Try my solution. The new theme does not work with the old social counter plug in. You must delete the old plugin and install the new one.

Delete and install the new social counter plugin. The new version is 4.0. I had the same problem, but now it appears just fine and you now have 11 choices of different looks.

Is the recommended Super Cache plugin that much better with the Newspaper theme than W3TC?

Oh. And it’s probably because my page adds index.php/home/ to it. I only had to do that because posts tagged with “articles” and “news” weren’t showing up properly under their categories. I rather disable the search bar than redo the page and try to fix my categories problem that drove me nuts for 2 weeks which was fixed by adding a index.php/home/ page even though I just started it a month ago.

If there’s code to remove the search feature, please let me know how unless fixing search results is easy.

What’s the ETA on a new version of the theme?

VC is on 4.8.1 right now with a big security fix that was in 4.7.4. When and how can I get this update?
