Hi @Bettina ,
thanks for your reply! Would it be possible to show the featured image with a play button on top, that would start the video/load the player (like as an overlay over the featured image) via click?
Best,
eC
Hi,
I’m failing Desktop web vitals for articles like https://yourgames.tv/wizard-with-a-gun-all-details-about-gameplay-and-release-date-trailer/ because of CLS too.
This doesn’t show when testing via Pagespeed Insights, GTmetrix, or webpagetest.org, but in the user field data. I gave the ads above the fold, and most of the elements below the fold a height already, but I’m still getting data with more than 0,1 CLS on Desktop.
What am I missing here?
Thanks,
eC
Hey,
this works.
Thanks!
Hi,
I’m now having this under Theme Panel > Mobile Theme > AMP Ads:
<style>
.i-amphtml-element.i-amphtml-layout-fixed.i-amphtml-layout-size-defined.i-amphtml-built.i-amphtml-layout {
margin-top: 0;
}
</style>
<amp-auto-ads type="adsense"
data-ad-client="ca-pub-xxx">
</amp-auto-ads>
It shows still a gap on the top-anchor ad when visiting via phone (e.g. https://yourgames.tv/2-player-ps5-games-multiplayer-hits-ranking-playstation-5/?amp=1 )
Thanks,
eC
Hello,
I have the same problem, followed the above advice but had no success. When I try the solutions via live CSS, it works with both solutions (amp-ad[sticky=top] and also .i-amphtml-element), but neither adding one of these into the mobile CSS or via style into the main header code fixes it on AMP. Is there any other way to accomplish this?
Thanks a lot!

Hi @Bettina
I’m using the mobile theme in conjunction with the official AMP plugin. Is it possible to change the menu behavior to sticky on AMPs?
Thanks,

Hi,
when I want to use AMP, I have to use the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin, correct? I’m wondering if it is possible to create a mobile template via Cloud templates to use that for AMP?
Thanks
Hello Anamaria,
I know about the Mobile/AMP settings via the Theme Panel, but these are very shallow. I want to get closer to the structure of my standard site that I handle via cloud templates. Where/how do I need to modify something for changing the front-end AMP-structure?
Thanks!
Hi Calin,
this is not my website (not my thread too, just chimed in here). Your reply doesn’t answer my question though: How can I have more than one article inline ad on AMP?`
Thanks
Hi Anamaria,
I’m using AdSense and have auto-ads integrated already. But this didn’t show them within the content of the articles (just above and below).
Ah, I see – ad spots in the mobile theme will get used on AMP – but only one article inline ad is not enough, as my content is very lengthy sometimes. So I would need more ad spots within the article content: How can I use more article inline ads for AMP?
Thanks,
eC
P.S.: In addition I would like to know, how I can control the Ads in an AMP article (via mobile theme and official AMP plugin)
Hi,
I’m using cloud templates too, and want to add ads globally to all posts.
If I understand it correctly, I need to go into my single post template (and not use the article ad option in the theme panel), right?
There, I’m having trouble adding a top ad just for mobile devices – how can I exclude tablet and desktop for that?
Thanks,
eC
Hello Anamaria,
oh no, that is going to cost me quite some time. Anyway, thanks for your help!
Best,
eC

P.S.: I’ve just realized that support for oEmbeds was canceled in 2020. Bummer. Is there any way to embed Instagram / Facebook posts (from external accounts, not my own) anymore?
Hello Anamaria,
you still seem to not understand what my issue is. Please have a look here: https://tinyurl.com/2zfrcjbk
When you click the featured image, it DOES NOT open a lightbox, but it opens the media URL. I don’t want it to be clickable/tappable – so when the user is clicking or tapping the image, I want nothing to happen.
How can I achieve that on the mobile theme? On the desktop version it works as expected, I have the lightbox / modal etc. deactivated and you can’t click it. But you still can on mobile.
I’m sorry that I opened this thread with a wrong explanation of my issue and I know you’re just trying to help, but it’s a little frustrating that I have to tell the same story now for the third time already.
Thanks,
eC
P.S.: I’ve already contacted the AMP dev’s about this issue, and they said it needs to be fixed via my theme.
Hello,
once again – I phrased my problem incorrectly. The featured image on the mobile theme / AMP is clickable, so has a media URL set. In the desktop version, I have it disabled everywhere, and it works as it should. But on the mobile theme, it still opens in a new tab. How can I prevent this?
Thanks,
eC
Hi Anamaria,
I didn’t phrase my issue correctly: What I’m trying is to disable the featured image media URL in the mobile theme. Is this something that can be changed on my side, or do I need to contact the AMP dev’s about it?
Thanks,
eC
Hi Calin,
I would like to keep the author images/avatars but just disable the links to the author page completely. Is that possible?
Thanks,
eC
Hi Calin,
thanks, but how can I deactivate it also for Crawlers not just visually?
Thanks,
eC
Hi Calin,
thanks for your quick reply! RAW HTML does the same (opening and directly closing the tag). I’m using WebPExpress, and alter the HTML for my site via filtering hooks. By doing so, unfortunately, it doesn’t transform the featured image that automatically gets placed on top of an article (and also not the logo in the header / footer). So I was trying to wrap the featured image in a picture-tag, but I’m not sure if that will help anyways.
When I change to output buffering it works on the whole site, including featured image and logo. But then I have the problem that the logo is flashing when switching between pages, which doesn’t feel so smooth then anymore. Having CloudFlare (Free) as a CDN, so I can’t switch to replace image URLs.
Do you maybe have a solution / an idea how I can tweak this best?
Thanks again and best regards,
eC
Hi,
unfortunately, the screenshot doesn’t work anymore. Where do I need to set it for the socials in the small bar on top of the screen?
Thanks and best regards,

I can’t the file anymore in 2022. How can I change the via and source links from nofollow to follow today? Is there any easier way than hardcoding theme files that will get overriden when updating (maybe via the child theme or any option in the panel I haven’t found yet)?
Thanks and best regards,
eC
