Unfortunately, I had to downgrade from 10.4 to the previous which was 10.3.9.1…that fixed the problem for now
Do you have an idea when this will be prioritized? It’s been like two years ago I still see comments on this issue.
I’ve seen posts from the past that the youtube video background does not work on mobile…the last post is Mar 2019. Have you fixed that in 10? I’m on 10.x and still, it doesn’t play on mobile. Let me know if there’s a workaround or how to do it. NOTE: I notice that in emulation mode on my desktop browser it does play… hoping you can resolve this. Thanks
OMG! I’m not a damn beginner, I understand it and clearly, you’re not understanding what I’m saying because your answers don’t say something like “our developers don’t have the time to answer your simple question”…otherwise you wouldn’t be giving me this word salad runaround. I didn’t once ask you to integrate it…not once. Read the thread. I asked for something that would take you five minutes to answer..way shorter than all this excuses you’ve been providing. Done
I wasn’t asking for a solution, I understand the priorities. I’m asking for guidance on where to look. For example, what PHP module is that function controlled/run from so that I can try and debug it myself. For the support I purchased, you can’t even ask a developer what module I should try and debug? It will save me the trouble of converting a whole important portion of our site. Again, just looking for guidance on where to look, that’s a few minute ask of an engineer.
Can we perhaps get help from someone to help us understand how to diagnose this? For example, like a little start here help – where engineering can point us to at least the piece of code that this all occurs in so we can try and debug? This has been plaguing our site and creating a very unhappy customer base. Help me out by letting me know where the code is that would get triggered here. From there I’ll debug it and keep you guys in the loop. Maybe?
Can I get an update on this? We’ve been living with this and trying to work around it with no success. What can I do to get you guys to take a look at this? I upgraded to 9.7…still doesn’t work. It’s clearly an impact on the Newpaper theme…as it’s working with every other theme I try. Please help 🙁
Ok. Any recommendation on how I can debug this with your Theme? Is there logging you can point me to or something along those lines?
I upgraded to the current version and I still have the same issue outlined above.
Any help?
Hep??
nm..i poked around and did it by a child theme mod. was just curious if you all had a cleaner way…like with you API or something. Thanks
Looks like we figured it out. It was aggressive caching by Kinsta that was causing all this blowback. Just fyi, in case it ever comes up again. We excluded the cookies for AppPresser and it’s fine. Nothing to do with you guys but affecting you guys. Thanks!
Hi Catalin,
I am generally aware, meaning, I written all kinds of custom hooks etc, I’m just not sure if there is anything special I need to know to do it with tagDiv and newspaper. All I need is a write-up – sounds like you don’t have any documentation on it – or an example. Let me know, either way, I’m just trying to short-cut my work and learning curve on your theme. Thanks.
It seems that the conflict is with AppPresser. Have you guys worked with them at all? There’s a “mobile theme” that is not active but is managed through their plugin for building mobile iOS and Android apps.
Want to pull the thread on trying to understand what’s causing it to get it worked out. I’m reaching out to them too, but checking to see if you have any experience.
Thanks! Tim
Thanks, Simion. No, it was when it wasn’t active. So here’s what I think. It was caching. Something went weird and got cached. When I went back at it this morning, it’s now working. 1) I hate caching and 2) did I mention I hate caching? 🙂
Anyway, let’s call this resolved as I think that’s what it was. BTW, I’m not using the mobile theme as I need the capabilities of the builder and the different tagDiv designs.
Thanks for the quick reply…and the moral of this is beware of caching…as always.
So I spent hours …disabling and trying to see what was conflicting with no success. our staging site works and as i mentioned, so did our production site until the change i mentioned. Check it out at:
https://distressedmullet.com – prod
https://staging-distressedmullet.kinsta.com/ – test
Test works, prod doesn’t. I’m hoping you can help. Let me know if you need login info etc. to check it out and how i can get it to you. thanks.
So i was using block21…and it seems that the image sizes were goofy somehow and that was what was jacking up the display. I switched to a bigger image and different block and it seems fine now.
