not right topic for query, but you need to FTP in to your site and remove the tagdiv social plugin. You can also do this via your filemanager in your hosting account. Good to know how to FTP though if you’re going to manage a complex WordPress site!

With some CDN setups you will need to add a CORS file entry for the fonts folder if that folder lives on the CDN; this is a well known issue separate from the font files themselves, to stop binary files loading across domains; particularly Firefox is notably sensitive to this.

There can also be setting on CDN to “keep” just that one folder loading from the original domain vs loading off CDN.

Basically the CORS entry allows the fonts to be loaded “across domains” — if you Google this issue you’ll learn more about it than you ever wanted to know !

You need to delete one.

Whenever you update plugins, you need to DELETE the old version from server, not over-write the old folder; and upload the NEW version.

I would probably delete both of those and install only the new version to be safe 🙂

Or, delete the 3.2 version.

This is why my migrate/upgrade guide also recommends turning all plugins off, and then turning only VC on, then check site, then turn plugins on one by one to see if anything breaks 😉

Supposedly there is a bug in the TD social counter widget (update pending!!), which is why some folks getting error, some not. This is why my upgrade guide, suggests updating and then testing site with just visual composer on and nothing else then going from there.

please delete the social counter plugin via ftp. It is located in : wp-content/plugins/td-social-counter
upload the new version that is found in the zip that you downloaded from themeforest

if you don’t manage to fix it, please send an email with your FTP details to contact@tagdiv.com with the subject ASAP FIX

yes you need to approve/activate your account with AdSense.
Then create a responsive ad code.

Then place ad into theme panel for ad spot. Then allow up to 24 hours for the first ad to appear, depending on various factors (could be an hour, could be longer).

I have not yet upgraded; I need to do this tonight/tomorrow after I put in all my various little fixes to theme for some manual changes in core files.

Ah. No idea. I haven’t used Windows for hosting in over a decade — “I only use UNIX/Linux” …. so I won’t be any help on this. You would think they would have a help desk or support area with info on how to setup opcache/APC or whatever they support (if anything) … not a theme issue, obviously, but both TaGdiv folks and myself use Linux, so if in a hurry today, I’d likely go do some Google research on this issue.

You can *try* this method; but it seems a LOT of people are having the problem, so it might be an issue with some theme element. Some folks are NOT having the white screen of doom, so very odd.

You may need to
a) clear all caches
b) turn off the default options under panel > footer > use default items
c) make new widgets for those areas from WP admin > appearance > widgets

This is the one thing I *hate* about WordPress is not having a proper “save/reload” widgets function. Sometimes I get widgets in wrong thing, like footer widget in the social media box, and other stupid ness. So, I’m usually prepared to have to go back and check on my widgets. This is also why I also save out any text boxes and such in a cheat sheet so I don’t have to re-invent that, and keep list of what widgets I’m using — or just do a screen capture.

At least you updated your theme properly! A whole bunch of people are getting white screens of doom for their entire site (!). So bravo you! 🙂

I think you could probably copy the tag element from the post/single template to the page template? Not sure which “exact” files those are, but that would be the process.

Suggestion: You can follow my “move to newsmag from newspaper” sticky, as it’s really the same process for upgrade.

Saying that, I have not yet done the upgrade, but will be doing so later today from 1.3 on one site and from 1.4 on another.

and so you just need to reset and widgets which didn’t survive the update.

This is actually a funky thing in WordPress.

At least they try to “save” those on the widget page as “un-used widgets” at bottom, and you can often just drag those back to the widget areas.

I just did this for one site. One of the un-used items (a textbox) didn’t work on home page, but worked on posts. Again, kind of a funky thing with WP, not really the theme.

FLANW not fully completed, nor fully optimized (e.g., logos are from old theme, so not right size/shape). Need to sort out the feature image blocks on left side home page, as I was still playing with that.

I think ga-ga is running 1.3 and FLANW 1.4, and was waiting on NEW update – which pushed today (yay!).

Normally you delete your old theme folder and replace it with the NEW one, you don’t over-write the existing folder so there would be nothing you need to delete manually.

We use opcache/APC on our system, but I had our hosting provider set that up, so I won’t be much help on this. Ask your host company to set that up for you, or you can also do Google search for “setting up opcache on NGINX” – e.g.
