
Bump.
Any new info? We really need this to work :-/
Hi Lucian,
Yes, in my case it is the green uppercase text underneath the excerpt. I want that to link to the article which it belongs to. I am not too sure how to implement that code.
It would be what, for example, http://www.theverge.com are doing and it works really well in their case.
Thanks,
Lukas
Hi Lucian,
I only want Ubuntu for titles. We will stil with Open Sans for post content. I will update the theme to 1.4 and then I’ll try it again.
In the meantime, thanks for helping out! π
Let us know what you think about 1.4! π
Exactly my thoughts. I have been a Chrome user for a long time. I still have Firefox installed, because I want to see how things look for people using it. And, as you said, IE is also my gold standard for ordinary people. Be it at work, where nothing else is installed or people who are not technologically sound.
Either way, I love what tagDiv achieved!
Disqus is showing on my website as well, though we use WP Touch Pro for a mobile theme.
Oh, wasn’t aware of this! Thanks for clarification Chris! π
Happy to help! π
I’m not tagDiv support, but I’ve changed it like this (example for white link):
div.footer-email-wrap a {
color: #fff;
}
For different hover colour, you would need to add “hover” after “a” like this:
div.footer-email-wrap a:hover {
color: #fff;
}
I’m not one of tagDiv staff, but would have thought It all depends on whether you used child theme or not.
+1 Chris, this is what I’ve also confirmed with Google.
Received this also, going to update today. Good job tagDiv, it amazes me how you can be here for all the queries and make an update as well! π
Hi Lucian,
I tested the htaccess method, however that did not change anything. As I mentioned above, we used the Ubuntu font for titles on our last theme (Valenti from Cubell) with no problems. We are using Source Sans pro for content font, Ubuntu seems the ideal choice for title font.
2. sorry – forgot to update you, I have managed to solve it using the exact same css π
Thanks for looking into this!
Lukas
Also, I suggest a plugin called “Quick Adsense” (can also be used for ads other than adsense) which will display ads anywhere you like + has the option to disable them via quick shortcode.
But it would be good to have it in theme as well π
Hi Lucian,
Thanks for getting back to me. I really appreciate your time in finding the fix! π
All the best,
Lukas
I know, WordPress can be a pain sometimes. We usually go for new fresh look every year and we have done so for the past 4 years. Every theme we migrate to has it’s ups and downs, but I am happy to report that Newsmag is the best one we’ve tried so far. Our other project is running on Newspaper, where I’ve experienced what is tagDiv team capable of π
Hopefully, this will get fixed. Thanks for your help! π
I know I am correct and that’s why I reported as a bug! π Anyway, good to see I’m not alone. I hope to see a fix for this, as posting those particular links is a way of income for us :-/
If it isn’t a theme issue, then please explain this. That link works everywhere else – in other CMS, in all themes in WordPress and even here – look.
We used a theme called Valenti, where it worked just fine, many other tech blogs from Slovakia and/or Czech republic use these URLs without any hiccups. There is definitely nothing wrong with the URL.
So I did more testing and I found out that it is colon which is causing the problem. This works fine – http://mobilne-telefony.heureka.sk/samsung-i9505-galaxy-s4-16gb/#c111
But this doesn’t

Oh, forgot the actual link to the article – http://androidportal.zoznam.sk/2015/01/dell-tablet-android-venue-8-7000/
Hi Lucian,
Thank you in advance for your kind help. I have turned on the Ubuntu font for Style 6, as it combines 2 problems.
1st problem – The Ubuntu font not displaying characters such as Ε‘ΔΕ₯ΕΎ, etc. These characters are covered by latin-ext and are used in czech and slovak languages.
2nd problem – the black semi transparent background – http://puu.sh/eexL1/16e494294b.jpg – it starts roughly in the middle of the image. When I looked at your demo – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/td-post-kendall-jenner-strips-for-love-magazine – I didn’t see it there and quite frankly, it looks better without it.
Thanks in advance for you help, I really appreciate it! π
