Hi,
Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, clearing the browser cache or the theme cache doesn’t fix the issue in my case. All plugins are already updated, including Classic Editor, Yoast, and others. The problem appeared immediately after updating WordPress to 7.0 and PHP to 8.2/8.3, and it persists regardless of cache or plugin updates.
Everything on the frontend works correctly — only the System Status panel fails to load and returns a critical error. This suggests that the issue is not related to caching, but to something inside the theme’s System Status module itself.
Rolling back WordPress is not an option on this installation, so I need to identify the exact cause.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide cPanel or full server access, as the website runs on a dedicated machine with restricted access. However, I can check anything you need directly on the server if you tell me exactly what files, folders, or logs you want me to inspect to confirm your assumptions about the System Status panel.
Could you please specify:
– which directory or file you expect to contain the oversized data (YouTube cache, socials data, debug logs, etc.)?
– the exact path or filename you want me to verify?
– what size threshold or anomaly you want me to look for?
If direct server access is required only to inspect those elements, I can retrieve the information manually and send it to you.
Also, please let me know if admin access to the WordPress dashboard alone would be enough for you to diagnose the issue, or if server‑level access is absolutely necessary.
Thank you!

Hi, thank you for the clarification.
Yes — I’m referring to the Single Post Mobile Template created in tagDiv Composer, not the old Mobile Theme plugin.
If I choose a smaller featured image size in the mobile template (for example 696px or 1068px), will the theme still generate the full srcset, including the larger versions (1200px+, 1600px, 1920px), as long as the originally uploaded image is large enough?
This is important because Google Discover requires the mobile HTML to expose an image of at least 1200px in the srcset, not only in the desktop template.
So my question is:
Does selecting a smaller display size in the mobile template limit the largest image included in the srcset, or will the theme always include the full-size variants if they exist?
Thanks again for your help.
Hi,
I need to clarify something important regarding Google Discover requirements.
Google Discover has a strict rule: the featured image in the HTML must be ≥1200 px.
If I select 696 or 1068 in the Single Post Mobile Template, the HTML will not contain an image ≥1200 px.
As a result, the article may not be eligible for Discover.
This means that the recommendation to use smaller thumbnails (696 or 1068) might be good for PageSpeed, but it is bad for Discover eligibility.
For publishers who rely on Discover traffic, the only safe option is to keep Full – 1920 px in both desktop and mobile templates, and then optimize loading via srcset, WebP, or lazyload plugins.
Can you please confirm officially:
Does the Mobile Template still include the 1920 px version in the HTML srcset when a smaller size is selected?
If not, how can we guarantee Discover compliance without sacrificing performance?
Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the reply.
My question is not about thumbnails in Flex Blocks.
I am asking specifically about the Featured Image size in the Single Post Mobile Template.
Does selecting “Full – 1920px” in the mobile template include the full 1920px file in the HTML srcset? Or does the Mobile Theme generate its own srcset?
I need to know which setting guarantees that Google Discover sees an image ≥1200px in the HTML.
Hi,
thanks for the clarification!
I understand that blocks only support AJAX‑based pagination and that I need to use a post loop to enable classic numbered pagination.
I can see two different elements in the Cloud Library:
Post Loop
Post Loop 2
Could you please explain which one should be used for category pages and what is the difference between these two loops?
Thanks again for your help!
Thanks for your previous reply.
Before I make any direct edits to the theme files, I would like to confirm one thing with you.
Newspaper appears to generate its own <title> tag even though WordPress already handles the document title via add_theme_support( ‘title-tag’ ) and Yoast SEO also outputs its own <title>. This results in duplicate title tags.
I found that Newspaper provides a filter to disable the theme-generated title tag:
php
add_filter( ‘td_wp_booster_disable_title_tag’, ‘__return_true’ );
Can you please confirm that this is the correct and recommended way to disable the theme’s <title> output when using Yoast SEO?
This approach would allow me to avoid editing core theme files and keep the setup update‑safe.
Thanks in advance!
I’m attaching a screenshot that clearly shows the exact <title> tags I’m referring to.
The issue occurs both on the homepage and on individual post pages.
I would really appreciate your help in resolving this problem.
Hi,
Thank you for your previous reply regarding the “Enable article schema” option.
I have one more question related to schema integration between Newspaper and Yoast SEO Pro.
Yoast SEO correctly separates:
author → a specific person (journalist)
publisher → the organization (our news portal)
However, I would like to understand how Newspaper handles author data internally.
Does the theme provide separate structured data fields for the author (person) and the publisher (organization)?
More specifically:
Does Newspaper pass the author’s profile information (name, bio, avatar, social links) to Yoast SEO so Yoast can generate a proper Person schema with a unique @id?
Or does Newspaper only display author information visually, without exposing it to Yoast SEO’s schema system?
Is there any way in the theme settings to ensure that author[“@id”] and publisher[“@id”] remain completely separate and not mixed?
I want to avoid a situation where the theme overrides or merges author/publisher data, which could affect Google Discover and structured data quality.
Any clarification on how Newspaper handles author schema integration with Yoast SEO would be very helpful.
Thank you!
I suspect that the issue is caused by the “unique articles” feature, which doesn’t handle well when a new module is split into two columns in a single row, and both blocks are set to display posts from the same category. Is there any way to work around this? For example, could the “unique articles” option be disabled just for these two blocks?
Thank you for the hint. This post is from 3 years ago, so it doesn’t all add up, but I was able to force the template to load correctly. However, I’m having trouble refreshing the mobile version. On desktop the posts jump right in, but on mobile with a very long delay or even not at all.
Problem solved. Thank you 😉
It’s a real shame, how about someone taking a few minutes and putting together a tutorial like this on how best to configure WP Rocket for the Newspaper theme? I think a lot of people would benefit from that….
The plugin is still enabled. I only unchecked one feature regarding CSS Delivery Optimization.
Do you have an up-to-date guide for configuring WP Rocket for Newspaper?
Thanks, but that’s not it, because I didn’t change anything in these settings, and a few days ago it was ok. I think I’ve solved the problem. The view is empty, one checked option in WP Rocket. It’s about “CSS Delivery Optimization”. It turns out that it can’t be enabled from Newspaper. Can someone confirm this?
Hi. Thanks for your reply.
And did removing the megamenu speed up the site a lot? Did it give noticeable results in e.g. SpeedTest Insight? I ask because I really like the expanded menu and it’s a shame to remove if the difference is small….
Hi.
What specifically did you do with this menu that made the site speed up? I also use this template on https://polishexpress.eu and would like to speed it up. What I could do in WP Rocket I already did according to the instructions from this forum, but the result still doesn’t satisfy me….
Unfortunately, the link is not helpful because it deals with a completely different issue. I am referring to the Google Ad Manager panel, not Google Tag Manager 😉
I don’t quite understand. How do I assign a different template for each language using Polylang? Where in the Newspaper panel do I do this? Also, would you suggest how I can then duplicate this footer template to get the result I’m interested in, i.e. separate footers for each language?
Thanks for the answer, but what do you mean by writing ” import a template individually for each language”. How should I do it in this Newspaper theme? And does the WPML plugin allow to have two language versions of the footer without any problem?
