I see. If I want to prevent the theme from using the td_ajax_update_views function, how would I do that?

Ah I tried scraping with the Facebook debugger again after a few minutes and it’s seemed to pull the right info now. Thanks!

Hi Simion, thanks for your help. I was unable to find a way to change the og:description through WordPress (WordPress settings, plugins, theme settings, etc.) but I managed to change it in the database. Now, if I look at the html <head> of my home page “http://www.great-taste.net/&#8221;, the og:description meta tag shows that its content is blank (which is okay by me for now, it’s better than showing VC shortcode). However, going to the Facebook debugger site and forcing Facebook to scrape my homepage still yields the “[vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_144487…” as shown in the debugger. Any idea why this might be happening?

Hi,

Currently, Yoast is the only SEO plugin I’m using. I tried adding meta descriptions in the said places, but I’m still getting the same result. If there are additional solutions, please let me know and I’ll give them a go.

At least you can answer this question? :

Is the theme overriding (or modifying the query) after my own pre_get_posts() hook, regardless of the hook priority? The code for this is placed in the theme’s functions.php file.

I should mention that my category template is identical (copied and pasted) from the default “category.php” file that comes with the theme.

I understand your direction to your frontend page builder, and I am trying to move over to your composer. Just for clarification, I was on your composer frontend page builder, trying to add a widgitized sidebar. Building the widgitized sidebar is where I ran into the problem. The widget is there to choose, it’s just not fully functional. Hopefully, you will add this feature soon since its halfway there, so I can get rid of the other composer and/or an additional plugin. Thank you,

Thank you @Catalin. Will you ever be activating the feature and widget that is on the appearance/widget dashboard? We’re trying to eliminate as many plugins as possible and we’re also needing to replicate all the pages created with visual composer. Can you tell me which other features previously available from visual composer won’t be available in tag div composer?
Thank you,

@Catalin.
Sorry to be a bug Catalin but have you had time to have a look? My developer logs in today so I was hoping to have some news.
Thank you,

So far we’ve only tried this on our staging site. Where can I send my private login details etc. for you? It’s the top three images in the sidebar that I’m trying to show in a slider. http://greattaste.staging.wpengine.com/sample-page/
Thank you,

Thank you for your response. In that case, is there a way to turn off the module tags for CPT only (while keeping them for regular posts)?

Thank you for all your input Bogdan. I understand a lot better now.
Hopefully this can be streamlined some day.
For your info since you’re not with Visual Composer – I can’t find a way to show the image titles in either the Image Gallery or Image Carousel. Do you offer support for this since you supply the plugin with your theme? Maybe I need to add custom css? It really shouldn’t be this hard or complicated.
Thanks again.

Thanks Bogdan. Do any of these 3 slide/rotator/gallery/carousel options work everywhere? I’m trying to use the same tool on posts and pages so that they’re all styled and operate the same.
I appreciate your input.

Do you have any suggestions about how to go about inserting an image gallery on a PAGE with it not picking up unwanted styling? Right now we put it in a text box but the image gets skewed looking like it’s trying to pick up the column settings etc.
We first set our row, selected the column configuration, and then placed the gallery into the text box in the column where we wanted it but it doesn’t look right.
If we’re missing something, please advise.
Thank you,

Hi Simon: We have disabled all plugins and found that we still can’t edit images. When we change the theme we can. We’ll have a look at custom code but we’d appreciate any direction you can help us with.
Thank you,

I tested it and yes, you do still see the featured image on my grids @B.Bennion.

I want the answer to this one about the thumbnail too @B.Bennion. Please let us know when you have it figured out.

The mentioned code was tried in the files “functions.php” and the cpt template file, using the hooks “init” and “load-page”.

I did use the remove_post_type_support( 'my_cpt', 'editor'); to try to remove it, but as I have mentioned, it only hides it in the backend where I edit my post. On the frontend, it still shows the TinyMCE editor’s contents.

Ok, thank you for your response.

Can we give you our log-in info etc. so that you can have a look?

Ah I see. So, in a post setting, choosing the sidebar position that isn’t “default” makes it NOT inherit the category sidebar setting. With this setting, choosing “default sidebar” for custom sidebar makes it choose the default widget sidebar (“Newspaper default” is what it’s called, I believe)?

I tried the above, but am still getting the category sidebar to show instead of the default widget sidebar. The thing that IS working is the sidebar position – for example, if I choose the left position, the sidebar shows up on left.

Great, thanks!

Thank you @Bogdan B.
I’m just learning your theme and I do see that you have an ad system. Can you track views and click throughs on your system. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Please direct me to the documentation regarding the features of your ad system.

@sunkast
Hi there: Has anyone found an ad rotator plugin that your recommend and is compatible with the Newspaper theme? @Sunkast are you still using AdRotator with your little workaround?
Thank you,
Teri
