The second footer problem comes because your site is probably using both the footer from the Newspaper theme and one you may have designed using Elementor. If so, you can remove the theme template from Elementor if you want the one from Newspaper or the other way around,

We use Newspaper 9.5 for our national political news website and for a hyperlocal one here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It serves most of our needs but not all and I use Elementor with the Newspaper theme on Blue Ridge Muse because it allows making rapid changes on image sizing and proportions on both single posts and the home page and it adds some additional functionality I need on that site.

I’ve had to put in some workarounds but the time is worth it. On Capitol Hill Blue, we often use multiple authors for bylines, which requires use of third-party equipment because Newspaper has not added that capability, even though a number of us users of the software has requested that feature be added.

Newspaper is a good theme but understand that different users need additional capabilities. Just simply saying “use our visual composer or else” does not serve the purposes of every user.

I know you get a lot of requests for changes and/or modifications but please realize that multiple bylines are a way of life for many news organizations but that’s another topic for another time.

Adding the lines to the .htaccess file worked.

Thanks for your help.

Everything is working except for the Tag Div Composer, which has happened in the past after updates of the Newspaper theme.

Starting getting a blank screen when trying to access Tag Composer. Began about 16 hours ago. Our registration is still in place.

Upgraded to 8.7.2 and the problems appear to have disappeared into the byte bin. Faster on the dedicated server (which was running 8.7.1 and now loads on the site running on SiteGround. Looks like you fixed the problem.

Thanks.

Never mind. Found the problem. The Jetpack mobile theme was activated on the site that was no loaded. I disabled that and the site is not loading fine on mobile.

Similar problem with mobile theme. It worked before upgrading to 8.5 but does not now.

Now it home page on my iPhone 8plus shows:

[vc_row][vc_column el_class=""][td_block_big_grid_3 category_id="4"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column el_class="layout" width="2/3"][td_block_22 limit=”1″ category_id=”18″][td_block_1 category_id="4" custom_title="" tdc_css="eyJhbGwiOnsiYm9yZGVyLWNvbG9yIjoiIzAwMDAwMCIsIndpZHRoIjoiNjAwIiwiZGlzcGxheSI6IiJ9fQ==" offset="5" category_ids="4,18"][td_block_6 limit="2" block_template_id="" category_id="" custom_title="" offset="10"][td_block_12 limit=”1″ offset=”12″ category_id=””][td_block_18 limit=”2″ offset=”13″ category_id=””][td_block_8 offset="1213" category_id="4" limit="6"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="td-opinion-sidebar"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

If I go to the “full site” link my my phone I get the responsive page that should show as the home page on the mobile phone.
