Hi – I am having the same problem. We updated to the latest WP 4.5.1 and all of our feature images disappeared at http://www.inspirelle.com. We recently updated the Newsmag theme already. Our developer who usually helps is on holiday, and I need help urgently. Can you please help? I saw that durgatripathy resolved this problem by downgrading WP. But I have no idea how to do this.

The IMG button only allows me to upload an image via a URL… not upload a jpeg screenshot?
If you go to this link:

and go to the bottom of the post, you will see “10 Share What You Love” has replaced the sharing buttons, and “11 Like This” has replaced the WordPress Like button.

I see you think it could be a plug in issue, but the sharing buttons in that position seem to be switched on from the main WordPress Settings/Sharing menu. Unless those options have been added because of the Jetpack plug in? I can ask the freelancer who designed our website for us, if you think that is the case.
But, I haven’t had problems with the Like and Share buttons on other regular posts… only when I try to use smart lists.

Hi, I don’t see an option for me to upload a screen shot here… But you can see the problem at the bottom of the post at this link:

Or please tell me how to share a screen grab with you

However, I just checked, and access to the settings for the “WordPress Like” button plus social share buttons that I’m having a problem with are found under the main WordPress “Settings/Sharing” menu, and not under Jetpack or Sumo Me.

I am using Jetpack and Sumo Me.

Dear Andrei, thanks for your reply.

I realize that the subcategories will appear, which is fine with me.

The problem is that articles from other MAIN categories (and their subcategories) are also appearing. I know about hiding certain categories, which I’ve done in other blocks, but if we choose one main category (and its subcategories) to be shown, we shouldn’t have to ALSO enter the category ID for ALL the other categories to hide them??

Thanks, but since we have a lot of 2nd-level subcategories, that could still be a problem on a mobile screen. Is there a way to turn off the 2nd level subcategories so that readers only see the main category, and the first level subcategories?

So under INSPIRE category, we see only:

Culture
Fashion & Style
Health & Wellness
Portraits
Sexuality

and not:

Culture
– Books
– Exhibitions
– Music
Fashion & Style
Health & Wellness
– Body
– Mind
Portraits
Sexuality

Thanks!

Hi, Thanks!

If the megamenu on https://bonjourparis.com/ uses a page rather than a category to display in the dropdown, how is it that the page doesnt look like the menu when it’s clicked?

I tried it out. Created a mega menu drop down using Page ID. But I get the exact same layout in the menu drop down that appears on my page. So it just looks like the page, and not that neat little list that we see on the bonjourparis menu/
Is it showing one page and then linking to another? Is that possible? Or is there some customisation in there?

Thanks again for your excellent support.

Hi,
I’m afraid I can’t provide the URL or login at this time.

Is there another way to add social media links to the footer and side bar? And have them appear at the larger size?

Sorry if that’s a really silly question! I just cant seem to find an option for it in the theme panel!

Thanks
C

Hi again,

On point 2. (Social media buttons to be bigger)
The code you provided worked perfectly for the header, but the footer and sidebar icons are still the same size. They’re added via Appearance > Widgets to the sidebar and footer using Jetpack Media Icons. Jetpack seems to be pulling in the styled theme icons which is great, but is there a different way to do this to have control over their size.

Thanks so much!!

Hi Again,

3. the read more button to appear as just text:
I’m using a child theme, so my style.css doesn’t include all code.
So this is what I added to my style.css:
.td-read-more a {
background-color: #ffffff;
border-radius: 0px;
color: #bc00a8;
font-size: 14px;
font-weight: bold;
line-height: 18px;
padding: 0px;
}
.td-read-more a:hover {
background-color: #ffffff;
}

The only thing is that on hover, the background color still shows up. It’s the same colour as the text, so on hover, it just becomes a pink block. I’d like to make it just change from pink to black on hover. Can you help?

Thanks SOOOO much =)

Hi, Thanks so much for this. Working on this now.

For point 2. you can see a sample of this on http://mercerme.com/
Under “Follow us” they have a text area and contact form. Is this part of the menu funtionality? or did they do customisations?

Thanks 🙂
