Thanks for making a test, Calin. I will check carefully what you are suggesting and then report back.

Ah, then all is good. Thanks for the clarification, Calin.

>>The posts, pages, templates and theme panel won’t be affected by a theme update.
Good to know!
>>The actual date should translate automatically, when the language of the post is changed.
There was a setting with WPML which had changed but now it’s working fine again.
Thanks, Simion!

One more reason why it makes sense to allow additional text from single post date to be shown before the date: Because languages have a different syntax.

In English it’s “7 days ago”, in German “Vor 7 Tagen”, in French “Il y a 7 jours”. So the “ago” option doesn’t work for non-English website.

It would be great to add that to the features wishlist. Thanks!

>>If it doesn’t for some reason, let me know how exactly you are setting it up so I can check on my end.

There is one thing which I can’t figure out: How to change the date format on the translated Cloud templates. I need the German date for translations.

Wolfgang

Ah ok, that explains it. But the workaround that you described is pretty easy. Thanks, Simion!

Just one add-on question: Can these Cloud Templates by modified by some Theme Update? Or in other words, how can I make sure that my modified Cloud templates stay the same even after a Theme update?

>>Indeed the single post share have an issue, in tagDiv Composer the text is not hidden if you check the box, we’ll try to fix this issue for the coming update.

Well, it works despite pretending not to, so that’s ok. 🙂

>>The additional text from single post date is set to work only with time ago option.

It would be really nice to allow showing the text also before the date.

Ah, I can answer that myself now. Just like with any other page or post, you can just copy over the code in the Cloud templates. Silly me, it’s so simple.. 🙂

Wolfgang

The “share” actually goes away in the live view but it still shows in the edit view.

So adding the modified date with a cloud template worked fine. But what I don’t understand yet is if I can access this modified template in the cloud or if it is tied to my WordPress instance? So, if I had three Newspaper licences for three WP sites, can I use my modified cloud template on all sites?

Wolfgang

Ok, thanks. I will do trial and error then. 🙂
What I noticed and found quite interesting is that the CSS element settings can be defined by language. When I made changes in English I was looking for them in German and couldn’t find them. And sure enough, I had to make the same CSS adjustments for German to make it work.
Is that intended or a bug?

Thanks for adding it to the bug fixing list!

It does, thanks!

Most wonderful, it works like a charm! Thank you, Calin!

Ok, I’ll give that a try. Thank, Simion!

Thanks, Calin. I eventually found a plugin which does the job very nicely without too much overhead (https://gehrcke.de/wp-geshi-highlight-demo/).

The only issue that I have is the “&” is being replaced by “&” which seems to be a Gutenberg issue (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ampersand-character/). If anyone knows an answer to that, I love to know!

Hi Simion,
Thanks for your answer. Just to make sure I understand:
I am using the Post Template 6, please see here: https://www.thedigitalpictureframe.com/the-ultimate-10-point-checklist-for-buying-a-digital-picture-frame/
I believe it is almost the same one as the Single Post Template 17 from the Cloud library.
So should I use the Cloud Template 17 instead of the Post Template 6 as a workaround?

Wolfgang

Hi Calin,
Thanks, I’ll give that a try.

Just what exactly does “Theme Colors > Footer > Sub-footer” do then?

Wolfgang
tagDiv Member

Thanks Simion, that was exactly that.

Sorry, I am not used to forums without image upload.. much to learn I have.. 🙂
