Thanks all,
You all are very helpful. I’m continuously impressed with both the theme, functionality and support.
Beyond 5 stars 🙂

Hi Catalin
Sure, I’ve sent it via email.
Hi Catalin
I did as instructed, however, it’s not working again, after it worked.
Can you let me know what the actual thumbnail is in the above image. Is it module 19?
thanks
John
Hi Catalin,
Thank you. Great job to you all. We really love your product and support.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks
JR
Hi Catalin,
Correct, I’m referring to the Don’t Miss block. I do have the setting exactly the same as shown here:
http://screencast.com/t/2o4GAglgKVp
My category id is 29, however as I mentioned, it’s picking up every article that is posted.
I just noticed that in categories, the “NEWS” does not have a checkbox. That may be the issue?
For example, I just posted an article in “WORLD” and it’s showing up in NEWS.
Are there any other settings I should be looking at?
Thanks
JR

Hi Bogdan
It’s working fine now because i manually created this folder structure:
images/no-thumb/td_265x198.png
I don’t think this is correct, is it? It seems to be outside the structure of wordpress.
Let me know please.
Thanks
JR
Hello Catalin,
I just put “mysite.com” as a dummy domain name, it’s not my real site.
On my mobile phone, there’s a broken image. When I copy the source, it’s as follow:
http://www.mysite.com/images/no-thumb/td_265x198.png
There’s such no directory structure like this.
Instead the directory structure is:
http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/no-thumb/images/no-thumb/td_265x198.png
Why is it referencing the directory structure incorrectly in the first link structure above?
Thanks
JR

Hi,
I’m running V 7.5 however, on my mobile phone, I don’t know why it’s referencing this incorrect path:
/images/no-thumb/td_265x198.png
The correct folder path is: wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/no-thumb
Why is this happening on the mobile only?
Thanks Bogdan,
I wasn’t interested in the bold or italic, I was interested in having <p> tags <br> tags etc.
For those interested, I researched this issue and even though it’s not tagdiv’s issue, I think we tagdiv team should at least offer some type of support other than saying it’s a wordpress issue.
At any rate, here’s what I did to get this issue resolved:
Located the functions.php file here:
…/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/functions.php
Add this line: remove_filter(‘pre_user_description’, ‘wp_filter_kses’);
Now there are <p> tags and <br> tags. The formatting now looks presentable instead of looking like a bunch of garbled crap.
frustrated.. still dealing with this nightmare!!!
Running version 7.5 of newspaper:
/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/parts/page-author-box.php
<?php
if (!empty($part_cur_auth_obj->user_url)) {
echo '<div class="td-author-url">user_url) . '">' . esc_url($part_cur_auth_obj->user_url) . '</div>';
}
echo $part_cur_auth_obj->description;
?>
changed to Alin [tagDiv] #56809 Jun 29, 2015 at 3:02 pm suggestion:

This does NOT WORK!
Yes, I read the post and I’m just going back to square 1 🙂
So we’re back to square 1 as your suggestion is what Chris suggested above on Jun 28, 2015 at 6:47 pm
Really not sure why not simply adding a <p> or <br> tag is so complicated when you’ve added and even links?
Hi Bogdan,
Both were already done before my posting. I double checked to be sure, so to confirm, I do have the latest 7.4 with all of the updates, but still the <p> tag isn’t working. It’s being stripped out.
Regards,
JR
Hi Bogdan,
I tried using <BR> and <p> tags and both are being stripped out, making the bio look like a bunch garble text.
Suggestions please?
Thank you
JR
Hi,
RE: Can there be an option in a future theme update to allow HTML in the bios? This way we don’t have to re-edit page-author-box.php in the future.
Was this done?
Hi Bogdan,
Awesome! That works and answered my other question 🙂
That is simply great.
Best,
John
Hello Catalin,
Actually, this is not about a URL. It’s about registration/confirmation.
When a user registers on the site, they get a notification, which is all correct but not relevant to my question (shown below):
Username: John
To set your password, visit the following address:
<http://www.MYSITE.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=8FeoDSCr632TpgZWPybp&login=Ali>
http://www.MYSITE.com/wp-login.php
To clarify my question more clearly, the email I received doesn’t come INFO MYSITE.com, instead it comes from WordPress <wordpress@mysite.com>
How can I change the from WordPress <wordpress@mysite.com> to MY SITE’S NAME <info@mysite.com>
Hi Bogdan,
Thank you. Choosing jetpack didn’t show anything for me. I selected “-Latest-” and that showed me the latest news, which I think works for me as the site is updated frequently with at least 20 articles per day.
Is “Latest” a function or just a “select/heading” option? 🙂
Thank you
John
This thread went from the days of posting news to posting comments.
I’m still interested in posting news every 3 days or we should have the option to post news any amount of time we need. Can this be added in the future?
Thanks
John
Hi Bogdan,
I don’t know what I did, but I figured it out.
Thanks
John
Thanks Bogdan. The reason a list of sort is needed is to show by votes what is needed and as to the priority. I’m certain there are thousands of feature requests, but how does one know what is and what isn’t as important? As a newspaper, it’s very problematic to only show options of 7 days at the longer end and 1 day at the shorter end. There needs to be a medium which is 3 days.
Thanks
John
Hi Bogdan
Will it be possible to have a “wish list” section wherein votes for a feature gets voted on for adoption as well as whether such wish list was implemented in a release? This way for example, in version 7.2 we know what was added and what was not?
Thanks so much
John
Hi Bogdan,
Thanks, it didn’t work. Is it not possible to have this setting in the future?
I’ve set it to featured at this time and it sort of does what I want for now.
Thanks
John
