The problem with the subcategories element is that it uses a fixed layout vs what is fluid with the siblings. It seems like just duplicating the element and applying a new filter.
How to do this on MySQL level then?
I will set up a filter in CloudFlare.
What is the exact format of all those files to exclude so we don’t have to guess or wait until Google has already indexed them and hurt our score?
Let’s try and find what is similar about the ones of us experiencing problems.
I’m on a multisite setup with each multisite having its own domain. F.i.
host1. mycompany. com runs the multisite hub
newssite1 .com ~ multisite install 1 <– Newspaper license 1 for now.
newssite2 .com ~ multisite install 2 <– Future licenses
Maybe for everyone in this thread, comment the following
[] I’m on a standalone WP install
[] I’m on a multisite install (main site)
[] I’m on a multisite install (folder/subdomain based)
[] I’m on a multisite install (own domainname)
Since updating to 12.3.1
Registered
But no domains show as associated.
Not sure how to register/unregister now either…

I finally got the ftp update to work. Quite the scare
as it was showing errors everywhere.
I was able to go in on the multisite host and saw there were 2 newspaper themes active.
Might be good to mention not to just delete the folder but also delete the theme somehow in the multisite themes.
It’s showing up now.
I would really like the automated update to work though.
I love Newspaper Theme and am ready to buy a lot more licenses but updating is is such a mess. Please find a way to make it work, not just for me but for the 100,000+ customers.
Same here

FYI. I’ve tried to update the manual way and it totally destroyed my site.
I made a backup of the Newspaper theme.
I removed the Newspaper folder.
I copied newspaper.zip into the folder and unpacked it.
All was fine until then.
I had to go in and update all of the plugs in the Newspaper dashboard.
Did then.
Then as soon as I wanted to activate it, all broke.
My dashboard sidebar isn’t even showing anymore.

Thanks. Email has been sent 😉
Actually, I had lots of strange behavior.
I’m in Developer mode, no caching, no page caching or anything else.
I’ve had a page looking good and updating in the builder.
But the published version does not reflect the changes.
It was fixed after I duplicated the template, renamed that and used in instead.
That was late last night.
Today I continued on the template.
The issue is with TAGS on the single page. It was showing correctly on desktop.
When looking on the published page, it was not visible on the non-desktop viewports.
They are not hidden. All shows as “Show”. I tried “Block” to no avail as well.
They show well in the builder, not published.
I tried duplicating the template as before. No go this time. It seems that there is a bug somewhere in the page causing problems.
I just added a bright green background on another element of the page. It is no longer updated on the published template.
It seems like once again I have to start from a clean template and hope I can save and reuse some of the layout elements I’ve been working on this week.
Can you reach out to me by email so I can provide you with login info so you can troubleshoot where the bug is?
The single page has been a painful experience so far…
It really is difficult to understand what’s happening in support videos without any sound recorded. Please record sound as well so we understand what’s happening and what to do.
For example, on the Gossip Theme, I have on the mobile viewport a single page that is showing no post content at all. Even after watching this screen recording a few times, it’s still impossible for me to show the post content.
UPDATE – REPHRASING MY INITIAL POST
I’m optimizing the layout to accommodate for the most popular current and future ad formats, as well as great usability for the users on each device.
By digging in the CSS code I’ve found these min and max widths
A) max-width:500
B) max-width:767
C) min-width:768 & max-width:1018
D) min-width:1019 & max-width:1140
E) min-width:1141
1) However, there are 4 viewport devices in the builder. Which correspond to which?
Is desktop D or is it E?
Which one is mobile? A or B?
2) I want to optimize the desktop site for 1,326 pixels wide, so it looks great on super resolutions as well as the popular 1,366×768.
970 content + 20 padding + 336 sidebar = 1326px which leaves 40px on the sides for browser UI and scrollbar.
So I’ve set the desktop zone width to 1,326 pixels.
Maincontent = 970px with 10px right margin instead of using padding on the row.
Sidebar = 336px with 10px left margin instead of using padding on the row.
These settings look excellent on desktop.
In the builder I can select:
Stretch row and 1,200px content = too small.
Stretch row and 1,400px content = too big.
How does what I select here affect my layout of 1,326 pixels?
3) For the smaller than desktop devices I will want to keep the 20px padding (right/left margin of 10px) in between the content and the sidebar.
The sidebar would ideally be 336px or the smaller 300px version.
How do I calculate how much to set the zone width to in those viewports?

chrisfoxatx. Reason: Clarification
In clarification of 1) above, I know from the help toolbar that it’s some kind of offset, but I don’t see any noticeable change when I set the values anywhere from -100 to 0, 100, 500 or 1000.
Also it’s not really clear what the difference is between the 2 offset values.
Does anyone have a video showing how it works?
Update: I changed the tag on the posts from “os” to “apec” as “os” did give false positives for parts of words inside a post.
Please do a search for apec. It’s a tag that’s on 11 posts now but doesn’t show up in the live results.
Thanks.
Excellent. Just sent the info
Thank you!
Yes, but that’s what I mean. since the x to delete is on part of the colors, we often delete them by mistake, and then they no longer show in the color history, especially on larger screens…
Best to have a delete drop zone in the color panel so we can drag colors we don’t use there instead of mistakenly clicking on the x.
Thanks. Clicking that brought me to the zone 🙂
Hi Bettina and team,
What I meant is this. I have edited the
– homepage
– category page
I’ve noticed by accident that there is also 404 page.
What are the pages of a site (that we may not be aware) that need to be edited, and where to edit them?
That isn’t really a solution, since it’s part of the page content and it has the sidebar next to it…
I wrote it above.
It fixed it for me.
Open up Developer Tools in Chrome and see what the error is.
For me it showed it could not access the frame.
I remember that I spent a full day earlier hardening my WP install, which was a bit too strict. Allowing self fixed it for me.
For who doesn’t know what I’m talking about, look for this in your .htaccess file.
Make a backup of that file first 😉

It’s related to a strict security policy.
Change
Header set Content-Security-Policy “frame-ancestors ‘none'”
to
Header set Content-Security-Policy “frame-ancestors ‘self'”
and the builder will load

Same here. Just installed 12.3 and I can’t edit any page.
Error at zones: 6(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)
Same on PHP8.1 as well as PHP 8.0
Does anyone know of any plugin that could do this?
It looks very similar to favoriting a product in Newspaper with WooCommerce.
Being able for users to favorite and file certain articles, research, training, would be a great feature for Newspaper.
