Just made the discovery that I needed to set the images to “stretch” in order to show up. Let me know if this is a known issue, that the images must be set to “stretch” in order to see them.

thanks.

CANCEL EVERYTHING ON THIS ONE! My caching plugin was blocking the update of colors and images!

Another follow-up: I discovered that the tag color on post page works only in Chrome as well. It does not color the tag on post page using any other browser.

Thanks.

Follow up on my post about backgrounds. In addition to background images not working (except for Chrome), I cannot get background colors to work on any of the other browsers either. I am using the Theme Panel to make these tests.

Hope you can help.

Thanks Marius,

I have checked my config file and it is set at 96M. For now, though, I will not be adding the other menus to the site.

In the future, if I attempt again, I’ll let you know if the same issues arise.

Thanks, Radu.

The Newspaper Ad spots plus WPBakery gives me plenty of flexibility for now. Later, If I need to custom code some spots into the theme I’ll work with a developer.

Thanks Radu. I now see the dynamic pages that are created by the theme and the circumstances that create them.

Have a great day!

Kronos, a short follow up to my previous message.

Tagdiv is doing a phenomenal job with this theme, and has upgraded the import/export options, so it really cuts down on the time needed to transfer all our settings, fonts, etc. from the previous version.

What I did was export all thoses settings and customizations and then import them using the tools Tagdiv built for us.

Just a phenomenal team and theme.

Of course, you may already be well aware of these add-ons to the theme.

No problem. I appreciate your insight based on your own experiences. I am going to go the Child Theme route. Should have from the start, but neglected to put it in place from day one.

Thanks again.

Hello. I have a question. My WP install shows I am using version x of Newspaper theme. I can’t find the patches to go from version x to 3.8. I realize I can reinstall everything, but there are quite a few customizations I don’t want to lose in the processing of updating.

What is the best approach to this in your opinion? It looks like you had similar issues.

Thanks.

Marius, don’t worry, I won’t be attempting to make any custom mods beyond my scope of ability. But I am still unable to add the menus as per your instructions without the site disappearing.

After adding an extra menu, the site (and admin) load as a blank page. It seems there may be an extra step somewhere in the code to “allow” the theme to accept extra menus because the menus are being added in wp-booster instead of where they would be added as per Codex.

Please work with me on this – it’s very important. I did as you instructed:

1. add new menu here: http://screencast.com/t/aH0khR6ul and you will have a new menu location: http://screencast.com/t/U2dqj0DF

2. use that menu on a category, like Fashion category change like here: http://screencast.com/t/Fl5833sW

Tried again today. White screen only from user side and for admin immediately after adding another menu location (exactly as you instruct). I can’t leave it up because it prevents me from working on the site. Since we are in different time zones, let me know what would be a good time to leave my extra menu code in place so you can see.

You’re about 8 hours ahead of us, so it is getting be be late afternoon, early evening for you. Let me know if you can check the site now and I will add the extra menu code back in for you to inspect.

Thanks for continuing help with this. It’s important for my advertising efforts that I am able to add specific menus (one for each top level (main menu) category to help in my advertising campaigns so that when users browse to a category, they will get my menu for that category, which will include several subcategories. This also helps me focus my advertising for those categories.

2. While I’m writing this, I wanted to know if it is possible to specify categories for each ad location? What I am trying to do is show only certain ads for certain categories/pages. I am using a plugin that helps me do this per category for sidebar an shortcode ad locations (within content, in the footer, etc., but since Newspaper Ads are not category-specific, I’m trying to find a solution to be more specific which of my ads run in the Newspaper Ad locations on a per category basis.

Thanks.

Marius, thanks for your continued support. After I add a the new menu (following the screenshots you provided), my site opens to a white screen only.

Is there something I’m missing?

Just wondering if you were able to figure this one out. I have attempted to register new menus but my site won’t load.

I need to do the same thing as you, use different menus for certain pages.

Let me know if you have resolved this by yourself or if tagdiv has given you the info you need to make it happen.

Thanks.

Thank you for the assistance. How can I make my theme support more than 3 menus in order to add menu(s)?

I understand Radu, and we definitely do not want to make a mess of this beautiful theme! Keep up the outstanding work and updates as you and the rest of the team see fit.

Can’t complain about this amazing theme. It’s truly the finest and most comprehensive theme I have encountered (and I’ve spent many hours searching for, reading about and trying themes). Not disappointed, but please keep my suggestions in mind as you continue to add functionality and features to Newspaper.
