Yes, that’s what I’m going to have to do. I’ll have to go back a few months and fix the recent posts at least as those are the most active. Thanks for making this a priority.
This is very unfortunate. Please tell me this is high on the list of items to fix in the next update?
I (and who knows how many others) are loosing ad income and potential advertisers because we are limited on to what kind we can display right now. Please make this a high priority. I like this theme otherwise, but to be honest, if I’d have known about this at the beginning, I would not have purchased.
Here you go. Thanks!
I tried putting the images in a div, but that didn’t help. I put one of the types of ads that I’m having problems with on that example page: http://aftercredits.com/2015/02/official-android-app/. There’s a Fandango ad that does not work.
Also, if I disable using the theme.js, everything works just fine.
Sorry, but it’s still not working for me. I had to disable the ads for now that this isn’t working for, but here’s another post that does the exact same thing: http://aftercredits.com/2015/02/official-android-app/
If you click on the Amazon image, it’s supposed to take you to the Amazon Appstore, but instead tries to open up lightbox.
Please respond. I found that ads are not working as well because of this image with the modal images. I need BOTH modal images on by default as I have THOUSANDS of images and simply cannot go back and fix every single one. Also, I need visitors to be able to click on ads and have them work properly.
Sorry, but you NEED to fix this. This theme is essentially broken without these issues corrected.
I’m going to have to undo this if I can’t fix the image links. I just found that certain ads are not working properly. When clicked on, instead of going to a page, it tries to open up lightbox and says “The image #2 cannot be loaded”.
If anyone shows ads, it seems you can’t do this unless a workaround is found.
I’ve got a new wrinkle and I’m hoping someone here can help. So the script is working fine. However, I have a post that I need to have modal turned off for image linking. Is there a way I can force modal off for specific posts?
Yes, I’ve tried that, I suspect it’s because I had to force modal images on by following the instructions here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/modal-image-default-on/#post-33922.
I had to do this as I had thousands of images and there was no way I could go back one-by-one and turn modal images on for each and every one.
Yes, I’ve tried that and the result was the first screenshot you posted (http://screencast.com/t/j8WCUPn9v), I’ve set the link to none until this is resolved.
Sorry about that @Alin, I updated the post date and that changed the path. The correct path is: http://aftercredits.com/2015/02/official-android-app/, but it seems you found it.
However, if I link the media file, then it won’t open the web page that I’m trying to link to. I want people to be able to click on the image and open up the linked page.
Thanks, that worked!
We’re still working on a better fix for the issues, but I’ve sent you some info I hope you find helpful.
As convoluted as a process this has been, I am very surprised with the level of support I am getting from WPTouch. They are going above and beyond to help with this issue. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asks.
Yes, we’ve been able to get my site mostly working. It still has some minor kinks, but it’s better than it was. I’m at work right now, but I can reply later when I’m home and let you know what we’ve done so far.
Yeah, I got it working last night. I don’t know what’s different though. I did nothing that I didn’t do before.
Thanks for all the help!
@Lucian, it’s there. Here is a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/7ZbJYC1i
Thanks @Lucian, I don’t use captioning. Here’s an example post on my site: http://aftercredits.com/2014/07/howard-duck-1986/
@Lucian, it must be the child theme that’s doing it then. I’ve verified what you said, but it’s still not working. This NEEDS to be a feature of this theme. If I have to go back through all my posts then I better get compensated for my time due to this lack of functionality.
I’ve tried both but get an error when I try to put it in the child theme (Warning: Division by zero in /home/content/xxx/html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php on line 5) I also even put the js file in both locations. So now the js file is in both child and parent but the code is only in the parent functions.php file.
BTW: I’ve manually set it on recent files so if you’re looking, you’ll have to find an older post (ex. http://aftercredits.com/2014/07/howard-duck-1986/)

@historiek, I thought I had it. I put in the root of WordPress and not the theme. I moved it to the folder mentioned above (wp-content/themes/Newspaper/js/), but still can’t get it working. I’ve quadruple checked, and I’ve followed your steps, but it just won’t work for me.
My site is AfterCredits.com, do you have any ideas on why this wouldn’t be working?
Thanks again @historiek! Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply back. Been a busy holiday season and I’ve been traveling.
I’ve tried to implement this, but I still can’t get it working. I’ve tried putting it in both the child and regular theme functions.php, but neither seem to work. I’ve flushed cache, etc., but I just can’t get it working. Any ideas?

Thanks @historiek for the help. However, I have thousands of posts, so I would have to go through every single one to fix this? This is a major issue and should be moved up to a high priority bug, or missing essential feature.
Well now I feel stupid! I should have caught that…ug.
Thanks a bunch!!!
Add me to the list of people who wants this on by default. I didn’t realize it at first so I had to go back and fix this for dozens of posts!
@historiek Where do I insert this code?
Yes, that works, but it then shows all of the subcategories like it was showing all of the categories before. So I would have to do the exclude thing again. I just reverted back to the version that I modified with all of the categories that I needed excluded (which was all but three). Ideally, it’d be nice if instead of excluding I could just include as I only need three included, but about two dozen excluded. Plus, I will need remember this when I create new categories in the future.
So, I’m fine with the way it is currently, but long term, I’d be nice if my suggestion could be considered in a future update.
