Lucian,
This just showed up in my Chrome console. I’m not using a CDN, not using any caching plugin right now.
Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://tribyoot.org/12544/neuschwanstein-castle-inspires-disney-sleeping-b…review=true&preview_id=12544&preview_nonce=d3227843f7&post_format=standard’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘http://tribyoot.org/Tribyoot/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/header/elements-menu.png’. This content should also be served over HTTPS.
It looks like the theme image is being sent insecure. Any idea how to resolve it?
Philip
Hello Lucian,
I have found out that the problem was with a plugin (for the Google Font issue).
Thanks for your help.
Philip
Thanks Shashank. I have not gotten into the functions.php file, but have already changed the settings in WP Admin and I have changed the url for the logo.
Do you have any specific advice for SSL-ing Google Fonts?
Philip
Hello,
I am SSL-ing my entire site and am running into these four open issues so far:
Insecure URL: http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Amarante
Found in: https://tribyoot.org/
I’m not sure how to ssl the fonts. You would think this would be handled by the functions.php file (protocol relative links).
Insecure URL: http://tribyoot.org/Tribyoot/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/logo-tribyoot-300×1004.png
Found in: https://tribyoot.org/
The above image is determined in the Theme Panel, and the actual link to the image is https://tribyoot.org/Tribyoot/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/logo-tribyoot-300×1004.png, but my “WhyNoPadlock” scan is insisting it’s and http file and not an https file.
Insecure URL: http://tribyoot.org/Tribyoot/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/header/elements-menu.png
Found in: https://tribyoot.org/
In the theme files, the elements-menu file seems to be a blank file, but obviously it’s used and output by the theme on my page. How can I SSL that image?
Insecure URL: http://fonts.gstatic.com/s/amarante/v4/7QYOnlvGMVlAzj6iP9gUMPesZW2xOQ-xsNqO47m55DA.ttf
Found in: http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Amarante
I’m guessing this is essentially the same issue as the first one of these four?
I hope you can help me find a way to secure them.
Philip
Hello,
Thanks for the continued updates, improvements, fixes and superior support. Since the latest update I have received the following message in my WP Dashboard:
— Please activate the theme! — Click here to enter your code – if this is an error please contact us at activate@tagdiv.com – How to activate the theme
I am using the Child Theme, but is there a necessity to reactive the main theme, even though I am using the Child Theme? I don’t want to lose my modifications.
If not, this message is an error that shows in red at the top of all my admin and you may include a fix for this in your next release.
I just need to know if I should ignore this message or if there is some sort of activation I need to do. Like I said before, I am using the Child Theme.
Thanks.
Philip
Thanks Christopher. I have regular backups and have gone back a day, but the page that is showing as my Home Page is no longer in WordPress Admin, and there is no other page in Admin with the same formatting as Home Page.
All the caches, history, etc. have been eliminated, but the Home Page is still showing. It’s just that I cannot edit it in Admin because it does not show up as a page in admin.
Any ideas?
Philip
Thank you.
Have a great day.
Philip
Thanks for the code Lucian. Do you also have a way to set the number of slides on the Category Pages?
Philip
Thank you Lucian.
Your instruction always works perfectly!
Philip
Thanks for your response. I could not get this to work, but no problem, I won’t be pursuing it for now.
Have a great day.
Philip
Thanks Lucian,
The problem I have been experiencing is that I am using other blocks on the Home Page in addition to those two blocks.
After your explanation, I now realize that the Unique Article feature will not work as long as I continue to use these other blocks on my Home Page.
Thanks for the clarification.
Philip
Thank you. I had tried that but apparently there are specific limitations as to the text that can be substituted here and I was using an apostrophe and too many spaces so it wasn’t working for me.
Now I have adjusted my substitute text within the acceptable parameters and it is working for me.
Philip
Thanks for your help Radu, but I disabled everything (except Bakery) and result was the same. Don’t know if it’s because I have arranged the blocks in vertical columns next to each other in the same row or if there is something else going on.
I am using the Blank Homepage Template.
I even put a different block in there and cleared all my caches.
For now I am using a workaround (Random Posts in one block and Most popular in another so that both blocks load content.
Let me know if you have any other ideas that may help to fix this since I would still like to use the Unique Article Feature if possible.
Philip
Thanks Lucian. I managed to work it out using some of the other instructions you had provided in previous support requests.
Have a great day.
Philip
Excellent. Many thanks!
Philip
Wonderful. Thank you for the continued excellent support.
Philip
You’ve aced it again. Thank you.
Philip
Lucian,
I cannot speak highly enough of your premium assistance with the Awesome Newspaper Theme. Everything worked as you describe, as usual. You’re setting the bar to the highest position, and your competition will certainly have something to shoot for.
The standards you’re setting are indicative of the kind of integrity, knowledge and excellence that make a truly great business.
Thanks for helping me.
Philip
Resolved this issue in the Newspaper Admin Panel (switched off “Show Featured Image.)
Thanks.
Philip
All is working fine. Thank you.
Philip
Thank you Lucian. Exactly what I would looking to do. Excellent service as always. I am about to start populating my site with Awesome Stories, and even though my blog is not a “technical” blog, I would like to do a series of stories about you and the rest of the people at Tagdiv. There is no obligation or cost to Tagdiv, but it would be my privilege to do this for you.
Philip
One more update: Got it working properly. Thanks for the help!
Philip
Actually, I got it to work, sort of. I have the javascript necessary to mail the current page. Where should I put the javascript?
Thanks.
Philip
Lucian,
I have followed your instructions but am not getting the results as you describe. Could you take a look at my site to see if I am missing something please? http://www.tribyoot.org/456/meet-bianca-rinehart-who-loves-to-blow-stuff-up/
Thanks.
Philip
Lucian and Tagdiv crew,
You are all simply awesome, with an amazing theme and support. Thanks for the continue excellence.
