Thanks but I’ve checked the cloud header templates and there’s nothing there that will allow me to structure my header like this The Whole Dog Journal
How can I replicate this structure?
Thanks.
Hi Bogdan,
Thanks. I’ve already tried disabling all plugins but that didn’t work either. Can only think the problem lies with 6.6 update. Can you please tell me how I can revert to version before 6.6?
Also I found that when I changed to a different theme post snippets worked ok.
Thanks
Hi Bogdan,
Thank you for the inforamtion.
However I don’t want to use the Revolution Slider in a category page. I want to use it on my front page so that when someone clicks on a slide it takes them to the category or sub category page I have specified in the slide link.
So the question is do I simply enter the link like this http://howdoidate.com/category/dating/chemistry-dating/ or something else?
Thanks.
Thank you but it didn’t work. Tried putting code at top of CSS custom code and at the bottom. Here’s what I have in my custom css code now:
.td-main-content-wrap {
border-top: 10px solid orange;
}
.home .vc_row .vc_separator {
margin-bottom: 30px !important
}
.home .vc_row .td_block_wrap {
padding-bottom: 0px;
}
.sf-menu > li > a {
padding: 0px 10px;
Thanks Chris. Well I think it’s Hostgator that’s messing with me. I heard the service has gone downhill since their takeover by Endurance in July.
I’m probably going to change to In Motion who claim a load time of less than 1 second because of various factors not least of which is their use of SSD’s.
Best wishes and thanks for the fantastic support.
Derek
Thanks Bogdan – works perfectly. Appreciate your fast and accurate reply.
Best wishes,
Derek
Lucian,
Thank you so much for spotting my error. I’ve now fixed it!
Hi Lucian and thank you for your help which I really appreciate.
I added the custom css and it’s almost there.
Just that below the first block there appears to be two separators.
I’ve checked VC and I’ve just inserted one separator after the first block so I don’t know what’s causing this.
Do you?
Thanks
Derek
Thanks Alin.
Is there an easier way than me having to trawl through all the posts to find the ones with no sidebar and then add it?
I cannot foresee a time when I wouldn’t want a sidebar on each and every post so surely there must be a way to set the default to with sidebar and override any posts that are set with no sidebar?
Thanks
Derek
Hi Alin,
I’ve checked and all my posts are set to from panel but for some reason posts categorised as “Dating” are not using the deafult global template but are missing the sidebar.
You can check on my site – howdoidate.com and you’ll see.
Derek
Hi Alin,
Thanks but I may want to change the post template for a particular post in future.
Surely there must be another way?
Derek
Alin,
I undertstand.
The point is some of my posts are NOT set on template from panel and I don’t want to have to trawl through all my posts to identify them, then set them to template from panel so I’m looking for a way to do this automatically.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Derek
Hi Alin,
No I haven’t made any custom modifications – for some posts I’ve chosen a template other than the global default.
I would now like to use the default post template for ALL my posts current and in the future.
Thanks
Derek
Hi Alin,
I have now set the sitewide post template to the “default” but still all posts in the category “dating” don’t use this and instead when you go to edit them the post template is “from panel” and the sidebar selected is the “default” which I presume means no sidebar selected because there is none.
Any ideas how to fix?
Hi Alin,
Thanks for your help. The site url is howdoidate.com.
No I have no custom modification. I tried deactivating all plugins but still problem showed.
Regards
Derek
Hi Steven – yes it’s ok now thanks.
Regards
Derek
This must have been a Facebook issue because it’s now ok.
Hi Alin,
You were right. i changed the cache settings in WP Supercache and suddenly I can edit from the front end again.
Thank you for the advice – I appreciate it.
Best wishes
Derek
Hi Alin,
Thanks for your fix but unfortunately it didn’t work as you can see here by the font style which is supposed to be Playfair Fonts for headings but isn’t http://howdoidate.com/sponsored-articles/.
Can you suggest something else please?
Thanks
Derek
Hi Alin,
What I mean is how did you create those elements on this page without a sidebar?
http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609
For example “Month in Review”
Thanks
Derek
Alin,
Although I didn’t receive a message to tell me the script had finished – it seemed to work ok as you can see here howdoidate.com.
The only thing is in my wordpress themes in admin it shows Newspaper 4 not 6 although 6.1 has definitely been installed.
One thing that’s puzzling me though is how did you get the “Month in review” to cover the entire page width i.e. without the widgetised sidebar.
Regards
Derek
PS Fantastic design – the best there is!
Thanks Chris but I’m not concerned about preserving font sizes – I’m concerned with keeping my pages and posts so my question is if I imported the fashion demo would my current pages and posts be overwritten?
Also how would I make sure my featured images which are in the main 745x483pixels fit the new fashion style?
Thanks
Derek
Hi Chris thanks.
How can I make sure importing the demo won’t overwrite my existing data?
