Really bizarre @Anamaria… I’ve found on refreshing the site throughout the day that the errors appear then disappear, then come back… never had a problem like this before that has a mind of its own!

Hi Anamaria, I emailed the details as requested – the problem has returned!
Thanks for anything you can do,
Regards, m

Hi Anamaria, I was in the process of creating an Admin account for you to use, and found that the problem on the site has gone!

Somehow – I don’t know how or why – the issue is resolved, presumably some caching was going on ’til now…

I deleted and re-installed the Composer plugin a few times yesterday, as well as deleting and refreshing the site and browser caches several times, but only today it is fixed.

Weird, for sure, but I’ll take it! So no need to look at my site – but thank you very much for the quick response in any case.

Kind regards, Martin

Disappointed with this “feature” – the marketing team need to have a think to themselves and get rid of this for the next release. I’ve been a paid-up customer for many years, and this kind of opt-out in-your-face advertising is simply annoying, and a turn-off.

I tried it again, and got a different error this time:

Downloading installation package from https://cloud.tagdiv.com/td_plugins/td-composer/e815948e5c9ec5801de67b92a1d5a59fx/td-composer.zip…

Unpacking the package…

Could not copy file. td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/demos/week_pro/td_media_1.php

Any help you can offer would be great, thanks.

Sure – have a look at this if you want, @wyohost ; the three menu items which were not working and are now fixed with the latest version of Newspaper and Composer are “Race”, “Journals” and “Other”.

Hi Anamaria,

I have deactivated-and-deleted then installed-and-activated the Composer plugin a couple of times, without any apparent fix to the mega menu category problem.

However, I found that recreating the mega menu items themselves does now work!

Perhaps that’s all I needed to do previously once I had the WP, Newspaper and Composer versions all up-to-date, but posting this here as something others could maybe try.

Thanks very much for the quick update to the Composer plugin once the problem was present.

Hello again Anamaria, following your suggestion about object cache, I switch off the caching on my site, deactivated and deleted the tagdiv composer plugin, then reinstalled and reactivated it. Then I switched one of my mega menu items to use the top level category and cleared all my browser(s) caching.

Alas, still ALL the category items show in the mega menu, as before. Not sure what else it could be but the theme not working with WP6 at the moment.

Hi Anamaria, I’ve experienced this issue with the Mega Menu as well. I’ve just installed 11.5.1, cleared the cache, etc, changed my menus back to what I want, but unfortunately I see the problem still exists – the filtering doesn’t apply as it should. Thanks, Martin

It’s OK, I found the culprit plugin – thank you, this can be closed.

Hi, I’d like to be able to export templates too, and import to another site using Newspaper – this way it would be possible to keep my development and test site at the same position as my production one. As @meremobil says, pasting the hash from one page to another doesn’t really work well at all. Thanks.

Ok, thanks Chris. Odd that only after Activating Newspaper should my images on my posts become corrupted, and I cannot upload animate to a new post… I’ll keep digging ….

Hey tagDiv guys – would appreciate your input please…. whenever I run Thumbnail Regenerate on my site it breaks image links that I’ve gone in and fixed!

(I’ve reduced the number of thumbnail sizes in use plus I still have a problem with images on posts not being the right ones)

So what happens is I run Regenertion, and look at my posts, and see random images appearing in the posts in place of the correct ones.

If I edit the post, then edit the image, the correct image shows up, so I can save this, and do it to all the images on the post, then Update the post.

And all is OK. Unless I do a regeneration, then the problem reappears.

(I have disabled JetPack as recommended by the guy above).

ALSO – since changing to your theme, I cannot upload any images to posts or to the Media Library; I get “The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads”

What this means is that I’m starting to lose confidence in the theme and thumbnail handling… can you offer some guidance please on the Upload and on the Thumbnail problems?

Thanks.

Hi, did you ever write your How-To? I’m in the same boat, hit the Db ceiling after thumbnail generation. Thanks.

MartinLWilliamson

argh – that plugin created so many versions my Db ran out of space! Maybe I need to rethink the Modules I’m using, cut down to just a couple…

OK, I’ll do that and leave it to run for the rest of the night. Thanks!

Cancel that guys – it was the browser cache that needed clearing. Cheers.

Hi. I’ve applied the suggested CSS to the custom code via the theme, to the editor-style.css file, to the CSS Customizer in WP, etc. and none of these override your theme’s settings in mce; the blockquotes when using the mce editor are still blue, all caps, centred.
Do you have any suggestions to try to force the CSS to apply in mce please?
